Getting to know your new system YournewPagingTransmittertypicallyresidesinthekitchen,oratthehostessstandtosendmessagesto theindividualPagingTransmitterPagersgiventoyourcustomers.Staffwillusethistransmittereachtime theywishtocallacustomerbacktothehostessstandforseating,ortotheserverytocollecttheirmeals. Thetransmitterisalsousedforsystemprogramming,whichwillbecoveredlaterinthisguide. Operation of your Paging Transmitter Setting the time display on your Paging Transmitter YourPaging Transmitterconvenientlydisplaysa24hourclockwhenthetransmitterisidle. Tosetthe correctcurrenttimeonthetransmitter,pleasefollowthefollowingsteps:
1. Pressthefirsticonbuttononthetoprowofbuttonsonthetransmitter.Theiconlookslikea clockandcalendar. 2. Thedisplaywillthenaskforapassword.Enter9513. 3. PresstheorangeEnterkeyabovethegreenSendkey. 4. YourtransmitterwillnowdisplaySetDate/TimePleaseenterthecurrentdateandtimeinthe formatofDDMMYYfordate,andHH:MMforthe24hourtime. 5. PresstheorangeEnterbuttonwhenfinished. 6. Youwillthenbereturnedtothemainidlescreen. Sending a Page AfterremovingaPaging Transmitterpagerfromitschargingrack,thepagerwillfirstdoaselftest, vibrating2timesandflashingitsLEDlights.Thistestletsyouknowthatyourpagerisfunctioning properly.TakenoteofthepagernumberontheLEDscreen,oronthesickeronthefrontofthepager. Whenyouneedtocallthepagerback,useyourtransmittertosendapage:
1. Fromyourtransmitter,enterthepagernumberonthekeypad. 2. Pressthegreensendbuttonontherighthandside. Yourpagerhasnowbeenaltered.Returnthepagertoachargingracktoclearthealertandprepareitfor itsnextuse. Changing the length of time that a Customer pager tones TheremaybeasituationwhereyouwouldliketochangethelengthoftimethataPagingTransmitter CustomerPageralertsfor.Bydefault,theCustomerPagerwilltonecontinuouslyfor2minutes.Thismay beneededifyourCustomerPagersarenotimmediatelyreturnedtothechargingrackafterfood collection,orifthepagerisnotretunedbacktotherackuntilafteranappointmentiscompleted. ThesechangesaredonefromyourPagingTransmitter.Itisalsohighlyrecommendedtomakesurethat allofthepagersarecollectedinfromyourfloorbeforechangingthisfeature,asnottoalertcustomers thatmaybewaitingtobecalled. Toperformthisprocedure,allchargingracksmustbeunpluggedatthewall.Whenyouunplugyour chargingracks,youmaynoticethatallofthepagersinthatrackvibrate2timesandflashtheirLEDs. Thisisnormalbehaviourandcanbeignored.Afterthisprocedureiscomplete,allofyourpagerswill alertatthesametimefortheamountoftimeyouchangeditto.Thistonewillletyouknowthatthe pagersreceivedtheinstructionscorrectly.Toresetthepagers,simplyreplugtheracksintothewall. Youwillthenbereturnedtothemainidlescreen.Atthispoint,allofthepagersinyoursystemshould tonefortheamountoftimethatyouselected.Toresetthepagersandstopthetones,plugtheCharging Racksbackintothepower. Changing the Type of Alert on your Customer Pagers TheremaybeatimewhereitwouldbeconvenienttochangethetypeofthealertyourPaging TransmitterPagersuse.Forexample,ifyouarehavingaquietfunctionwhereyouwouldliketokeep noisetoaminimum,youcouldsetyourPaging TransmitterCustomerpagerstoVibrateandFlashonly, forgoingthebeeptokeepambientnoisedown,andtheeveningmoreenjoyableforyourcustomers. ThesechangesaredonefromyourPagingTransmitter.Itisalsohighlyrecommendedtomakesurethat allofthepagersarecollectedinfromyourfloorbeforechangingthisfeature,asnottoalertcustomers thatmaybewaitingtobecalled. Toperformthisprocedure,allchargingracksmustbeunpluggedatthewall.Whenyouunplugyour chargingracks,youmaynoticethatallofthepagersinthatrackvibrate2timesandflashtheirLEDs. Putting the Paging Transmitter Customer Pagers to Sleep IfyourPaging TransmitterPagersserveanareathatisnotusedveryoften,suchasconferencerooms,or receptionhalls,youmayfinditbeneficialtoputthepagerstosleep.Puttingthepagerstosleepsimply meanssettingthepagerstoturnoff.Whenpagersareasleep,theydonottonewhentheyarepaged, andtheyalsodonottoneifthebatteriesarelowiftheyaredisconnectedfromtheChargingRack.This mayalsoprovehelpfulifyoumoveyourPaging Transmitterfromsitetositeasacateringcompanymay. ThiscommandissentfromyourPagingTransmitter.Itisalsohighlyrecommendedtomakesurethatall ofthepagersarecollectedinfromyourfloorbeforechangingthisfeature,asnottoalertcustomersthat maybewaitingtobecalled. Toperformthisprocedure,allchargingracksmustbeunpluggedatthewall.Whenyouunplugyour chargingracks,youmaynoticethatallofthepagersinthatrackvibrate2timesandflashtheirLEDs. Thisisnormalbehaviourandcanbeignored.Afterthisprocedureiscomplete,allofyourpageswill essentiallyturnoff.NoLEDswilldisplay,andwithPaging TransmitterVoicePagers,theLCDNumber displaywillalsogoout.Towakepagers,simplyreplugtheracksintothewall.
