Nemko North America, Inc. 303 River Road Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1V 1H2 Justification Letter for Extended Frequencies FCC ID: ZD8C5K-PA The applicant, on behalf of our customer (Collins Aerospace), submits the justification for extended frequencies for the following rationale:

1. Printed name: G This amplifier does not control the input frequencies and as such only amplifies the selected frequencies of the exciter that is certified separately from the amplifier. The amplifier frequency is set at the exciter and is the responsibility of Authorized Service Personnel. The Amplifier does not have programmability for setting frequencies. The customer is replacing an existing amplifier for ongoing use in the Commercial Aviation space. They have the professional operators use for communicating with planes as they cross remote areas, such as the transoceanic crossings. Limiting the ability to select rated frequencies in at the amplifier could potentially pose a safety issue in an emergency or irregular situation. This amplifier is also under consideration for use in future military applications. The below band list reflects the frequencies that the exciter will transmit through the PA under normal conditions.
