RF Exposure:
Ensure that the distance between inside and outside antennas is a minimum of 100 feet for the amplifier. For Additional technical support, please visit our web site www.bostonamplifier.com Tel: 310-318-9810 Fax: 310-937-7219 Installation Guide Installation Guide Signal Sensing Technology (SST ) is deigned in all Bi-
Directional Amplifiers. This Signal Sensing Technology
(SST) will determine if the External and Internal Antennas have enough separation during installation. SST Protection:
- It will avoid over heating.
- It will avoid week transmit & receive signals due to the antennas not having enough separation.
- It will provide visual alarm if the antenna separation is not sufficient.
- It will automatically power down the unit till antenna separation is fixed. It will automatically power up once the antenna separation is to be sufficient. SST Visual Alarm:
1. On power-up, the RED Light (Power ON) shows that the unit is on. Simultaneously the Alarm RED Light blinking and then turn into GREEN, Light, which indicates that the both antennas have the proper separation. Figure 1 2. When Antenna Isolation is not OK and the Alarm Red Light Blinking as shown in figure 2, which mean that, the external and internal antennas are too close to each other and need to be moved further apart. Figure 2 3. Separate the external antenna away from the internal antenna until you observe the Green SST Light is ON, as shown in figure 1. 4. Do not turn the power off the unit if the Alarm Red Light Blinks. It has automatic signal sensing technology, which will protect the unit from over heating and making the unit more efficient in performance. 1 2 in-building cellular amplifier INSTAllATION guIDE bda-819-603 Kit bda-800-603 Kit bda-1900-603 Kit WHAT IS IN THE BOX?
1- Mounting bracket and pole for yagi antenna 2-Outside yagi antenna and 50' of coaxial cable 3-In-building bi-directional amplifier with AC/DC 110 volt power supply 4-In-building panel antenna and 25 of coaxial cable 1 2 3 4 INSTAllATION Step 1: Determine the locations of the outside antenna, inside antenna, and BDA taking into consideration the coaxial cable lengths of 50' & 25'. Also the BDA needs to be close to a 110 volt plug. Step 2: Inside Panel Antenna Mount the panel antenna on a wall pointing towards the area where you want to increase the cellular coverage. Step 5: Antenna & Power Connections DO NOT POWER UP THE BDA UNTIL ALL CABLES ARE CONNECTED TO THE ANTENNAS & BDA!
The yagi antenna cable is connected to the end of the BDA that says Antenna and the inside panel antenna cable is connected to the end of the BDA that says Cell Phone. Power cable is plugged in below the
+12V/24/ PWR. Step 3: Outside Yagi Antenna Mount the bracket and pole outside on the roof or side of the building. Then mount the yagi antenna with the provided U bolts. Point the antenna towards the nearest cell site (if known) and away from the inside panel antenna. Step 4: Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) Mount the BDA close to a 110 volt plug. Step 6: BDA Indicator lights On power up, the RED LED (light closest to the Antenna connection) shows that the BDA has power. The GREEN LED SST light (light closest to the power cable connection) shows green when the antennas have the correct separation. If you have two red lights, the antennas need additional separation. The BDA will correct and optimize the BDA when enough separation is achieved. Disclaimer: This information provided by Boston Amplifier, Inc. is believed to be complete and accurate.
