Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Elektrofahrrad mit elektronischer Untersttzung. Der verwendete Begriff Batterie bezieht sich gleichermaen auf aufgesetzte Unter-
rohrbatterien, Gepcktrgerbatterien sowie in den Rahmen integrierte Batterien. Der Begriff Batterie wird synonym fr wiederaufladbare Energiespeicher verwendet. im Benutzerhandbuch Das Benutzerhandbuch enthlt wichtige Informationen zur Verwendung und zu den Einstellungen von Brose Komponenten. auf Dieses basiert den in der Europischen Union gltigen Normen und Regulierungen. Lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung, vor allem die Sicherheitshinweise, folgenden Kapitel sorgfltig durch, bevor Sie das Brose Drive System verwenden. Werden die Hinweise in der Bedienungs-
anleitung nicht beachtet, kann das zu schweren Verletzungen oder zu Schden an Ihrem E-Bike fhren. Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung zur weiteren Nutzung griffbereit auf. whrleistungsanspruch entfllt. ffnen Sie niemals die Antriebseinheit. Diese ist wartungsarm und darf nur von qualifiziertem Fachpersonal und nur mit Original-Ersatzteilen repariert werden. Fr die Antriebseinheit ist eine Inspektion durch ein zertifiziertes Servicecenter nach einer Laufleistung von 15.000 km vorgeschrieben. So bleibt die Sicherheit der Antriebs-
einheit erhalten. Bei unberechtigtem ffnen der Antriebseinheit erlischt der Gewhrleistungsanspruch. Die Schiebehilfe darf ausschlielich beim Schieben des E-Bikes verwendet werden. Haben die Rder des E-Bikes beim Benutzen der Schiebehilfe keinen Bodenkontakt, besteht Verletzungs-
gefahr. Alle zum Brose Drive System gehrenden Komponenten sowie Bauteile, die an der Antriebseinheit montiert werden (z. B. Kettenblatt, Aufnahme des Kettenblatts, Pedale) drfen nur gegen zugelassene Komponenten ausgetauscht werden. So bleibt die Antriebseinheit vor Schden
(z. B. durch berlastung) geschtzt. Nehmen Sie keinerlei Vernderungen an Ihrem Brose Drive System vor. Versuchen Sie keinesfalls, die Leistungsfhigkeit Ihres Brose Drive Systems zu erhhen. auf Sie verringern ansonsten die Lebens-
dauer der Bauteile und riskieren Schden am Brose Drive System und an Ihrem E-Bike. Darber hinaus erlschen bei jeglicher Art von Manipulation des Brose Drive System Garantie- und Gewhrleistungsansprche Ihr E-Bike. Durch einen unsachgemen Umgang mit dem System gefhrden Sie auerdem Ihre eigene Sicherheit sowie die anderer Verkehrsteilnehmer. Durch eigenmchtige Vernderungen am Brose Drive System riskieren Sie bei Unfllen, die auf die Manipulation zurckzufhren sind, hohe persnliche Haftungskosten oder sogar die Gefahr einer strafrechtlichen Verfolgung. Beachten Sie alle nationalen Vorschriften zur Zulassung und Verwendung von E-Bikes. in welchem Land Sie sich befinden knnen diese unterschiedlich sein. Je nachdem Entnehmen Sie die Batterie aus dem E-Bike, bevor Sie daran arbeiten (z. B. Montage, Wartung, Arbeiten an der Kette, etc.), es transportieren oder aufbewahren. Bei unbeabsichtigter Aktivierung des Brose Drive Systems besteht Verletzungsgefahr. Benutzen Sie die Bedieneinheit nicht als Griff. Bei der Verwendung der Bedieneinheit mit Bluetooth kann eine Strung anderer Gerte und Anlagen, Flugzeuge und medizinischer Gerte (z.B. Herzschrittmacher, Hrgerte) auftreten. Ebenfalls kann eine Schdigung von Menschen und Tieren in unmittelbarer Umgebung nicht ganz ausgeschlossen werden. Verwenden Sie die Bedieneinheit mit Bluetooth nicht in der Nhe von medizinischen Tankstellen, chemischen Anlagen, Gebieten mit Explo-

Montage Die Bedieneinheit kann sowohl an der linken als auch an der rechten Lenkerseite montiert werden. HINWEIS: Beachten Sie hierbei, dass die Teile Bedienung sicherheitsrelevanter
(z.B. Bremsgriffe) stets gegeben ist. HINWEIS: Brose empfiehlt eine Positionierung auf der linken Lenkerseite. Achten Sie darauf, dass das Verbindungs-
kabel nicht gequetscht oder geknickt wird. HINWEIS: Prfen Sie regelmig alle Befesti-
gungsschrauben. Durch Erschtterungen, Hitze und Klte knnen sich die Schrauben lsen. Ziehen Sie alle Schrauben mit dem bentigten Drehmoment nach. Entfernen Sie vorsichtig den Griff und ffnen Sie die Befestigung von Bremse, Schaltung und allen weiteren Bauteilen, die an der gewhlten Lenkerseite montiert sind. Lsen Sie vorsichtig die Innensechs-
kantschraube mit einem Innensechskant SW 2 (Abb. C-g) an der Bedieneinheit. Hinweis: Die Schraube kann nicht aus der Bedieneinheit entfernt werde. Schieben Sie nun die Bedieneinheit von der Seite auf den Lenker. Positionieren Sie die Bedieneinheit nahe am Griff, damit alle Tasten leicht mit dem Daumen bettigen werden knnen. 5. Betrieb und Bedienung 5.1. Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme Die Inbetriebnahme der Anzeige- und Bedieneinheit erfordert nach der Montage keine weiteren Schritte. Die Anzeige- und Bedieneinheit ist betriebsbereit, sobald Sie korrekt angeschlossen wurde und die Batterie ausreichend geladen ist. Ziehen Sie nun die Innensechskant-
schraube mit einen Innensechskant SW 2 leicht an. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben noch nicht fest. Prfen Sie die Position der Bedieneinheit. Sind alle Tasten mit dem Daumen erreichbar?
Ist die Anzeige gut sichtbar?
Ziehen Sie die Innensechskantschraube mit dem Innensechskant fest (Abb. C-g). Drehmoment 0,5 Nm Verbinden Sie das Kabel der Bedieneinheit mit den Steckern des Motorkabels
(Abb. C-h). Dies kann je nach Ausstattung ihres E-Bike unterschiedlich sein. HINWEIS: Eine vollstndige Funktion ist nur dann gegeben, wenn der Geschwindig-
keitssensor sowie alle Kabel korrekt ange-

Grundlegende Bedienelemente Mit den Tasten der Bedieneinheit regeln Sie ergonomisch gnstig die Funktionen des E-Bike-Systems. Die Hand kann am Lenkergriff bleiben, whrend der Daumen die Tasten der Bedieneinheit bettigt. Die Anzeige im Display informiert Sie ber die gewhlte Untersttzungsstufe sowie ber weitere Informationen Ihres Brose Drive Systems. Schalten Sie das E-Bike mit der Taste Ein/Aus (Abb. B-a) ein bzw. wieder aus. Mit der Taste Men (Abb. B-b) knnen ver-
schiedenen Informationen whrend der Fahrt abgerufen werden. Mit den Tasten Erhhen (Abb. B-d) und Verringern
(Abb. B-e) knnen Sie die Untersttzungsstufe erhhen bzw. absenken. Befinden Sie sich
(z.B. Einstellungen), knnen Sie mit diesen beiden Tasten im Men nach oben bzw. nach unten blttern. Mit der Taste Men (Abb. B-b) besttigen Sie die Einstellungen. ber die Taste Schiebehilfe

Einschalten Zum Einschalten des E-Bike-Systems haben Sie folgende Mglichkeiten:
Drcken Sie bei eingesetzter E-Bike Batterie einmal die Taste Ein/Aus der Bedieneinheit. HINWEIS: Abhngig von dem in ihrem e-Bike verbauten Akku, kann es einige Augenblicke dauern, bis das Display eingeschaltet wird. Drcken Sie die On/Off Taste der E-Bike-Batterie (es sind Fahrradhersteller-
spezifische Lsungen mglich, bei denen kein Zugang zur On/Off Taste der Batterie besteht; siehe Betriebsanleitung der Batterie/ Fahrradherstellers). Die Anzeigeeinheit aktiviert sich automatisch. Das Brose Drive System ist nun betriebs-
bereit. Der Antrieb wird aktiviert, sobald Sie in die Pedale treten (auer in der Funktion Schiebehilfe oder im Untersttzungs-
modus OFF). Sobald Sie im Normalbetrieb aufhren, in die Pedale zu treten, oder sobald Sie eine Geschwindigkeit von 25 km/h erreicht haben, wird die Untersttzung durch den E-Bike-
Antrieb abgeschaltet. Der Antrieb wird automatisch wieder aktiviert, sobald Sie in die Pedale treten und die Geschwindigkeit unter 25 km/h liegt. Ausschalten Zum Ausschalten des E-Bike-Systems haben Sie folgende Mglichkeiten:
Drcken Sie die Taste Ein/Aus der Bedieneinheit fr mindestens 1,5 Sekunde. Schalten Sie die E-Bike-Batterie an deren Taste On/Off aus
(es sind Fahrradherstellerspezifische Lsungen mglich, bei denen kein Zugang zur Taste Ein/Aus der Batterie besteht;
siehe Betriebsanleitung der Batterie/
Fahrradherstellers). Das System bentigt etwa 3 Sekunden bis es vollstndig aus-

(z.B., weil das E-Bike steht) und keine Taste an der Bedieneinheit des E-Bikes bettigt, schaltet sich das E-Bike-System und damit auch die Batterie aus Energiespargrnden automatisch ab. Die Zeit in der sich die Bedieneinheit autom. Ausschalten knnen Sie jederzeit in den Einstellungen an Ihre Bedrfnisse anpassen
(s. Kapitel Einstellungen). HINWEIS: Die Bedien- und Anzeigeneinheit ist immer eingeschaltet; auch wenn die Motoruntersttzung deaktiviert (OFF) ist. HINWEIS: Schalten Sie das Brose Drive System immer aus, wenn Sie das E-Bike abstellen. Die Anzeige (Abb. 1) bietet eine bersicht ber folgende Informationen:
(1) Systemstatusinformation (z.B. Fehler)
(2) Beleuchtungsanzeige
(3) Ladezustandsanzeige der Batterie
(4) Anzeige der aktuellen Untersttzung
(5) Fahrtinformation (inkl. Einheit)
(6) Geschwindigkeit (inkl. So knnen beide Hnde whrend der Fahrt am Lenker bleiben. Mit den Tasten Erhhen und Verringern knnen Sie die Untersttzungsstufe erhhen bzw. verringern. Befinden Sie sich z.B. im Einstellungsmen, knnen Sie mit diesen Tasten nach oben bzw. nach unten blttern. Beleuchtung In der Ausfhrung, bei der das Fahrlicht durch das E-Bike-System gespeist wird, knnen ber die Taste Licht (Abb. B-c) der Bedieneinheit gleichzeitig Vorderlicht und Rcklicht ein- und ausgeschaltet werden. Bei eingeschaltetem Licht wird ein Symbol in der Statusleiste (Abb.1-2) im Display an-

Anzeigeeinheit liefert keine Fahrtdaten, obwohl das E-Bike in Bewegung ist. Speichenmagnet nicht korrekt montiert
(Abstand zum Geschwindigkeitssensor). Fahrradbeleuchtung lsst sich nicht aktivieren. Anzeigeeinheit zeigt einen Fehler im Multifunktionsfeld an. Tab. 08: mgliche Fehlersymptome Kabel fr Beleuchtung falsch angeschlossen. Im System liegt ein aktiver Fehler vor. berprfen Sie die Montage des Speichenmagneten insbesondere dessen Abstand zum Geschwindigkeitssensor an der Kettenstrebe. Dieser muss zwischen 5 und 17mm betragen (siehe Abb B). Korrigieren Sie ggf. den Abstand. berprfen Sie Verkabelung und Steckverbindungen und schlieen Sie sie ggf. korrekt an. Bitte beachten Sie Tabelle 07. 7. Service 7.1. Wartung und Reinigung Halten Sie alle Komponenten Ihres E-Bikes sauber, insbesondere die Kontakte der Batterie sowie alle offenliegenden Kabelverbindungen. Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt der Antriebseinheit mit aggressiven Reini-
gungsprodukten und Pflegemitteln, insbe-
sondere Kriechle und Bremsenreiniger. Die Antriebseinheit darf nicht ins Wasser getaucht oder mit einem Hochdruckreiniger gereinigt werden. Lassen Sie Ihr E-Bike-System mindestens einmal im Jahr technisch berprfen (u.a. Mechanik, Aktualitt der Systemsoftware). Fr Service oder Reparaturen am E-Bike wenden Sie sich bitte an einen autorisierten Brose Fachhndler. Im Fahrradhandel erhalten Sie entsprechende Schoner. alle Die Batterie darf ausschlielich mit einer Gefahrgut-Verpackung und den notwendigen Warnhinweisen versendet werden. Bei Fragen zum Transport wenden Sie sich an einen autorisierten Fahrradhndler. Beim Hndler knnen Sie auch eine geeignete Transportverpackung erhalten. 7.5. Entsorgung Antriebseinheit, Anzeige- und Bedieneinheit, Batterie, Geschwindigkeitssensor, Zubehr und Verpackungen sollen einer umweltgerechten Wiederverwertung zugefhrt werden. Werfen Sie E-Bikes und ihre Komponenten nicht in den Hausmll!

The term battery is used synonymously for rechargeable energy stores. 1. Safety Advice Read the user manual carefully and observe all safety advice and instructions. Failure to comply with or observe the safety advice and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The Allround display and control unit is part of the drive system of your e-bike. Read and observe the safety advice and instructions in this manual as well as in all other instructions enclosed with the e-bike. Only then is the safe use of the e-bike possible. Keep this user manual and all other enclosed information for future reference. Do not open the Allround control unit. Opening the control unit can destroy it and the warranty claim becomes void. Never open the drive unit. The drive unit requires an inspection by a certified service centre after 15,000 km. Comply with all national regulations for the approval and use of e-bikes. These may differ depending on which country you are in. This preserves the safety of the drive unit. Unauthorised opening of the drive unit voids the warranty claim. The walk assist may only be used when pushing the e-bike. If the e-bike wheels have no ground contact when using the Walk assist, there is a risk of injury. All components belonging to the Brose Drive System as well as components that are mounted on the drive unit (e.g. chainring, chainring mount, pedals) must only be replaced with approved components. This protects the drive unit from damage
(e.g. due to overload). Do not make any changes to your Brose Drive System. Never try to increase the performance of your Brose Drive System. You otherwise reduce the life of the components and risk damaging the Brose Drive System and your e-bike. In addition, any kind of manipulation of the Brose Drive System voids all guarantee and warranty claims for your e-bike. Improper use of the system will also jeopardise your own safety and that of other road users. Unauthorised changes to the Brose Drive System could result in high levels of personal liability or even the risk of prosecution in the event of accidents due to manipulation. Remove from the battery the e-bike before handling it (e.g. before assembly, maintenance, working on the chain, etc.), and before transporting or storing it. Inadvertent activation of the Brose Drive System may result in injury. Do not use the control unit as a handle. If you lift the e-bike by the control unit, you can irreparably damage the Allround control unit. CAUTION! Using the control unit with Bluetooth may interfere with other equipment, aircraft, and medical devices
(such as pacemakers or hearing aids). Also, damage to humans and animals in the immediate vicinity cannot be completely ruled out. Do not use the control unit with Bluetooth near medical devices, petrol stations, chemical plants, explosive areas, and blasting areas. Do not use the control unit with Bluetooth in aircraft. Assembly Assembly | Brose Display Allround The control unit can be mounted on both the left and the right side of the handlebar. NOTE: Brose recommends positioning on the left side of the handlebar. NOTE: Check all fixing screws regularly. Shocks, heat and cold can cause the screws to become loose. Tighten all screws to the required torque. Carefully remove the grip and open the brake, gears and all other components mounted on the selected handlebar side. Carefully loosen the hexagon socket screw with a size 2 wrench (Fig. C-g) on the control unit. NOTE: Please make sure that the operation of safety-relevant parts (e.g. brake grips) is always ensured. Make sure that the connection cable is not crushed or bent. Now tighten the hexagon socket screw slightly with a size 2 wrench. Do not tighten the screws yet. Check the position of the control unit. Before First Use Commissioning of the display and control unit requires no further steps after installation. Basic Control Elements With the control unit keys, you can ergonomically control the functions of the e-bike system. The hand can remain on the handlebar grip while the thumb operates the control unit keys. The information on the display tells you about the selected assistance level and gives you more information about your Brose Drive System. Switch the e-bike on or off with the On/Off key (Fig. B-a). With the Menu key (Fig. B-b), a range of information can be called up while riding. Mit Use the Increase (Figure B-d) and Decrease (Figure B-e) keys to increase or decrease the assist level. If you are in a menu
(e.g. settings), you can use these two keys to scroll up or down in the menu. Press the Menu key (Fig. B-b) to confirm the settings. You can go back one level at any time using the Walk assist key (Fig. B-f). Changed settings are saved. NOTE: The menu and the settings menu cannot be accessed while riding. NOTE: All the interface illustrations and text on the following pages correspond to the release status of the software. Due to the fact that the software can be updated several times during a year, it is possible that the interface illustrations and/or interface texts will change slightly after an update. 5.3. Switching the Brose Drive System On and Off The Brose Drive System can only be operated with a sufficiently charged battery. Switching on To switch on the e-bike system you have the following options:
With the e-bike battery inserted, briefly press the On/Off key on the control unit once. NOTE: Depending on the installed battery, it may take a few moments for the display to turn on. Press the On/Off key on the e-bike battery
(bicycle manufacturer-specific solutions are possible that do not have access to the battery On/Off key, see battery/bicycle manufacturers manual). The display unit activates automatically. The Brose Drive System is now ready to operate. The drive is activated as soon as you pedal
(except in the Walk Assist function or in the OFF assistance mode). The motor power depends on the set assistance level on the control unit. As soon as you stop pedalling in normal operation, or once you have reached a speed of 25 km/h, the e-bike drive assistance will be disabled. When the light is on, an icon appears in the status bar (Fig.1-2) on the display. It is activated as follows:
Press and hold the Walk assist key (Fig. B-f). The e-bike accelerates without pedal assistance to a speed between 3 and 6 km/h specified by the bicycle manufacturer. The trip information display (Fig.1-5) will show you when Walk assist is activated. Release the Walk assist key to deactivate the Walk assist. The Walk assist is switched off as soon as one of the following occurs:

Driving on without the assistance of the drive is possible at any time. The fault display may indicate serious errors in your Brose Drive system. Errors prevent the safe operation of the e-bike. There is a risk of accidents involving personal injury and damage to the e-bike. Stop riding the e-bike. Inform yourself about the meaning of the error information and take note of the solution. If the meaning of the information is unclear, stop riding and turn the bike off. Contact the bike manufacturer, dealer or workshop for information on the next steps. NOTE: Have repairs done by a certified bicycle dealer only. from The Allround display/control unit displays error messages the entire pedelec system. Maintenance and Cleaning Keep all components of your e-bike clean, especially the battery contacts and all exposed cable connections. Prevent the drive unit from coming into contact with aggressive cleaning products and care products, in particular creep oils and brake cleaners. The drive unit must not be submerged in water or cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. Have your e-bike system checked at least once a year (including mechanics, system software update, etc.). For e-bike service or repairs, please contact an authorised Brose dealer. Have all repairs done by an authorised Brose dealer. 7.2. Customer Service and Advice on Use For all questions about the Brose Drive System and its components, please contact an authorised bicycle dealer.
