3 Place the CR2032 battery (positive side up, i.e. text facing up) into the battery case in the back of Locate It Device, it is automatically turned on. Or press the Locate It Devices Function Button once to turn it on if the battery is already in the battery case. It should beep once to indicate that it is powered on. To power off, press and hold the same button until two confirmation beeps sound, then release the button, two short beeps will sound to indicate that it is powered off. 01.2 Check For Updates:
To use the Find My app to locate this item, the latest version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS is recommended. The Find Items app on Apple Watch requires the latest version of watchOS. Locate It Device User Manual 4 02 Add Your Locate It Device 02.1 Start The APP Open Find My app on your supported iPhone or iPad. 02.2 Connect Your Locate It Device Press the function button once to power on your Locate It Device. Tap+, then Add Other Item. Once your Locate It Device is located, tap Connect. Enter a name and choose an emoji for your Locate It Device and tap Continue. Find My will ask for confirmation to add your Locate It Device to your Apple ID, tap Agree. Tap Finish and your Locate It Device will be set up and ready to be used. Locate It Device User Manual 5 03 Locate Your Locate It Device 03.1 Find Locate It Device When Its Nearby:
Open Find My app and select the Item tab or open the Find Items app on your Apple Watch. Tap on your Locate It Device from the list. Tap Play Sound to make your Locate It Device beep. Tap Stop Sound to stop the beeps once you find. 03.2 Find Locate It Devices Location:
Open Find My app and select the Items tab or open the Find Items app on your Apple Watch. Tap on your Locate It Device from the list. Your Locate It Devices location will appear on the Map with a time stamp of when the Items was located. To navigate to the Locate It Devices location, tap Directions to open Apple Maps. Locate It Device User Manual 04 Notifications 6 04.1 Enabling Notify When Left Behind:
Open Find My app and select the Items tab or open the Find Items app on your Apple Watch. Tap on your Locate It Device from the list. Under Notifications enable the Notify When Left Behind toggle. You will receive a notification when you leave your Locate It Device behind and its no longer in range of your device. 04.2 Enabling Notify When Found:
When your Locate It Device has been put into Lost Mode, under Notifications, you can enable the Notify When Found toggle. When your Locate It Device is seen by another Find My network device, you will receive a notification of its location. Note: Notify When Found can also be activated when your Locate It Device is out of range. Locate It Device User Manual 7 05 When Your Locate It Device Is Lost 05.1 Enabling Lost Mode:
Open Find My app and select the Items tab or open the Find Items app on your Apple Watch. Tap on your Locate It Device from the list. Under Lost Mode tap Enable. A screen detailing Lost Mode will pop up, tap Continue. Enter Your phone number or email address and tap Next. You may enter a message that will be shared with the person that finds your Item. Tap Activate to enable Lost Mode. Note: When Lost Mode is enabled, Notify When Found is automatically enabled. Note: When Lost Mode is enabled, your Locate It Device is locked and cannot be paired to a new device. Locate It Device User Manual 8 06 Lookup Serial Number 06.1 Search The Locate It Device:
Open Find My app. Select Items, swipe up, and select Identify Found Item. Select the Locate It Device and select Continue. 06.2 Follow Instructions For Lookup Serial Number:
Locate the button in the back of the Locate It Device. Press and hold the button for six seconds. Three beeps will sound while the button is depressed. Release the button. Two confirmation beeps will sound. In the Find My app, Select Continue On Website, you will see the Serial Number information. Locate It Device User Manual 9 07 Resetting Locate It Device 07.1 Remove The Locate It Device From Find My app:
Open Find My app and select the Items tab. Tap on your Locate It Device from the list. Please ensure Lost Mode is disabled. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Remove Item. A summary will open, tap Remove to confirm. 07.2 Factory Reset Your Locate It Device:
Locate the button in the back of the Locate It Device. After successfully removing the Locate It Device from Find My app, press and hold the Locate It Devices Function Button until four or more confirmation beeps sound, then release the button, three short beeps will sound to indicate that it is factory reset. The Locate It Device is now ready to be paired to a new Apple ID. Locate It Device User Manual 08 Extras 10 08.1 Replace The Battery:
Open the battery cover in the back of your Locate It Device. Replace the battery with a new CR2032 battery placing it positive side up (text facing up). Carefully close the battery cover in the back of your Locate It Device. 08.2 Unwanted Tracking If any Find My network accessory separated from its owner is seen moving with you over time, you'll be notified in one of the two ways:
1. lf you have an iPhone or iPad, Find My will send a notification to your Apple device. This feature is available on iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later. 2. lf you don't have an iOS device, a Find My network accessory that isn't with its owner for a period of time will emit a sound when it's moved. These features were created specifically to discourage people from trying to track you without your knowledge.
