r e t l i f 01 Infotainment Overview Overview of the infotainment system The infotainment system includes for example the truck's audio system and Bluetooth connectivity. 1 0 t n e m n i a t o f n I WARNING Do not use the infotainment system in such a way that it interferes with safe and attentive operation of the truck. When driving, keep your attention to the road. Infotainment tasks that require your attention should be done when the truck is stationary. Examples of such tasks are managing connected devices or adjusting the audio settings. 1 Display 2 USB port 3 Control panel 4 Steering wheel keypads 5 Microphone In the display you can see all the available menus and functions of the infotainment system. , Controlling the infotainment system You can use the following controls to control the functions in the infotainment system:
4 Down. Navigate down in the display. 5 OK. Select a highlighted item. 6 Home. Return to the display's home screen. 7 Menu. Open the main menu. The steering wheel keypads 8 Push to talk. Activate voice control. The control panel Some functions can be controlled only by the steering wheel keypad. Steering wheel keypads 9 Accept. Open the app PHONE or answer an incoming call. 10 End/reject. End a call or reject an incoming call. 11 Back. Return to the previously viewed screen. 12 Media. Open the app MEDIA. NOTE If there is no save option on the screen, any changes that have been done are automatically saved when you select Back. If there is a save option, and if you do not select Save before you select Back, any changes are disregarded. 1 Mute. 2 Reduce volume. 3 Increase volume.

r e t l i f X REM2.1_draft_2022-02-17 5 PHONE A short introduction to Phone When a mobile phone or other device with a SIM card is connected to the truck by Bluetooth, the infotainment system in the truck works as a handsfree for the connected device. The audio is routed via the truck's loudspeakers and a microphone is fitted in the panel above the windscreen on the driver's side. Opening Phone To open the app PHONE, do any of the following:
Press the Accept key in the steering wheel keypad. Press the Phone key in the control panel. 1 0 t n e m n i a t o f n I 6 Connecting your mobile phone PHONE works only when a device with a SIM card is connected to the truck by Bluetooth. If you open PHONE with no device connected, you must first connect a device. You can have up to two devices connected, but only one at a time can be used for phone. 1 Make sure that the device you want to connect has Bluetooth on and that it is discoverable. 2 Select Yes. The truck searches for available Bluetooth devices. 3 Select the device from the list of available Bluetooth devices. 4 Check that the number in the display and the number shown on the device matches. If they do, accept the paring on the device. If the infotainment system has paired devices saved, you can connect a device in two ways. You can either search for available Bluetooth devices or you can connect a previously paired device from the device history. Press the Down key to open the Options menu and select Search for Devices or Paired Devices. If you select Search for Devices, do as follows to connect a device:
1 Make sure that the device you want to connect has Bluetooth on and that it is discoverable. 2 Select the device from the list of available Bluetooth devices. 3 Check that the number in the display and the number shown on the device matches. If they do, accept the paring on the device. If you select Paired Devices, do as follows to connect a device:
1 Make sure that the device you want to connect has Bluetooth on. 2 Select the device from the list of paired Bluetooth devices. 3 Select Connect. The first device you connect will automatically be used for both phone and media. If you want to connect a second device, select Search for Devices or Paired Devices again. When you connect the second device, you choose if the second device should be used for media only or for phone and media. If you select Media, the first connected device will be used for phone only. r e t l i f Changing what a device is used for A device that is used for media can be set to be used for both phone and media instead. The device that is used for phone will then be be disconnected. To change the use of a device from media to phone and media, do as follows:
1 Go the list of connected devices in the top of the Options menu. 2 Select the device that is used for media. 3 Select Phone + Media. Managing devices To disconnect a device, select the device and select Disconnect. To remove a device from the list of paired devices, select the device in the list and select Forget. Making a phone call A phone call can be made in different ways:
Call a number or contact that is in your call history. Call someone that is stored as a contact. Manually enter a phone number. Making a call from the call history Open PHONE and select Recent in the display. The Recent icon. To make a call, select a number or contact from the list. Making a call from Contacts Open PHONE and select Contacts in the display. PHONE 1 0 Calling a contact If a contact has only one phone number stored, a phone call is made directly when you select the contact. The More icon on a contacts row shows that the contact has more than one phone number stored. When you select the contact, a list with all stored information for that contact is shown. When you have entered the number, select Call in the display or press the Accept key in the steering wheel keypad to make the call. The Call icon in the display. Ending a phone call To end a phone call, press the End/
Reject key in the steering wheel keypad. Accepting or rejecting a phone call When a connected phone receives an incoming call, a pop-up appears in the display. You can choose to answer the call or reject it. Accepting the call To answer the call, do any of the following:
1 Press the Accept key in the steering wheel keypad. 2 Select Answer in the display. Rejecting the call To reject the call, do any of the following:
Press the End/Reject key in the steering wheel keypad. Select Reject in the display. Bluetooth Settings In Bluetooth Settings, you can turn Bluetooth on or off and you can select if the truck should be discoverable or not. To access Bluetooth Settings, open PHONE and use the Down key to scroll down to Bluetooth Settings. Press OK to select it. If you set Discoverable mode to on, your truck can be discovered by other Bluetooth devices. When Discoverable mode is highlighted, press OK to toggle the function on or off. Devices can be connected to the infotainment system through Bluetooth or USB. Opening Media To open Media, press the Media key in the steering wheel keypad or in the control panel. Selecting a source When you open Media, the last selected source will show in the display. If you previously have not selected a source, FM radio will be selected automatically. If you want to change source, press the down key in the steering wheel keypad to open the Sources menu. Any current source is marked with "Active". Select the source you want from the list. Adjusting the volume You can control the volume in two ways:
Turn the knob on the control panel clockwise or counterclockwise. Press the volume control keys in the steering wheel keypad. If you want to mute the speakers, press the Mute key in the steering wheel keypad. To unmute, press the same key again or raise the volume. Listening to radio When you select FM, AM or DAB radio as source, the last selected radio station will start playing. Switching between stations When you listen to FM or AM radio, you can use the Next or Previous key in the control panel to switch between stations. Manual tuning If you have selected FM or AM as source and want to manually search for a radio station, select Browse. Use the Left or the Right key in the steering wheel keypad to change the frequency. A short-press fine-tunes the frequency in steps of 0.1, up or down. If you long-press, the tuner finds the next available station. Adding a preset radio station When you are listening to FM radio, you can save the currently playing radio station as a preset station. Manage the settings for the RDS functions. Adjust the speed dependent volume. Make a factory reset. Alternative Frequency The frequency range for FM stations is fairly limited. For this reason, many stations broadcast on alternative frequencies in different areas. When Alternative Frequency is on, the radio automatically switches to the alternative frequencies as you drive and you can listen to such a station without interruption. You can set Alternative Frequency to Off, Local or Regional. Select Alternative Frequency, then use the Right or Left key in the steering wheel keypad to scroll between the options. Press OK to make your selection. Traffic Announcement When Traffic Announcement is on, traffic announcements will be played even if you listen to another source than radio. When Traffic Announcement is highlighted, press OK to toggle the function on or off. News When News is on, news announcements will be played even if you listen to another source than radio. Speed volume You can set Speed volume to Off, Low, Medium or High. Select Speed volume, then use then use the Right or Left key in the steering wheel keypad to scroll between the options. Press OK to make your selection. t n e m n i a t o f n I 11 Artist When you select a media file, it starts playing. 1 0 t n e m n i a t o f n I MEDIA Listening from a Bluetooth device When you select Bluetooth as source, you can listen to streamed media or media files that are stored on the selected device. Play/Pause Start playing media on the device. When media is playing, press the On/off key in the control panel to pause the media or start playing it again. Listening from a USB device When you select USB as source, see Selecting a source page 10, you can listen to media files that are stored on the selected device. Play/Pause When you select USB as source, media starts playing automatically. When media is playing, press the On/off key in the control panel to pause the media or start playing it again. Skip or fast forward/rewind To skip to the next or previous media file, short-press the Next or the Previous key in the control panel. If you long-press, and if the connected device and the media file supports it, the media file is fast forwarded or rewinded. If you long-press, and if the connected device and the media file supports it, the media file is fast forwarded or rewinded. Browsing a USB device You can browse for media files on the USB device. r e t l i f Audio settings In Audio Settings you can change the settings for audio. When a setting's row is highlighted, press the Right or the Left key in the steering wheel keypad to adjust the setting. The setting is autmatically saved when you move the highlight to the next row. Bass With the Bass setting, you can adjust the strength of the low frequency components. Mid With the Mid setting, you can adjust the strength of the middle frequency components. Treble With the Treble setting, you can adjust the strength of the high frequency components. Balance With the Balance setting, you can adjust the strength of the sound coming from the right speakers and the left speakers. Fader With the Fader setting, you can adjust the strength of the sound coming from the front speakers and the rear speakers.
