All rights reserved. Using Your Remote Control Using the 2 Way Remote Control for the First Time. The 2 way remote control has been shipped in Battery Save Mode to conserve battery power and will be necessary for you to turn off battery save mode before using the remote for normal operation. It is also recommended that you fully charge the battery before use. Refer to the additional 2 way remote control features section of this manual for details. Arming the Security System To arm the system, exit the vehicle, close all doors, then press the parking lights will flash 2 times, indicating the system is armed, has locked the doors (if equipped and connected) and activated the starter disable feature. Using the Progressive Car Finder Feature Use the car finder feature to locate your vehicle. . Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic) Press and hold the button(s) shown below for 3 seconds to activate the personal protection alarm . During panic mode, the normal function of the transmitter buttons will be suspended. The transmitters buttons can be used to lock and unlock the door (if the option is installed). To stop the alarm, press and hold the button(s) on the transmitter again for 3 seconds. Turning on the Vehicles Headlights (Optional) If this feature is enabled on your system, pressing and holding the seconds will turn on the vehicles headlights for 30 seconds. All rights reserved. 5 Valet Mode To engage valet mode:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. 2. Press and hold the valet button for 5 seconds. 3. The LED will light solid indicating that the system is in valet mode. When valet mode is activated the status LED will light solid, and all security functions will be disabled. To disengage valet mode:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. 2. Press and release the valet button. 3. The LED will turn off indicating that the system has exited valet mode. 2 Car Mode It is possible for your remote transmitter to control 2 vehicles provided the both are equipped with compatible security or remote start systems and your transmitter has been programmed to the additional vehicles system. To operate the additional vehicle you must first enter 2 car mode from the remote control. Once in 2 car mode, the remote control will operate only the second vehicle, the original vehicle will have no response from the remote. To enter or exit 2 car mode, refer to the transmitters advanced functions menu section of this manual. Manually Overriding the Security System If your transmitter is lost or disabled, it will be necessary use the emergency override button to turn the security system off. There are two types of emergency override procedures. Check with your installing dealer to find out what has been activated on your system. Standard Emergency Override Procedure:
1. Open the vehicle door. The alarm will sound. 2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. 3. Within 5 seconds, press and release the valet button. The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (by-passed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally. 6 2012 Audiovox Electronics Corporation. All rights reserved. Coded Emergency Override Procedure:
The system has an optional override mode that allows you to program a 2 digit personal code using the emergency override button offering a higher level of security. This feature must be enabled by your installing dealer, the default override code is 11. 1. Enter the vehicle (the security system will trigger). 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 3. Within 5 seconds press the valet button the number of times corresponding to the first digit of your personal code (Default digit is 1). 4. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF, then ON. 5. Within 5 seconds press the valet button the number of times corresponding to the second digit of your personal code (Default digit is 1). 6. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF, then ON. 7. If entered correctly the security system will turn off. 8. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Programming Your Personal Override Code 1. Make sure the security system is disarmed. 2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. 3. Within 10 seconds press and release the valet button 3 times. 4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition key OFF then ON 3 times (The horn will honk and the lights will flash 1 time). 5. Within 10 seconds press and release the valet button the number of times corresponding with the first digit of your personal code (1-9). 6. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition key OFF then ON. 7. Within 10 seconds press and release the valet button the number of times corresponding with the second digit of you personal code (1-9). 8. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF. 9. You will notice the LED flash a number of times corresponding with the code you entered. Note: If 15 seconds of inactivity passes the system will abort programming. Note: Do not lose your Personal Override Code. Reprogramming a new code without the original code can only be performed by an authorized dealer. 2012 Audiovox Electronics Corporation. All rights reserved. 7 Using Your Remote Vehicle Starter Remote Starting Your Vehicle To activate the remote vehicle start function, press and release the times within 2 seconds. The system will sound, the parking lights will flash 1 time and the system will check the vehicle to ensure it is safe to start. If all safety parameters are correct, the vehicle will start within 5 seconds. The vehicles parking lights will turn on (or flash depending on system settings) as a visual indication that the vehicle has started and is running. Press and hold the for 3 seconds to turn the vehicle off. If your vehicle stalls or does not start, the system will pause 3 seconds, then try 3 more times to start the vehicle (a total of 4 attempts). The system will pause 3 seconds between each start attempt. If the vehicle does not start after the 4th attempt, the system will abort the remote vehicle start process. button 2 button Entering the Vehicle while it is Running via Remote Vehicle Start 1. Unlock the vehicles doors. 2. Enter the vehicle. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL!
3. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn to the ON or RUN position. 4. Press the brake pedal. The remote vehicle starter will disengage and the vehicle will operate normally. Preheating or Precooling the Vehicles interior Before exiting the vehicle, set the temperature controls to the desired setting and operation. After the system starts the vehicle, the heater or air conditioner will activate and heat or cool the vehicles interior to your setting. Using the Quick-stop Feature If you want to make a short stop and keep your vehicle running (to keep the interior warm or cool), the quick-stop feature allows you to do this while keeping your vehicle secure and your keys with you. To engage quick stop:
1. Stop the vehicle and place the transmission in PARK. 2. With your foot off the brake pedal, press and release the button 2 times within 2 seconds. The LED will flash 3 times to confirm quick stop is entered. If your vehicle has a manual transmission, set the parking brake after this step to prevent activating manual transmission ready mode. 3. Remove the keys from the ignition and exit the vehicle. Press the button to lock the vehicles doors if desired. NOTE: Do not leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle when using the quick-stop feature. 8 2012 Audiovox Electronics Corporation. All rights reserved. Turbo Timer This option will keep the engine running to allow the vehicles turbo to properly cool down before shutting the engine off. To engage the turbo timer feature:
1. With the vehicle running via the ignition key and your foot off of the brake pedal. 2. Engage the vehicles parking brake and press the valet button 2 times. 3. The vehicles parking lights will turn on to verify the Turbo Timer feature has been activated. 4. Turn the ignition key OFF, the vehicle will continue to run until the pre-
programmed time has elapsed (1, 2, or 3 minutes) To disengage the turbo timer feature, press the vehicles brake pedal. Operating the Daily Start Timer The system has the ability to start your vehicle based on a 24-hour countdown timer. This feature requires a two-part activation sequence. First enter the transmitters advanced level menu and select daily start timer (refer to the activating remote features section), this will activate the 24 hour countdown timer
(the vehicle will start 24 hours from this time). Next, When you are finished operating the vehicle for the day, perform the following steps to complete the process. 1. Turn the ignition ON/OFF (vehicle must be disarmed). 2. Within 10 seconds, while pressing the brake, press and release the valet button 1 time. 3. All rights reserved. 9 Operating the 2 / 4 Hour Start Up Timer Mode The system has the ability to start the vehicle every 2 or 4 hours over a 48 hour period. This feature is especially useful in cold climates where the only means to keep the engine and engine fluids warm is to periodically start the engine. WARNING!
Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide fumes which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. DO NOT remote start the vehicle if it is garaged. Selecting between 2 and 4 hour start up: (default 4 hour) 1. Press and hold the valet button. 2. Turn the ignition switch ON then OFF. (10 second window begins) 3. Release the valet button 4a. 2 Hour Start - Press and release the valet button 1 time then press and hold until the 10 seconds window ends, the system will chirp 2 times and the parking lights will flash 2 times. Or 4b. 4 Hour Start - Press and release the valet button 3 times then press and hold until the 10 seconds window ends, the system will chirp 4 times and the parking lights will flash 4 times. 5. Release the valet button. To begin the 2 / 4 hour start up timer mode:
1a. Turn the ignition key ON then OFF OR 1b. Remote start the vehicle and shut it down with the remote control 2. Within 10 seconds activate the 2/4 hour start timer from the remote control. Refer to the activating remote control features section. The parking lights will flash and the system will sound 4 times indicating the 2 /
4 hour start up timer mode has been activated. The vehicle will start every 2 or 4 hours and run for the preset time limit (5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes) and then shutdown. This will continue for 48 hours unless the 2 / 4 hour start up timer is cancelled. To cancel the 2 / 4 hour start up timer mode:
1. Start the vehicle using the ignition key, then press the brake pedal. Or 2. Activate the remote vehicle start feature using the remote control. 10 2012 Audiovox Electronics Corporation. All rights reserved. Manual Transmission Mode Remote starting a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission will require a 2 step safety sequence, Enter Ready Mode and Activate Ready Mode. The steps for entering and activating ready mode are programmable, see your installing dealer for details. 1 - Manual Transmission - Enter Ready Mode: Manual transmission enter ready mode is step 1 of 2 required to allow remote start activation. Perform 1 of the following steps to Enter Ready Mode. Parking Brake + Start Button - Parking brake on then activate the remote start via the transmitter. (default) Parking Brake Twice - Parking brake on, off, on. Parking Brake + Brake - Parking brake on then press the brake pedal. 2 - Manual Transmission - Activate Ready Mode: Manual transmission activate ready mode is step 2 of 2 required to allow remote start activation. Perform 1 of the following steps to Activate Ready Mode, once complete the remote start will shutdown and the transmitter can then be used to remote start the vehicle. Last Door Closed + Lock - Ready after last door is closed then lock is pressed on the transmitter. (default) Last Door Closed - Ready after last door is closed. Fuel Saver Mode By default the remote start will run for a set period of time, to give the system added flexibility you can adjust this time from the remote control. The selectable run times are 5, 10, 15, 20, 45, and 60 minutes. To adjust the run time refer to the activating remote control features sections of this manual. Temp Start Temp Start allows automatic remote start activation once the ambient temperature of the vehicle drops to the preset threshold of 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It is required that the feature be set to ON in the remote start installation feature bank and will only operate when activated from the remote control. To activate the feature from the remote control refer to the activating remote control features sections of this manual. NOTE: The security system must be armed for this feature to operate. 2012 Audiovox Electronics Corporation. All rights reserved. 11 Remote Start Valet Mode Remote Start Valet Mode is used to disable the system from remote starting. To enter or exit remote start valet mode simply follow the 4 steps outlined below:
1. Push and hold the programming/valet button. 2. Cycle the ignition ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF. 3. Release the programming/valet button. 4. The LED will flash 2 short flashes and 1 long flash when in remote start valet mode Remote Start Safety Features For safety and security reasons, the system will shutdown or prevent the remote vehicle starter from activating if any of the following occur:
1. The vehicle hood is open. 2. The brake pedal is pressed prior to turning the ignition key to the ON position. 3. The engine is over-revved (tach checking only). 4. Additional 2 Way OLED Remote Control Feature Descriptions The following features / menus are activated through the 2 way remote controls additional advanced level menus, refer to the activating 2 way remote control features section of this manual. AUX Menu Controls the 4 optional auxiliary outputs Battery Save Mode While in Battery Save Mode the 2 way remote control will NOT look for any incoming signals from the main unit until battery save mode is turned off. In addition to the menu screen, you can manually turn battery save on/off as follows:
Battery save OFF: Press and hold Battery save ON: Press and hold for 2 seconds.

for 2 seconds. Melody / Vibration Mode The remote control can play a melody tone, vibrate or both each time it receives a response from the vehicle. Status Check The remote control will update the vehicles current status. Temp Check The remote control will display the vehicles interior temperature. Parking Meter Timer The remote control will countdown time based on the amount of time set by the user. Alarm Clock Alarm clock with selectable alarm tones. All rights reserved. 13 Fahrenheit / Celsius Display the current temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Clock Set Adjust the clock displayed on the screen. Alarm Tones Selectable tones used for the alarm clock feature. Remote Start Tones Selectable tones used to indicate remote start activation. Remote Start Shutdown Tones Selectable tones used to indicate remote start has shutdown. The battery (model CR2032) inside each remote control should last approximately 1 year under normal use. When the battery becomes weak you will notice the remote control range (the distance from the vehicle the remote control will work) deteriorate and the small LED on the remote control will dim. To replace the remote control batteries:
1. Remove 2 side panels and 1 screw then disassemble the halves of the remote control. 2. Remove the old battery, observing the +/- symbols on the batteries and replace with new CR2032 battery. 3.
