1.1 Click Start->All Programs->CathexisInnovations
->IDBlue->PocketPC->Install Asset Management Demo on PocketPC. Go through all of the steps in the installation wizard. 2 Running the Program 2.1 In order to run the program, navigate to Start Menu->Programs. The program is labeled IDBlue Demo with the following

The LED will begin flashing green once per second when is powered on. 4.1 Press and release the device button to start tag scan - LED turns amber. 4.2 Place the nose of the IDBlueTM device within a 5 cm proximity to the spot indicated by the supplied RFID tag. The device LED will flash green upon successful read. If IDBlueTM times-out (i.e. nothing is picked up after 8 seconds), LED will flash red indicating an unsuccessful operation. Note: Do NOT hold down the button. Press AND Release. 4.3 Once a tag is successfully read, tag data and images will be displayed in the Pocket PC IDBlue Demo application screen. 4.4 Enter owner information into Owner field. 4.5 Choose a Department as indicated by the drop down box in the application. 4.6 Select Write on the Demo Application Screen. 4.7 Press and release the device button to start tag scan - LED turns amber. 4.8 Place the nose of the IDBlue Device within a 5 cm proximity to the area indicated by the supplied RFID tag. The device LED will flash green upon successful write. If IDBlue times-out (i.e. nothing is picked up after 8 seconds), LED will flash red indicating an unsuccessful operation. 4.9 When in "amber" scan mode, user has the option to return to initial state by pressing and releasing the button again. Any images assigned to tags must be bitmaps and their filename length can not be greater than one character (e.g. a.bmp). Insert a ballpoint pen or PDA stylus into the small hole on the underside of the device. This will turn off the device. To turn on the device and reinitialize a connection to the Pocket PC and demo application, follow the steps listed in section 2. 8 Recharging the IDBlueTM Device 8.1 Turn off the IDBlueTM device by pressing the reset button located on the underside of the device. The device is off when the LED is no longer blinking. 8.2 Plug the supplied DC adapter into the socket at the end of the IDBlueTM device. 8.3 When charging, the LED on the IDBlueTM device will appear RED. The LED will turn off when the device is fully charged. Note: The IDBlue Device CANNOT be used while charging. A full recharge of the battery will take 1.5 hrs 2 hrs.
