Note: Please read and follow carefully the instruction described below. INSTALLATION Registration 1) Make sure the power to the base unit is switched on. 2) The registration described in this section is based on RTX fixed device, TLE base. This may not be applied to Thomsons fixed device unless the registration procedure is specified by Thomson and agreed by RTX. 3) Whenever an Extension Unit is not registered it will transmit a special pattern by pulsating the line voltage. When the base station sees this special pattern, it knows that it is connected to an unregistered Extension Unit instead of a normal line and enters registration mode. In this mode the base and the Extension Unit will exchange the information needed for the registration via the line. 4) To register an unregistered extension unit (LED will indicate this state by being red), all that has to be done is connect the RJ12 plug on the extension unit to the RJ12 plug on the base station using the normal cable from the Extension Unit. After some time the registration will be complete and the LED on the extension unit will indicate slow flash between green and red followed by green to indicate locked. 5)The time to make a registration differs depending on the number of registrations. Normally it will take around 7 seconds, but it may take up to a minute.
* In order to register an already registered extension unit to a new system it must first be deregistered as described in next section and then registered to the. Deregistration 1) The registration in an extension unit is deleted by power cycling the unit 5 times after each other. The power must not be on for more than 4 seconds at time during this. 2) In practice the procedure is as follows: When an extension unit is registered, its LED will initially slow flash between green and red. This means that the first color after power up is not red. To deregister all you have to do is keep power cycling the extension unit as soon as you see its LED is not red after power on. After the 5th power up the LED will be red indicating that the extension unit is not registered any longer.
* Note, that deregistering an extension unit only removes the subscription data from the extension unit, not from the base. TROUBLESHOOTING Extension unit LED off Description No power green slow flash green slow flash between green and red red fast flash red for 5 seconds Unit locked to base Unit in call Unit registered, but not locked to base. LED is initially green, so that at startup it is immediately visible, that the EU is registered (important for the deregistration procedure). Unit not registered. Normal operation, the Unit locked to base. Normal operation, the unit in call Check that both units (PABX and Extension) are properly con-nected to power outlet and switched on.Decrease the distance between the units by relocating the Base unit to a telephone socket closer to the Extension unit.
