Type accepted for licensing in the Maritime Mobile Service under Part 80 as an emergency position indicating radiobeacon (EPIRB) station transmitter. This transmitter meets the requirements for "Class A" EPIRB stations. However, in some cases, the unit must be used with a specific mounting bracket assembly provided by the EPIRB manufacturer in order to satisfy the requirements for "Class A" stations.
