Overview Introduction The LBA-C300 is a light weight wireless Qwerty-Card utilizing Bluetooth technology. This device can be used as an incoming call and SMS indicator from only LGE Mobile phone for supporting LBA-C300. LBA-C300 only supports LGE Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. Please make sure that LGE mobile phone you already have or plan to purchase is compatible with LBA-C300. Notice also that Bluetooth headset can be simultaneously used with LBA-C300 only if your mobile phone is capable of multi-pairing. (Same as Full battery icon) 9 G e t t i n g S t a r t e d Getting Started Battery Status When the battery voltage drops, transmission and alarm functions become ineffective. Check the remaining battery level frequently and recharge the battery before it runs out. It takes 2 hours to fully charge the completely discharged battery. Icon Description Charge the battery right now On charging the battery Full charge Charging The LBA-C300 can be charged in two ways. 1. Connect LBA-C300 to power adapter a) Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. b) Connect the charging cradle to back of the Qwerty-Card. Make sure that charging pins are properly aligned with pins on the cradle. 10 c) Connect the power adapter to the charging cradle with the symbols on the power adapter and cradle connector facing the same direction. G e t t i n g S t a r t e d b b d e C A U T I O N q e u i r n r t i o c e r d i r e p o P r d) When connecting the charger, LBA-C300 will be reset and then the battery begin to charge. If the screen indicates Battery full icon, charging battery is completed. 2. Connect LBA-C300 to your computer using charging cable a) Turn on your computer b) Connect charging cable to a USB port on your computer c) Following same steps shown in the previous section using charging cable instead of power adapter If the screen doesnt show charging icon, the Qwerty-Card might not be connected properly to either USB port or power outlet. Once it happens, please follow the steps again. 11 G e t t i n g S t a r t e d Getting Started Setting time and Date 1. Press MENU button shortly to show Top menu Messages. 2. Choose Settings b Time&date b Time setting & Date setting. 3. Press up/down keys to set numbers 4. Right/left keys to move back and forth to DD/MM/YY or HH/MM 5. Date setting is similar to time setting procedure shown above. 6. Day is automatically set based on the date. The date and time on this Qwerty-Card can be set to synchronize with those set on your LGE mobile phone. To set the time and date only once and to have it set automatically each time this Qwerty-
Card gets connected to your LGE mobile phone. 12 Connecting to your mobile phone Follow the instructions that came with your mobile phone to place your phone in paring mode. Pairing process is essential to fully utilize LBA-C300. There are two ways to establish connection. Easy Pairing 1. Press OK keys for 1 sec and then the LBA-C300 is ready for pairing. G e t t i n g S t a r t e d 2. Search LBA-C300 from your phone. 3. Choose LBA-C300 to pair with your phone. 4. When properly done, Connected message will be displayed. 13 Getting Started Manual Pairing 1. Choose Menu b Connectivity b Pairing. G e t t i n g S t a r t e d 2. Following same steps shown in the Easy Pairing from step2. Optimum operating range is within 10m. If the LBA-C300 is out of range, the connection will be lost. when the LBA-C300 is brought back in the range, it will automatically attempt to establish the connection. 14 Main Menu and Profiles To enter the menu map, press MENU key shortly. Reset 15 B a s i c Basic Watch Theme LBA-C300 provides 4 time themes to be selected upon your preference. A Theme can be changed by pressing Left(Top)/Right(bottom) key according to users preference. Default Watch Support Icon Indicator Watch Theme 1 Support Icon Indicator Watch Theme 2 Support Icon Indicator Watch Theme 3 Support Icon Indicator Dual time 16 B a s i c Setting the Manner Mode 1. Pressing OK Key will place LBA-C300 into Alert Setting Mode. 2. LBA-C300 provides Ring & Vibration, Vibration, Ring, and LCD only (silent) modes. 3. You can change the manner mode by Settings. OK OK Lock 1. Pressing Lock Key puts your device into lock mode in any condition. 2. LBA-C300 becomes active after pressing Unlock key. 3. LCD turns off after 5 sec of inactivity while locked 4. Lock screen will be back on with pressing End Key, Lock Key, or OK Key. 17 B a s i c Basic 5. Power off by pressing end key doesnt work while locked. Lock Lock long (0.7 sec) Inactive for 5 sec LCD off End key or Back key or Lock key Responding to a call When receiving a phone call, you have two options to respond. 1. Press End key or select Silent to mute the sound. 2. Click Navigation button to reject an incoming call. These are useful when youve forgotten the set an alert mode to silent or vibration for a meeting. 18 B a s i c Composing a new message 1. The LBA-C300 is able to write/send a new message 2. Pressing message key or select message from top menu. 3. Select New message and then complete writing a new message. 4. Enter a contact/phone number to send a message. Go to prev menu Pressing the message key from Call history / Message inbox /
Message detail view mode gets into new message mode and receiver is automatically set from the list. 19 B a s i c Basic Check the New Message 1. The LBA-C300 alerts you and displays a notification on screen when you receive a text message. 2. Press OK key to check the senders information. 3. Detail of a message is automatically viewed if only 1 message is available in mailbox. Otherwise, message list shows up when more than 2 messages present. The LBA-C300 is unable to save the messages in internal storage memory. Therefore, if the LBA-C300 is not connect to mobile phone, received message list is not able to be displayed on LBA-C300. The LBA-C300 can provide the notification function for received MMS, Email and WAP alert. 20 B a s i c Check Received Message List 1. Press MENU key and select Messages. 2. Select Inbox. 3. Up to 2 messages will be shown on the screen. 4. Press Navigate button and select message title to see the details. 21 B a s i c Basic Contacts 1. Select the Menu b Contacts. 2. The LBA-C300 does not save Contacts DB in internal memory but when a user searches for a contact list, the device will sync with mobile phone and search/display on it. Search result is downloaded from mobile phone through BT connection 22 Tools Setting the Alarm Bluetooth connection is not required to use this local alarm function. 1. Press the OK key and then select Menu b Tools b Alarm. 2. Press Navigation button to increase the number. 3. Press right direction key to confirm the Hour and move on to minute. T o o l s Phone event The sequence of 3 sec of alarm plus beep, and 5 sec of snooze will be active until END key is pressed or automatically finished by phone event setting. 23 T o o l s Tools When alarm setting of your phone becomes active, Phone alert message will be displayed on the LBA-C300 screen . Press button except END Key to snooze the alert and press END or Stop button to stop the phone alarm. Icon indicator will blink on the screen of LBA-C300 when local alarm function is in action. Using the world time The world time theme of LBA-C300 supports two types of time settings. 1. Select the Tools b World Time. 2. Choose the region or country desired to display. 3. Select the Setting b Time & Date b Time Zone. 24 4. Choose the region or country where you are located. T o o l s The default World Time region has been set to London. Notice that The LBA-C300 is not able to set clock to summer time automatically. 25 T o o l s Tools Using Stopwatch 1. Go to Tools b Stopwatch. 2. Press OK key to start and Pressing OK key again will stop timer. 3. Press Navigation button for Lap. 4. Press back button to clear. 26 Keypad mode 1. Go to Tools b Keypad mode. 2. Press OK or Back to return to previous menu or Press End key to go back to main screen (idle screen). T o o l s Camera remote controller 1. Go to Tools b Camera remote controller. 2. Press OK or Back to return to previous menu or Press End key to go back to main screen (idle screen). Space bar OK, Back : Previous menu End : Main screen Plan to support only for the mobile handsets with the camera remote controller function. 27 S e t t i n g s Settings Updating the time automatically LBA-C300 supports auto update function to synchronize with your phone. 1. Set Off in the Auto update menu, Time & Date have to be set manually. 2. Set On, Time & Date will be updated automatically by synchronizing with the phone. 28 Setting the Event Alert 1. Go to Settings b Event alert. 2. LBA-C300 provides three event alerts. 3. Select an option that you want to get notified and set it ON or OFF. S e t t i n g s The default event alert setting is ON for all the choices. 29 S e t t i n g s Settings Changing the Language 1. Go to Settings b Language. 2. Select region where you are located. 3. Language of country that you selected will be a default. Changing the Backlight 1. Go to Settings b Backlight. 2. Select the proper duration and brightness upon your preference. 30 S e t t i n g s Battery runtime may vary and depends on your LCD setting. Restore factory setting Set the LBA-C300 to factory default settings and deletes changes you have made. 31 S e t t i n g s Settings To reset the LBA-C300 1. Go to Settings b Reset b Reset all. 2. Choose the Yes. 3. All the settings are initialized. The LBA-C300 needs to re-establish the connection through pairing process once you set the LBA-C300 to factory default settings. 32 S e t t i n g s Hot Keys Key SYM Action Show the screen for symbol input. Fn Pressing one-time : The orange-colored letter in the button can be typed then it goes to the original input mode automatically. Pressing double-times : The orange-colored letter in the button can be typed. When this hotkey is pressed one more time, it goes to the original text input mode. Holding with other button (2-button input): The orange-colored letter in the button can be typed.

C 3 0 0 How to handle LBA-C300 If liquids have entered the Qwerty-Card, or if the inside of the glass is fogged up and does not become clear for an extended period, do not leave the LBA-C300 in this state. Immediately take the Qwerty-Card to a service center for inspection and repair. When wearing using LBA-C300 Do not expose the device to high temperatures and large amounts of damp or dust. Product failure, deformation and discoloration of the device and burn injuries may result. Do not damage the cord. Electric shock, overheating or fire may result. Do not touch the recharging devices or plugs with wet hands. Electric shock may result. Do not spill water on the device while recharging. If water spills, immediately unplug the charger. Electric shock, overheating, fire due to a short circuit, or product failure may result. The battery charger and the adapter are not waterproof. Those who have sensitive skins or who are in weak physical conditions may experience rash or skin irritation by wearing the Qwerty-Card. If you notice that your skin is affected by Qwerty-Card, immediately stop using it and consult a physician. Take proper care not to injure yourself as well as others around you when engaged in heavy physical exercise or work. 34 S a f e t y G u d e i l i n e Safety Guideline Do not drop the unit from high places. Product failure, deformation and discorloration of the device and burn injuries may result. Do not modify,repair or take apart the unit. Electric shock, explosion, product failure or injury may result. Do not expose the Qwerty-Card directly to water, alcohol, benzene, etc. for cleaning. Avoid use of solvents such as alcohol or benzene as they may damage the finish. Use a dry cloth to wipe off dirt, perspiration and moisture from the Qwerty-
Card case and the window. Do not expose directly to flammables. Ignition of gas and an explosion may result. Do not use the device in places where it can be exposed to gas fumes, such as in gas stations. Do not drop or throw the device. Overheating, product failure, or explosion may result. Do not place the device in an electromagnetic device such as a microwave, or heated cooking utensils and pressured container. Overheating, smoke or explosion may result. 35 S a f e t y G u d e i l i n e Safety Guideline Keep the unit away from humidity and dust. Product failure, deformation and discoloration of the device and burn injuries may result. Keep the unit out of the reach of chidren. Improper handling of the device by children may cause injury. Do not transmit radio waves where it is prohibited, such as in airplanes and hospitals. Doing so may affect onboard electronic instrumentation and electric medical equipment. Do not operate the Qwerty-Card while driving a vehicle. Lack of concentration on the road may lead to an accident. If you hear thunder, unplug the charger. 36 l T r o u b e s h o o t i n g Troubleshooting This chapter lists some problems that you might encounter while using your LBA-C300. Problem No display Battery Charging cannot be done Possible Corrective measures Not enough battery. The Qwerty-
Card is not mounted properly to the charge cradle. System Halt No key is functional. Not pairing with Phone Does not receive Caller ID, messages. Solution Try to charge the battery. Check the charge cradle direction with Qwerty-Card rear cases charge pin. Please connect LBA-C300 to the charger to reset. Press End button for 5~12 sec to power off and press End button to turn on power after 5 sec. Please try to follow the pairing process. 37 W a r r a n t y a n d S e r v i c e Warranty and Service Conditions The warranty is valid only if the original receipt issued to the original purchaser by the dealer, specifying the date of purchase and serial number, is presented with the product to be repaired or replaced. LG Electronics reserves the right to refuse warranty service if this information has been removed or changed after the original purchase of the product from the dealer. If LG Electronics repairs or replaces the product, the repaired or replaced product shall be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period or for ninety (90) days from the date of repair, whichever is longer. Repair or replacement may involve the use of functionally equivalent reconditioned units. Replaced parts or components will become the property of LG Electronics. This Warranty does not cover any failure of the product due to normal use and tear, or due to misuse, including but not limited to use in other than the normal and customary manner, in accordance with instructions for use and maintenance of the product. Nor does this warranty cover any failure of the product due to accident, modification or adjustment, acts of God or damage resulting from liquid. This warranty does not cover product failures due to improper repair installations, modifications or service performed by a non- LG Electronics authorized person. FCC ID: BEJ-LBA-C300 Bluetooth QD ID B014987 40 Additional Information 1. Radio frequency exposure This Bluetooth, LBA-C300, is a radio transmitter and receiver. When in operation, it communicates with a Bluetooth equipped mobile device by receiving and transmitting radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (microwaves) in the frequency range 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz. The output power of the radio transmitter is low, 0.002 watt. Your Bluetooth Device is designed to operate in compliance with the RF exposure guidelines and limits set by national authorities and international health agencies when used any compatible LG Electronics mobile phone. A d d i t i o n a l I n f o r m a t i o n 2. Potentially explosive atmosphere Turn off your electronic device when in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. It is rare, but your electronic device could generate sparks. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but not always, clearly marked. 41 A d d i t i o n a l I n f o r m a t i o n Additional Information 3. Battery information A rechargeable battery has a long service life if treated properly. A new battery or one that has not been used for a long period of time could have reduced capacity the first few times it is used. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures, never above
+60(+140F) or under -20(-4F). For maximum battery capacity, use the battery in room temperature. If the battery is used in low temperatures, the battery capacity will be reduced. The battery can only be charged in temperatures between +10(+50F) and +45(+ 113F). 4. Recycling the battery in your Bluetooth Device The battery in your Bluetooth Device must be disposed of properly and should never be placed in municipal waste.
