Always read and obey all safety messages. Child Safety Close supervision is necessary when the Oven is used by or near children. The TempSensor is sharp. Handle with caution and keep out of reach of children. Fire A fire may occur if the Oven is covered or is touching combustible or flammable material
(including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like) when in operation. Do not store any item on top of the Oven when in operation or when hot. Keep the Oven at least 4 inches away from all combustible or flammable material. Do not cover any part of the Oven or crumb tray with metal foil. This can cause overheating of the Oven. Do not place any of the following materials in the Oven: paper, cardboard, plastic, and the like. If material inside the Oven ignites, immediately close the Oven door, turn the Oven off and disconnect the power cord. To turn off oven heating elements, touch Pause on the touch screen then Stop Cook. If cooking in Chef Mode, you can also turn off the heating elements by touching Done then Yes Im Done then No Dont Save. Do not store any materials (other than Brava recommended cooking accessories) in the Oven when not in use. Oversized foods (including foods that may become oversized during cooking) and utensils must not be inserted in the Oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock. The Brava Oven reaches cooking temperatures very quickly. To reduce risk of fire, follow Brava's cooking temperature, cooking time and other cooking recommendations. To reduce the risk of fire, operate the Oven with the crumb tray installed. To reduce the risk of fire, never leave the Oven unattended during operation. Burn The TempSensor, cooking trays and accessories, interior Oven surfaces and liquid from foods will become very hot during and after most uses of the Oven. Use Oven gloves or DRAFT WORK IN PROGRESS NOT FINAL mitts and use extreme care when touching hot surfaces, opening and closing the Oven door and handling the TempSensor, trays and accessories. Be aware that in some Oven modes, such as Bake Mode, the exterior of the Oven may become very hot. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handle. Use extreme caution when removing tray and disposing of hot liquids or grease. Do not remove crumb tray until oven is cool. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Shock To protect against risk of electric shock, connect the Oven only to a properly grounded, three-prong outlet with ground-fault current interruption (GFCI). Do not use adapters or connect to receptacles with only two prongs. Use only on 120V outlets. Not intended outside of the United States. Do not use extension cords. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or Oven in water or other liquid. To protect against electrical shock, do not use the TempSensor while wet. Do not operate the Oven with a damaged cord or plug To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not place Oven adjacent to a sink. To prevent electric shock, unplug before cleaning. Only cook liquids and foods that may generate excessive liquids in a vessel that Brava recommends for that purpose. Excessive liquids may spill and create a shock hazard. Eye Safety Do not stare at light from the Ovens heating elements. The Ovens heating elements are designed to start turning off when the Oven door opens. If the heating elements do not start to turn off when the Oven door opens, immediately close the Oven door, disconnect the power cord, and contact Brava Home, Inc. Customer Care to reduce the risk of damage to your eyes. Note: after the door opens, the heating elements may continue to emit light at diminishing intensity for a few seconds while transitioning from on to off. Undercooked Food In many cases, the Ovens cooking programs may not cook food to the safe minimum internal temperature indicated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Ask your doctor if you are unsure of your risk. If you are unsure of the internal temperature of food cooked in the Oven, use the TempSensor to measure it. Use the Ovens Touch Up function to cook food more thoroughly. Setup and Placement Keep the Oven at least 4 inches away from all combustible or flammable material
(including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like). Place the Oven directly on countertop. Do not place on top of any other materials. Do not place the Oven in a cabinet or similar area. Ensure that the surface supporting the Oven is clean and free of liquids. Do not operate the Oven if liquids, paper, crumbs or other items are under the Oven. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated Oven. To protect against risk of electric shock, connect the Oven only to a properly grounded, three-prong outlet with ground-fault current interruption (GFCI). Do not use adapters or connect to receptacles with only two prongs. Do not use extension cords. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not use outdoors. Cleaning and Care Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts. cleaning. Clean crumb tray after every use. Follow cleaning instructions listed above. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock. General Operation Do not touch or attempt to clean the heating elements yourself. The heating elements are high powered, optically tuned and self-cleaning. The TempSensor is sharp. Handle with caution and keep out of reach of children. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Brava may cause injuries. Do not use any food thermometers with the Oven other than the TempSensor. Only use cooking trays and accessories that are authorized by Brava. Other trays and accessories (including certain microwave-safe plates and bowls, certain glass accessories, and certain porcelain accessories) may not be suitable for use in the Oven and may break or crack. Ensure that the surface supporting the Oven is clean and free of liquids. Do not operate the Oven if liquids, paper, crumbs or other items are under the Oven. If liquids may have spilled inside the Oven, unplug the Oven, wait for the Oven and liquids to cool, and then remove liquids from the Oven chamber, the crumb tray and the surface supporting the Oven. Before cleaning any liquids under the Oven, unplug the Oven and then move it to a dry location. To disconnect Oven from power, remove plug from wall outlet. Do not operate the Oven, TempSensor, or any trays or accessories after it malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. If it appears that the Oven or TempSensor has malfunctioned, contact Brava Customer Care for assistance. For examination, repair, or adjustment of the Oven, contact Brava Customer Care and, if deemed necessary, return the Oven to Brava. Do not use Oven for other than intended use.
