This device uses communication via electromagnetic waves
(Wi-Fi, Bluetooth). If used near common telephones, televisions or radios it may have a negative effect, there-
fore use as far away as possible. Do not place near air conditioner outlets. Sudden temperature change may result in condensation and internal corrosion, causing damage. Do not use this device in near proximity to objects with a magnetic field. Doing so could result in erroneous operations. Do not subject this device under strain. If this device is placed in a heavily packed bag, etc., it could result in damage of the display or internal printed circuit board, malfunctions, etc. Also, if this device is placed in a bag with an externally connected device still inserted in the external connection port or headphones still in the ear-
phone port, it could result in connector damage or malfunction. Precautions when operating the touchscreen Do not press the touchscreen too hard with your finger or sharp objects (fingernails, ball pens, pins, etc.). Doing so could result in damage. The touchscreen is designed to be touched lightly with the finger. Do not make unauthorized changes to the basic software (Android OS) . Doing so could be used as a reason to refuse repairs if it is seen as a software modification. Precautions when using the microSD card Do not remove the microSD card when it is in use (writing, reading, etc.) or turn of this devices power. Doing so could result in data being erased or malfuntioning. Battery & Charging If this device is used while being charged, it may take longer to become fully charged or it may not fully charge. This device or the AC adaptor may heat up during charging but this is not abnormal. If this device becomes hot, charging may cease temporarily for the sake of safety. Cease use immediately if this device becomes too hot. If charging of this device begins from a battery empty state, it may not start up immediately when it is turned on. In such a case, charge with the power off and wait a while before turning power on. The built-in battery is a consumable item. Each time it is charged, the length of time it can be used in one go shortens. If the length of time it can be used shortens to around half of when it was first purchased, this is indi-
cation that the built-in batterys life is close to expiring, so we recommend replacement early on. Please contact our support center regarding replacement of the built-in battery. Using electromagnetic waves Turn off this devices power in places where its use is prohibited such as onboard aircraft, inside hospitals, etc. It may have a negative effect on electronic devices or electrical medical equipment. Observe the instructions of individual medical institutions regarding use of the table. If you use pacemakers or other electrical medical equipment, confirm the effects of electromagnetic waves with the electrical medical equipment manufacturer or store of purchase. You will be punished by law if you use this device in a prohibited manner such as onboard an aircraft, etc. How-
ever, if it can be used on an aircraft by setting it to flight mode in which electromagnetic waves are not emitted, do so in accordance with the airlines instructions. Handling near electrical medical equipment. The contents of this manual comply with the Policies related to usage of mobile phone devices, etc., in order to pre-
vent signals from effecting electrical medical equipment (Electromagnetic Compatibility Conference Japan). Warning: Use the device observing the following when at medical institutions. Do not take this device into operating rooms, intensive care units (ICU) or coronary care units (CCU). Turn this device off in hospital wards. Turn this device off even if close to electrical medical equipment such as in lobbies, etc. If the medical institution you are visiting has rules on items forbidden for use or possession, etc., follow the instructions of that medical institution. Turn this device off in crowded places such as packed trains, etc., as someone nearby may have an implantable cardiac pacemaker or implantable cardio-verter defibrillator. The electromagnetic waves may have a negative effect on implantable cardiac pacemakers or implantable 15 cardio-verter defibrillators Requests regarding use of Wi-Fi and wireless LAN Channels available for use differ between countries. When using Wi-Fi overseas, check the available frequency and regulations, etc., of that country. Wireless LAN (LAN) uses electromagnetic waves for communication, therefore has the advantage of being avail-
able anywhere where the electromagnetic waves reach. However, if security has not been set, a malicious third party may steal or view your communicated content or otherwise invade your privacy. We recommend you set security and use at your judgment and responsibility. Do not use in areas where there is a magnetic field such as near electrical products, AV or OA devices, or where electronic waves are emitted. There may be a large amount of noise or communication may no longer be pos-
sible due to the effects of the magnetic field or electrical noise (This effect is particularly apparent during usage of microwave ovens). If used near televisions, radios, etc., it may affect the television screen through poor reception, etc. It may not be possible to search correctly if there are multiple wireless LAN access points in the near proximity and you are using the same channel. Consult with the airline before using onboard aircraft. If this devices screws are removed and internal modifications are made, the technical standards conformity cer-
tification, etc., will become invalid. Using the device in such a state infringes with the Radio Act therefore please make sure not to use it. Frequency bands Below are the frequency bands which Wi-Fi equipped devices use. Available frequency band: 2412MHz - 2462MHz, 5180MHz - 5240MHz, 5745MHz - 5825MHz Modulation method: DS-SS, OFDM Assumed interference distance: Within 40m Ability to change frequency: Uses the entire range between 2412MHz - 2462MHz and can avoid bands of mobile identification equipment. The device is going on be operated in 5150~5250 frequency range. It is restricted indoor environment only. Requests regarding use of Bluetooth In the frequency bands where this product can be used, apart from microwave ovens, industrial/scientific and medi-
cal equipment, there are on-site wireless stations for mobile identification on plant manufacturing lines, etc., which require licenses, specified low power wireless stations which do not require licenses, and amateur wireless stations, etc. (hereinafter wireless stations) in operation. 1. Before using this product, check that there are no other wireless stations in operation. 2. In the unlikely event that radio wave interference occurs between this product and other wireless stations, promptly change your location or turn of the power, etc., to avoid such interference. 3. This device has a security function in compliance with Bluetooths standard as security for communication us-
ing the Bluetooth function, however security may not be sufficient depending on settings, etc. Be careful when communicating using the Bluetooth function. Please understand that we cannot take responsibility if data or information leaks when communicating using the Bluetooth function. Frequency bands Below are the frequency bands which Bluetooth uses. Available frequency band: 2400MHz Modulation method: FH-SS and other methods (other than DS-SS, /DS-FH/FH-OFDM multiple method/OFDM method) Assumed interference distance: Within 10m Ability to change frequency: Uses the entire range between 2400MHz - 2483.5MHz and cannot avoid bands of mobile identification equipment. Radiation Exposure Statement This device meets the goveenments requirements for exposure to radio waves. This device is designed and manufac-
tured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communica-
tions Commission of the U.S. Government. The exposure standard for wireless device employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions ac-
cepted by the FCC with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.
