User Manual 1 User Manual Introduction Read before first use 1.1 Before first use please read the following instruction carefully to operate the unit safely and be able to use all available functions:
- Observe road safety
- Observe Basic safety and make yourself familiar with the unit.
- Use only appropriate media devices 1.2 Safety instructions If the driver is distracted, accidents and injuries can occur. The operation of the head unit, or a mobile phone can distract from the traffic situation. Please always drive carefully. Insert CD, SD-Card, or USB-Stick only when the vehicle is in parking position. Select volume so that acoustic signals from outside can be heard at any time, e.g. the horn of emergency services. High volume may damage your ears - even if only exposed for short time to high volumes. Observe legal regulations. Not properly secured external devices - such as mobile phones - can cause injuries during driving or braking. 1.3 Product Description The MIB Global head unit was designed for automotive usage and contains the following features:

- iPod connectivity

Arrow keys: Always act on the currently active task. FM: Switch to FM radio mode. AM: Switch to AM radio mode. MEDIA: Switch to Media mode. MUTE: Current audio source is muted. SETUP: open system and function settings The function is dependent on the operating mode. Used for insert/eject the CD. User Manual 3 Bluetooth 3.1 General information on Bluetooth The Bluetooth technology is used for connecting a mobile phone with the MIB GLOBAL head unit. To control mobile over Bluetooth a unique coupling process is necessary. After ignition is switched on many Bluetooth devices do an automatic reconnect, if there was already a connection with this device established. For automatic reconnect the Bluetooth functionality at the mobile phone and the head unit needs to be activated and there must be no connection to any other device. The MIB GLOBAL head unit supports different Bluetooth Profiles:
Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP):
If a mobile phone is connected over Bluetooth Hands free Profile (HFP) to the MIB GLOBAL unit, it can be used as hands free kid. Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP):
The Bluetooth A2DP profile is for transmitting audio signals in stereo quality. 3.2 Connect external audio source via Bluetooth A2DP Precondition: The Bluetooth Audio Source need to support the A2DP profile. Start Bluetooth audio transmission
- Please switch on external Bluetooth device (audio source). It need to be visible.
- Couple Bluetooth audio source to MIB GLOBAL => see description below
- Depending on the BT device, the audio playback functionality has to be started manually. When audio playback from the Bluetooth audio source device is finished, the MIB GLOBAL unit remain in Bluetooth audio menu. Control playback Over the head unit you can also control external Bluetooth devices. Therefore the external media player need to support the AVRCP profile. If it is supported you can automatically start and stop the audio signal, use the skip function and see the song title on the display. Attention: Due to a large number of Bluetooth devices it cannot be guaranteed that all described functions work correctly!
3.3 Hands Free Kid over Bluetooth Precondition: The mobile Phone needs to support the Bluetooth Hands-Free-Profil (HFP). Make a call over Bluetooth hands free kid As soon as the Bluetooth connection to a mobile is established you can use the MIB GLOBAL unit as hands free kid. The procedure how to establish a Bluetooth connection is described below. User Manual 3.4 Bluetooth pairing process To control a mobile phone over the MIB GLOBAL unit you first need to pair the two devices. The pairing should not be done when driving a car!
Precondition Ignition is switched on
-
- No other Bluetooth devices are connected to mobile phone and headunit
- Bluetooth functionality need to be switched on, Bluetooth needs to be in visible mode.
- Make sure, that mobile phone has no keylog
- During pairing process input over mobile keyboard is required. Therefore mobile phone should be kept ready for this. Start pairing process
- Push PHONE button.
- Press Function key Find Phone. When the scan is complete, the name of found Bluetooth devices appear on the screen.
- Chose device of list and go to pairing device. The MIB GLOBAL unit and the mobile phone are now connected. To complete the connection between the two devices, further input on the mobile phone may be required. If necessary, please confirm the connection on the mobile phone. Depending on the mobile phone:
- Enter the PIN-code - that is displayed on the screen on your mobile phone and confirm, or
- Compare PIN-code that is displayed on the MIB GLOBAL and on the mobile phone and confirm that they have the same number. If the pairing process was successfully, the PHONE status will be displayed and the MIB GLOBAL unit will automatically start store the phone book and the call list of the mobile to the headunit. In some cases an acknowledgment on the mobile may be required (depending on mobile phone). The duration of downloading the phone book and call list depends on the amount of data. Note:
Only one mobile phone can be simultaneously be connected to the MIB GLOBAL unit. After switching ignition on the MIB GLOBAL tries to make an automatic reconnect to the last connected mobile. If this is not available the unit tries to connect the next mobile from the list of paired devices.
