MAINTENANCE TheSulLoggersensorhasnoactivefoulinghandling, andthe sensor head therefore needs periodic cleaning. The necessary cleaningfrequencydependsverymuchonthetypeofwastewater andontheturbulencearoundthesensor. Stagnantwatergives idealconditionsforbiofouling,andwhenchoosingamountingpo-
sitionitisthereforeadvisabletolookforapositionwithrelatively highow/turbulence. For new installations it is recommended to clean and calibrate thesensoronetimeperweektoensurestableoperations. When moreexperiencehasbeengainedontheactualfoulingrateatthe installationsite, thismaintenancefrequencymaybechanged. CLEANING TheSulLoggersensorsdurabledesignmakescleaningeasy. Removeanyaccumulatedrags/bersandlargerdebrisfrom thesensor. Wipeoffthesensorheadwithacloth. Takespecialcareto ensurethattheinletslit(s)atthefrontofthesensorheadis completelyclean. Ifneededusewateroramildsoaptocleanthesensorhead. This is especially important if a greasy layer has build up on the sensor or if a layer of biolm can be directly seen. Ethanolcanalsobeused. CALIBRATION TheSulLoggersensorcomesfactorycalibratedandisassuch ready to use immediately as received. However, calibration in 7
theeldcanbeagoodwaytoensurethatthesensorkeepsthe absoluteaccuracyafterprolongeddeployment. Initiallyitisrec-
ommended to calibrate the sensor before installation and sub-
sequently once every month, but this can be subject to specic installationconditions. Thecalibrationprocedureissimpleandhasnodemandforaccess toSCADAvaluesorconnectionofcomputer/laptoporotherdata viewingdevices. ThecalibrationroutinereliesontheSulLogger sensors internal detection capability of the calibration gas and on the presence of a magnetic switch which is activated by the calibrationcap. TROUBLESHOOTING Problem: The SulLogger App does not recognize the SulLog-
