Requiments are two two These defined categories categories are Occupational/ Controlled Exposure defined Three different categories of transmitters are defined by the FCC in OET Bulletin 65. These categories are fixed installation, mobile, and portable and are defined as follows: o Fixed Installations: fixed location means that the device, including its antenna, is physically secured at a permanent location and is not able to be easily moved to another location. Additionally, distance to humans from the antenna is maintained to at least 2 meters. o Mobile Devices: a mobile device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used in other than fixed locations and to be generally used in such a way that a separation distance of at least 20 centimeters is normally maintained between the transmitter's radiating structures and the body of the user or nearby persons. Transmitters designed to be used by consumers or workers that can be easily re-located, such as a wireless modem operating in a laptop computer, are considered mobile devices if they meet the 20 centimeter separation requirement. The FCC rules for evaluating mobile devices for RF compliance are found in 47 CFR 2.1091. o Portable Devices: a portable device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used so that the radiating structure(s) of the device is/are within 20 centimeters of the body of the user. Portable device requirements are found in Section 2.1093 of the FCC's Rules (47 CFR2.1093). The FCC also categorizes the use of the device as based upon the users awareness and ability to exercise control over his or her exposure. The and General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure. follows:
Occupational/Controlled Exposure: In general, occupational/controlled exposure limits are applicable to situations in which persons are exposed as a consequence of their employment, who have been made fully aware of the potential for exposure and can exercise control over their exposure. This exposure category is also applicable when the exposure is of a transient nature due to incidental passage through a location where the exposure levels may be higher than the general population/uncontrolled limits, but the exposed person is fully aware of the potential for exposure and can exercise control over his or her exposure by leaving the area or by some other appropriate means. Awareness of the potential for RF exposure in a workplace or similar environment can be provided through specific training as part of a RF safety program. If appropriate, warning signs and labels can also be used to establish such awareness by providing prominent information on the risk of potential exposure and instructions on methods to minimize such exposure risks. General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure: The general population /
uncontrolled exposure limits are applicable to situations in which the general public may be exposed or in which persons who are exposed as a consequence of their employment may not be made fully aware of the potential for exposure or cannot exercise control over their exposure. Members of the general public would come under this category when exposure is not employment-related; for example, in the case of a wireless transmitter that exposes persons in its vicinity. Warning labels placed on low-power consumer devices such as cellular telephones are not considered sufficient to allow the device to be considered under the occupational/controlled category, and the general population/uncontrolled exposure limits apply to these devices. as TRF NO. FCC15 C/A Page 8 of 12 Report No.: ES190626049W02 Rev.1.0 Access to the World 4.3. Test configuration 1, The field strength of both E-field and H-field was measured at 15cm(the 15 cm measured from the center of the probe(s) to the edge of the device) using the equipment list above for determining compliance with the MPE requirements of FCC Part 1.1310. 2, The RF power density was measured at 3 ifferent charge conditions:. min load, mid load, max load. 3, Maximum E-field and H-field measurements were made 15cm from each side of the EUT. Along the side of the EUT and still 15cm away from the edge of the EUT, the field probes were positioned at the location where there is maximum field strength. The maximum E-field and H-field is reported below. 4, This device uses a wireless charging circuit for power transfer operating at the frequency of 111 205kHz. Thus, the 300kHz limits were used: E-field Limit = 614 (V/m); H-field limit = 1.63 (A/m). TRF NO. FCC15 C/A Page 9 of 12 Report No.: ES190626049W02 Rev.1.0 Access to the World 4.4. 56.0 60.0 46.0 50.0 NOTE1-The lower limit shall apply at the transition frequencies. NOTE2-The limit decreases linearly with the logarithm of the frequency in the range 0.15MHz to 0.50MHz. 5.3. Test Procedure The EUT was placed on a desk 0.8 m height from the metal ground plane and 0.4 m from the conducting wall of the shielding room and it was kept at least 0.8 m from any other grounded conducting surface. The size of the table will nominally be 1.5 m x1.0 m. The rear of the arrangement shall be flush with the back of the supporting tabletop unless that would not be possible or typical of normal use. All units of equipment forming the system under test (includes the EUT as well as connected peripherals and associated equipment or devices) shall be arranged such that a nominal 0.1 m separation is achieved between the neighboring units. Connect EUT to the power mains through a line impedance stabilization network (LISN). Where the mains cable supplied by the manufacturer is longer than 1 m, the excess should be folded at the centre into a bundle no longer than 0.4 m, so that its length is shortened to 1 m. All the support units are connecting to the other LISN. The LISN provides 50 ohm coupling impedance for the measuring instrument. TRF NO. FCC Part 15C Page 11 of 25 Report No.: ES190626049W01 Ver.1.0 Both sides of AC line were checked for maximum conducted interference. The frequency range from 150 kHz to 30 MHz was sweep. Set the test-receiver system to quasi peak detect function and average detect function, and to measure the conducted emissions values. Test results were obtained from the following equation:
Emission Level (dBV) = LISN Factor (dB) + Cable Loss (dB) + Reading (dBV) Margin (dB) = Emission Level (dBV) - Limit (dBV) 5.4. Measuring Results PASS. TRF NO. FCC Part 15C Page 14 of 25 Report No.: ES190626049W01 Ver.1.0 6. RADIATED EMISSION TEST 6.1. Measurement Procedure 1. The EUT was placed on a turn table which is 0.8m above ground plane. 2. Maximum procedure was performed on the six highest emissions to ensure EUT compliance. 3. And also, each emission was to be maximized by changing the polarization of receiving antenna both horizontal and vertical. 4. Repeat above procedures until all frequency measured were complete. 5. Use the following receiver/spectrum analyzer settings:
Span = wide enough to fully capture the emission being measured RBW=200Hz for 9KHz to 150KHz, RBW=9kHz for 150KHz to 30MHz, RBW=120KHz for 30MHz to 1GHz VBW 3*RBW Sweep = auto Detector function = QP Trace = max hold 6.2. Test SET-UP (Block Diagram of Configuration)
