Only a Proxense authorized installation professional may install this product. There are four steps to the installation:
Before you start Provisioning the Beacon Installing the external antenna(s) Installing the Beacon Step 1: Before you start To ensure that you have the most recent version of this guide, be sure to check our FTP site before you start the installation. Package Contents Your package includes the following items:
This Guide One Beacon One Mounting Kit Your package maybe part of a master pack where multiple Beacons and one copy of this guide will be provided. Minimum Requirements ProxNet installation site survey which lists the following:
a. The available 802.3AF network port number / cable location b. The installation location of the Beacon c. The installation location of the external TX antenna d. If required the installation location of the external RX antenna TX antenna (must be an authorized Proxense antenna listed in Appendix A of this guide) RX antenna (if required) MODEL NUMBER: BE1000 Page 2 BEACON Installation Guide Step 2: Installing the external antenna(s) Mounting the TX Antenna (ANT B) 1. Find the part number and mounting location for the TX antenna from the ProxNet installation survey. The antenna will be one of the authorized antennas listed in Appendix A of this guide. 2. Using this information follow the mounting instructions provided with the antenna to mount the antenna at the listed survey location. Mounting the RX Antenna (ANT A) 1. Find the part number and mounting location for the RX antenna from the ProxNet installation survey. If none is listed continue on to Step 3; Installing the Beacon. 2. Using this information follow the mounting instructions provided with the antenna to mount the antenna at the listed survey location. Step 3: Installing the Beacon Installing the mounting bracket 1. Find the Beacon mounting location, bracket type, mounting angle from the ProxNet installation survey. 2. Using this information install the mounting bracket. Connecting the Beacon to the 802.3AF network Connect the 802.3AF network cable to the Beacons RJ45 connector. Connecting the external antenna(s) 1. Connect the TX antenna cable to the Beacons ANT B SMA connector. 2. If configured connect the RX antenna cable to the Beacons ANT A SMA connector. Mounting the Beacon Following the mounting bracket instructions attach the Beacon to the mounting bracket. Step 4: Provisioning the Beacon You have completed the physical installation. Please contact the system administrator who must now provision the Beacon.
