Type acceptance under Part 83, for use on frequencies below 4 MHz, was withdrawn effective January 1, 1977, except that use of A3 emission on the frequency 2182 kHz for distress and safety communications only is permitted until further notice Type acceptance under Part 83, for use on frequencies above 4 MHz was withdrawn effective January 1, 1974. Type acceptance under Part 90 also has been withdrawn.
