Press the SOURCE button to select viewing source. Press the MENU button to active the OSD menu shown on the LCD screen. Press the MENU button again to close the OSD menu. DVD OPERATING The DVD player has the ability to play DVD, VCD, Audio CD, MP3 audio and MPEG video, as well as display JPEG and BMP images. Make sure you read this section completely before using the DVD section. REGIONAL CODING Both the DVD player and DVD disc are coded by region. These regional codes must match in order for the disc to play. If the codes dont match, the disc wont play. This DVD player will only play region 1 DVD disc. TO PLAY A DVD OR VCD Press the source menu button and select the DVD item. Insert DVD or VCD disc (Label Up), the disc will automatically load. Press the PLAY button on the remote to play selected title. When youd like to stop playing, press the PLAY button again. NOTE: The On Screen Display will show WRONG REGION if the disc region code does not correspond with the unit setting. Pressing the STOP button for the first time brings the DVD player to a pre-stop mode. You can resume playback from this stopped point by pressing the PLAY button. To completely stop playback, press the STOP button twice. MD9 7 INPUT SOURCE OPERATION Press SOURCE button to open INPUT SOURCE MENU. Then press SOURCE button to scroll through INPUT SOURCE from top to bottom. Pressing ENTER or PLAY button will change to the chosen SOURCE. MD9 8 VIDEO DISCs VIDEO DISCs Playback 1. Press the Source button and select DVD as the input source. 2. Press the EJECT button to eject the disc. 3. Place the disc with the label side facing up and the recorded side facing down. 4. The DVD player will begin to read the disc information and starts playback. 5. Depending on the content of the disc, a menu or navigation screen may appear. Please use the navigation ARROW and ENTER buttons to select the content to play. 6. To stop playback, press the STOP button. During DVD playback, pressing the STOP button for the first time brings the DVD player to a pre-stop mode. You can resume playback from the stopped point by pressing the PLAY button. This pre-stop mode allows you to change the player settings and then resume playback. To completely stop playback, press the STOP button twice. 1. Some DVD discs contain title menu or chapter menu functions. 2. Press the TITLE button on the remote control to display the menu on the screen. 3. Make menu selections using the number buttons or navigate the menu using the ARROW buttons, and then press the ENTER or PLAY button to make the selection. REP-CHAPTER-repeats the chapter that is playing. REP-TITLE-repeats the Title that is playing. REP-ALL-repeats the disc that is playing. REPEAT OFF. MD9 9 AUDIO / MP3 CDs PLAYING AUDIO CDs (CDDA) When playing an audio CD, It displays the current track and time for that track playing. USING THE REPEAT FEATURE The default mode for the Repeat feature is OFF. Pressing REPEAT consecutively changes the repeat options:
REP-1-repeats the track that is playing. REP-ALL-repeats the disc that is playing. REPEAT OFF. The repeat option changes every time REPEAT is pressed. When the track/tracks has/have ended, the selected repeat option loops MD9 10 repeatedly unit you turn it off. PLAYING MP3 DISCS MP3 is a format for storing digital audio. An audio CD-quality song can be compressed into the MP3 format with very little loss of quality, while taking up much less space. CD-R discs that have been encoded in MP3 format can be played on your DVD player. Press the DISPLAY button on the remote to DISPLAY Banner. The options below show you what happens when you press the DISPLAY button. MD9 11 SKIPPING SONG When an MP3 disc is inserted in the player, the Smart Nav screen appears automatically. You can change folders and songs through Smart Nav. The DVD player plays the songs in order they were burned on to the disc. If a disc is playing, press STOP. Press the up or down arrow button to go through the folder list on the right side of the Smart Nav Screen. Once the folder you want is highlighted, press ENTER. Press the up or down arrow button to go through the song list and highlight the song you want. Press ENTER to begin playback of the highlighted song. The icon flash means the song is playing. Use the next button on the remote control to move to the next song. Use the Previous button to move the beginning of the currently playing song. USING THE REPEAT FEATURE The default mode for the Repeat feature is OFF. Pressing REPEAT consecutively changes the repeat options:
Repeat 1 - repeats the song that is playing. Repeat DIR - repeats the folder that is playing. ALL - repeats all folders that are playing. REPEAT OFF. MD9 12 MIRACAST OPERATION (OPTION) Switch INPUT SOURCE to Miracast. The following screen will be displayed. Open a Miracast Supported device (Android device) and search. Select Wi-Fi display. Enable Wireless display. MD9 13 Select an available device on smart phone that matches When into the connecting status, both the smart phone and the device on display of MD9. screen of MD9 are showing the connecting messages. MD9 14 Wait for device connected. When a successful connection is made, your phones screen will be mirrored onto the video screen. MD9 15 Using a SPSC port by MHL to SPSC cable For iPhone lighting device:
1. Switch INPUT SOURCE to SPSC. 2. Using the SPSC cable Connection between the Lightning Digital AV Adapter and the SPSC port of MD9. 3. Connect the adaptor cable on lighting side (male) to a smart phone. 4. Connect the adaptor cable on lighting port (female) to the USB port of MD9. MD9 16 For Android device:
1. Switch INPUT SOURCE to SPSC. 2. Using the SPSC cable Connection between MHL adaptor and the SPSC port of MD9. 3. Connect the adaptor cable on micro USB side to a smart phone. 4. Connect the USB connector of adaptor cable to USB port of MD9. The USB supports 1A for charging. MHL support depends on the smart phone and also on the MHL, SPSC cable. Since the 4:3 aspect ratio is not large enough to fill the screen, black bars are added to the left and right of the display image. Wide If the source content aspect ratio is 4:3 this setting will expand the display image to fill the screen. Panorama Panorama expands the display image to fill the screen. Images may appear wider than intended. If you are watching widescreen content, black bars will still appear on the top and bottom of the display image. There are English, Setting Transparent mode, including 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and French and Spanish languages. 100%. Restore Default Software Update (USB) Restore its factory default settings. Update the software by USB port. MD9 28 ADJUST DVD SETUP MENU This chapter describes how to set and how to adjust using the on-screen SETUP menu. Press the SETUP button to display the SETUP menu on the display screen. Select the main item via the up / down key to select item, the right key will take you into next submenu, the left key is return to parent menu and the enter key is setting the final submenu item in DVD SETUP MENU. To exit setup menu, press SETUP button on the remote again. SYSTEM SETUP MENU MD9 29 SYSTEM SETUP TV System (NTSC, PAL, AUTO) When the video output is set to PAL or NTSC system, the DVD player will convert the disc content to the selected system if it is different. When the video output is set to AUTO, the DVD player will not perform system conversion. The AUTO mode is only to be used if your TV supports both NTSC and PAL systems. TV Type (4:3 PS, 4:3LB, 16:9) Password Input a 4 digit password using the numeric buttons then press the Enter button. The password is to lock or un-clock the RATING setting. The default password is 0000. The PASSWORD allows you to change the parental control password when it is un-lock. Rating (KID SAFE, G, PG, PG13m PG-R,R,NC-17, ADULT) To set ratings in order to prevent minors from watching inappropriate content. This function requires that the disc being properly rated and encoded. Default To reset all settings to the factory default setings. The password and rating control will not be reset. MD9 30 LANGUAGE SETUP MENU LANGUAGE SETUP The LANGUAGE SETUP MENU allows the user to select the OSD Language, Audio Language, Subtitle Language, Menu Language, VIDEO SETUP MENU MD9 31 Brightness To adjust the brightness (black level) of the video output. Contrast To adjust the contrast (white level) of the video output. Hue To adjust the hue (tint) of the video output. Saturation To adjust the saturation (color intensity level) of the video output. Sharpness To set the sharpness of video output. The default is level 0. Level 0 turns off sharpness enhancement. MD9 32 OTHER INFORMATION WIRELESS IR HEADPHONE TRANSMITTER This monitor includes a built in Wireless IR transmitter, for use with Myron & Davis wireless headphones (Part number: AE51). The volume can be adjusted using the controls on each headset The wireless headphones must be used within a line of sight from the transmitter, as infrared transmissions like visible light travel only in a straight line. Screen will show Over Temperature warning, then please turn on air conditioner to cool down the ambient temperature inside the car If interior ambient temperature exceeds 0 ~ 65 (32 ~ 149), the system will auto shut down to perform over temperature protection, the system will be shut down, then adjust the air-conditioning or heating until the temperature so that the car back to normal temperature 0 ~ 65 (32 ~ 149), the machine will automatically resume started. MD9 33 Software Update (USB) Copy the update file to USB thumb driver. Opening setup menu and select Software Update (USB) item. Checking for update and choose yes. When the update is finished, the unit will reboot automatically. Restore default after update is finished. Labor cost for removal, reinstallation, and trouble shooting of the video product(s). Damage to DVD discs, CDs, videotapes, accessories, or vehicle electrical parts. Damage due to improper installation, modification of existing equipment, abuse, neglect, or improper service. Damage due to accidents, fire, theft or vandalism. TROUBLE SHOOTING PROBLEM Poor in vehicle radio reception SOLUTION Check the condition of the vehicles radio antenna. Verify that the antenna is fully raised. Try to change the FM modulators frequency from the OSD menu. PROBLEM No sound or distorted sound IR sensor inoperative Verify that the batteries in the remote are fresh Verify that the remote sensor eye is not obstructed. Cant advance through a movie Disc wont play Insert a disc with the label side facing up. Check the type of disc you put into disc tray. This DVD only plays DVDs, audio CDs and MP3s. Both the unit and the disc are coded by region. If the regional code doesnt match, the disc cant be played. This DVD player is Region Number 1 Invalid key appears on screen Play starts, but then stops immediately The disc is dirty. Clean it. Condensation has formed. Allow player to dry out. SOLUTION Make sure your DVD player is connected properly. Make sure all cables are securely inserted into the appropriate jacks. If you are using the IR headphones, make sure you turn on the IR power. Make sure Modulators frequency has been proper selected. You cant advance through the opening credits and warning information that appears at the beginning of movies because the disc is programmed to prohibit that action. The feature or action cant be completed at this time because:
1. The discs software restricts it. 2. The discs software doesnt support the feature. 3. The feature is not available at the moment. 4. Youve requested a title or chapter number that is out of range. PROBLEM Picture is distorted No forward or reverse scan SOLUTION The disc might be damaged. Try another disc. It is normal for some distortion to appear during forward or reverse scan. Some discs have sections that prohibit rapid scanning or title and chapter skip. If you try to skip through the warning information and credits at the beginning of a movie, you wont be able to. This part of the movie is often programmed to prohibit skipping through it. MD9 35 The Equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B Digital Device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
