1.5 Bluetooth Halo Aerial Technology Antenna The Bluetooth Halo Aerial Technology antenna AQ-BTANT-1 (included) improves the standard Bluetooth wireless signal and range, for a stronger signal and increased range. Please read the precautions and installation instructions below before installing the AQ-
BTANT-1 Bluetooth Antenna. 1.5.1 Bluetooth Halo Aerial Technology Precautions Connect the Bluetooth Halo Aerial Technology Antenna (AQ-BTANT-1) to the male SMA connector. Do not apply excessive torque on the SMA connector (no more than 0.5N-m). Use hands to tighten the connection (do not use a wrench). To ensure that the range is maximized, make sure the arrow is pointing directly upwards towards the sky when the antenna is mounted. If there is excess antenna cable length make sure this is coiled and not bent as bending may cause damage to the cable. For spa or hot tub installation the antenna should be located above the waterline otherwise Bluetooth range will be drastically reduced. 1.5.2 Bluetooth Halo Aerial Technology Installation 1. Connect the Bluetooth Antennas cable to the Halo Aerial Technology connector on the control panel, ensuring it is fully secure by turning clockwise until it is finger tight. 2. Make sure the arrow is pointing directly upwards towards the sky when the antenna is mounted to ensure the Bluetooth range is maximized. 3. Screw on the provided Bluetooth Antenna, avoiding bending the cable at more than a 60 angle. If there is no suitable surface to screw in to, we recommend using a good quality double sided tape. 6.1 Specifications Media Supported Media.................................... 5.5 Connecting Multiple Amplifiers or High Current Draw Lighting Systems 1.6 Power Attenuation Wires Wiring a Single Pull Single Throw (SPST) Relay 12V DC output for amplifier The SPST is necessary to protect the stereo in systems with multiple amplifiers. The SWA6+ remote and trigger wire provide 2A max current. While this enough to power a single amplifier, complex systems with multiple amplifiers will require a SPST relay. Position 30: requires 12VDC from the main power source (12V battery, power supply etc). This should be the same power source that is powering your stereo. Position 85: this is where you connect your ground from your power source (12V battery, power supply, etc.) This should be the same ground reference as your stereo. 87 87 30 86 Main 12V DC input (fused) 85 Common Ground Triggered 12V DC from stereo (Blue or Brown wire) Position 86: position 86 is triggered 12V, and is sent when your stereo is powered on. The SWA6+ Combined Stereo Subwoofers power can be reduced or increased to suit different applications. An output level of -3dB or -6dB should be used to avoid blowing very small speakers, often used in spa applications. Black Wire Intact (not cut) Intact (not cut) Cut Cut White Wire Intact (not cut) Cut Intact (not cut) Cut Output Level
-3dB
-6dB 0dB (reference)
+6dB By cutting only the white wire the output level will decrease to -6dB below the nominal 0dB. By cutting both the white and black wires the power/volume will increase to +6dB above the nominal 0dB. By cutting only the black wire the power/volume will increase from -3dB to the nominal 0dB. These modifications should only be carried out by an experienced audio installer. Should you cut the wrong wires or wish to reconnect them to further alter the attenuation, the Power Attenuation Wires can be crimped back together. For Aquatic AV stereos position 86 can be connected to either the blue remote wire in the harness or the brown 12V trigger on the rear of the unit. The differences are below:
1.7 Power On Blue (recommended): The blue (remote wire) provides a 12VDC output when the stereo is powered on. Meaning as soon as the stereo is powered on the blue wire sends 12VDC through the relay powering on the amplifier. Brown: the brown (12V Trigger) provides 12VDC output when it is triggered via the lightning bolt icon on the faceplate or handheld remote. This setup is more advantageous is a more complex system with several zones, as it gives you control of when an amp is on or off. Position 87: this is the 12VDC output that you will provide 12VDC to the remote turn on to the amplifiers in your system. The SWA6+ requires +12V DC to both the red and yellow wires. When both of these wires have power the SWA6+ is always powered on, and the green Power On LED will remain illuminated. Ground is connected to the black wire. In a spa application this requires the red and yellow wires to be jumped together and then connected to the +12VDC output of the power source. In this set up the SWA6+ will always be on, with a very low current draw when idle. In a boat, ATV or other application requiring power from a battery, the yellow wire (constant power) should be connected to the battery, and the red wire should be connected to the ignition or a switch.
