This manual's goal is to acquaint you with the many features and functionality of your new VEGA Studio Monitors. We advise you to spend some time getting acquainted with this manual. In order to achieve high speed wireless connectivity with extremely low latency and without compromising any of the audio spectrum, we have partnered with Eleven Engineering (Canada) and have integrated their SKAA Pro Technology into all of our VEGA Series Monitors. The specialists out there may always use our embedded SKAA Pro technology to get accurate sound and wireless real-
time music mixing without noticeable audio delays. Of course, you can still use cables to connect to the HUB, which will then use SKAA Pro technology built into the HUB to wireless connect with the SAT (super high-speed, very low latency, with full audio spectrum delivered). A word about Bluetooth. Due to the audio delays that result from employing Bluetooth technology and the fact that some of the audio spectrum is lost, real-time audio mixing cannot be accomplished using this technology. With the exception of those who require extremely high speed and complete audio, the majority of people may still benefit from using Bluetooth on a daily basis. Thank you for choosing CERWIN-VEGA!
Engineered in the USA and manufactured with global components. 3 4 Some Key Features:
Connectivity:
Wired: RCA, XLR Combo TRS connections on the HUB for universal direct line connectivity for any environment. Wireless: HUB has BT 5.0+ and SKAA Pro Technology Wireless: SAT have SKAA Pro Receiver Technology. Amplifier:
DSP controlled Class D amplifier topology: runs cooler and with clean sound. Custom active 2way electronics (VEGA4S, VEGA6S & VEGA8S) that provides high headroom/low noise amplification. Custom active 3way electronics (VEGA10S) that provides high headroom/low noise amplification. Improved speaker protection circuitry added. System optimized auto limiter: prevents unexpected peaks from damaging the speakers while offering consistency and clarity at high volumes. Drivers: woofers and tweeters with enhanced frequency responses that are specifically built. Soft-dome tweeters with optimized waveguides deliver clear, crisp, and articulate highs up to 35 kHz, but we'll only show 20 kHz in our specifications. Lightweight glass-aramid composite woofers produce tight bass and a crisp middle. Cabinet:
Using a precision CNC-cut front wood baffle in place of common plastics results in an all-wood cabinet that is resonant-
free, rock-solid, and improves imaging clarity while lowering colorization and distortion. With better sonic clarity, our slotted front ports improve room acoustics by significantly reducing port turbulence. The low and high frequency settings of our monitors can be adjusted for individual taste and room acoustics with the ability to offer accurate lows, true highs, and clearly defined middle frequencies. Musicians from all over the world will laud its superior low-end extension and optional +2dB Bass Boost preset. The result is a studio reference monitor that you can trust. Whether you are making critical mixing decisions or need to capture the subtle nuances of a unique sound, youll quickly discover that the VEGA Studio Monitors is as precise about your work as you are. 5 SPECS:

The Hub, out of the box, is configured as the LEFT speaker The Satellite, out of the box, is configured as the RIGHT speaker. This configuration can be changed using the SKAA cmd app and using a SKAA approved transmitter depending upon which type of phone you have. Please refer to pages 18 thru 24 for more details regarding the SKAA cmd app or download the PDF here: https://skaa.com/media/1233/do5580-skaa-cmd-users-guide-102116.pdf For information on the various SKAA transmitters that can be used, please check our accessories on page 26. Where to download the app?
For Android Phones the SKAA cmd app can be found on the Google Playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/?hl=en_US&gl=US For iPhone the SKAA cmd app can be found on the Apps Store https://www.apple.com/app-store/
To see a complete listing of the SKAA cmd app commands/functionality the PDF can be downloaded at:
https://skaa.com/media/1233/do5580-skaa-cmd-users-guide-102116.pdf Or see the SKAA cmd app directions shown on pages 18 thru 24. If you alter the default LEFT & RIGHT speaker configuration using the app, a FACTORY RESET (6-clicks) on the bond button will restore the speakers' factory defaults (Hub = Left, Sat = Right). NOTES:
The HUB controls whether or not audio is sent from the HUB to the SAT and acts as the central brain. The SAT only receives wirelessly; it never broadcasts audio. The HUB accepts Bluetooth connections and outputs the audio it has received to the SAT using the embedded SKAA Pro mode of transmission. In using a SKAA transmitter to communicate with our VEGA monitor this implies that the HUB and SAT simultaneously receive audio from the SKAA transmitter without the HUB needing to communicate with the SAT. 7 Three modes of audio input connections to our HUB monitors: please see figure 1 Below:
(1) Audio Input Mode Selection Button, each button press will advance to the next connection type (Bluetooth, Analog input and then SKAA mode).
(2) Bluetooth Receive Mode: when selected, the BT LED will light up and the HUB will then transmit audio automatically via a SKAA Pro mode to the SAT.
(3) Line In Analog Receive Mode: when selected, the Analog LED will light up and the HUB will then transmit audio automatically via a SKAA Pro mode to the SAT.
(4) SKAA Receive Mode: when selected, the SKAA Bond LED will illuminate. I. II. III. If you've Bonded to this audio source before, click the Bond button once (1-click). Repeat again this procedure if the speaker Bonds and plays the wrong audio. If you've never Bonded to this audio source before, click the Bond button twice (double-click). Repeat this procedure again if the speaker Bonds and plays the wrong audio. Normally avoid this method since it clears the favorites list in your speaker. If neither method i) nor ii) listed above work, provide 6-clicks using the Bond Button to factory reset your speaker. The speaker will then Bond and play audio. If it plays the wrong audio, go to ii). Figure 1: HUB Input Audio Connection Controls Note: With one exception, HUB monitor always communicates wirelessly to the SAT using SKAA Pro Audio transmission. The sole exception to this rule is when the SAT is directly receiving SKAA signals from a source other than the HUB. 8 SKAA Bonding Mode Selection: HUB & SAT See figure 2 below and bonding button 5. The VOL control knob does double duty for functions. If you rotate the knob left or right you can control the volume level of the speaker. If you push the volume control button inward this changes the SKAA function as outlined on the silkscreen graphics shown in figure 2 below. For a more comprehensive listing of SKAA Bond Button functions and the number of clicks to use please see pages 15 and 16 in this manual or visit https://skaa.com/TLC Figure 2: SKAA Bond Button & Bonding Table Computer Wireless Connections using Bluetooth Mode: assuming computer has BT capability!

(flash) = Receiver has entered Cluster Up mode
(bright) = The Cluster has been successfully made QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Question How does the Green List work?
You can store up to 10 SKAA transmitters on your Green List. These are your favorite audio sources. Every time you add a transmitter, it is assigned the first open spot on the Green List. Answer When you single click the Bond Button, the receiver hunts through the Green List much like a car radio hunts for radio stations when you press seek. If the Indicator is dim Green and flashes every few seconds, this tells you the receiver is hunting through the Green List. Say you have 5 transmitters on your Green List; your receiver will hunt through the list one by one: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and then back to 1 and so on. The dim Green Indicator flashes every time the receiver moves to the next spot on the list. This hunting goes on for up to 1 minute. If your receiver doesnt find any of your favorite transmitters, it stops hunting and just waits for the last bonded favorite. If your receiver does find one of your favorite transmitters, the hunting stops, the indicator turns bright green, and your receiver starts playing audio from that favorite. A dim Green Indicator that is NOT flashing means the receiver is just sitting on one spot, waiting for a specific favorite transmitter to show up. Play audio from your source device and ensure it has a SKAA transmitter connected. Click the Bond Button on your receiver. The receiver hunts through the Green List, flashing the indicator as it goes. Once your receiver finds one of your favorite transmitters, it bonds to it and plays audio from that transmitter. If that isnt the transmitter you wanted, click the Bond Button once more. Repeat until your receiver bonds with the transmitter you want and youre hearing the correct audio playing. How do I bond with a specific Green transmitter?
16 Question
(Continued) How do I select transmitters if I cant reach my Bond Button?
How do I delete a transmitter from my Green List?
What is a Cluster?
What is the Master receiver?
How do I Un-cluster several receivers?
What are some tips for making Clusters?
Why does only one of my Bond Buttons works?
Can any group of receivers be made into a Cluster?
Answer
(Continued) Say you want to put your receiver on a high shelf where you cant reach the Bond Button easily. First, set up your Green List: add all of the transmitters youll want to use. Then 4click the Bond Button to enter Red Mode. Now put the receiver up on the high shelf. Power on just one of your transmitters and power off all others. The receiver automatically bonds to the transmitter thats on. Factory Reset (6 Clicks of the Bond Button) clears the Green List and lets you start over from scratch. If, however, youd like to delete just one transmitter from your Green List, first bond your receiver to the transmitter you wish to delete. See the section above: How do I bond with a specific Green transmitter?
Once you are bonded to it, hold down the Bond Button for a few seconds until you see the Indicator flash Red this Red flash means the transmitter has been deleted. Clusters are an optional convenience for power users. A Cluster is several SKAA receivers behaving as one product. A left & right speaker pair, for example, or a sound bar and subwoofer. In any Cluster, there is a single Master receiver, and all of the other receivers in the Cluster follow its behavior. You can control the entire Cluster by operating the Bond Button of the Master. A receiver must have a physical Bond Button in order to become the Master. Do the Make a Cluster of Receivers procedure once for each receiver, but omit Step 3. Do them one at a time. This gives each of the receivers a functioning Bond Button, and each of them will thereafter operate independently. Each step in the Make a Cluster of Receivers procedure has a 10second time limit. When you see the Masters Indicator start to flash Red, you have 10 seconds to power on the next receiver. When that receivers Indicator starts to flash Red, you have 10 more seconds to power on the next one, and so on. When you make a Cluster from several receivers, the first one powered on in the Make a Cluster of Receivers procedure becomes the Master of the Cluster. Only the Masters Bond Button works because a Cluster uses just one Green List the Masters Green List. The Bond Button of each of the other receivers will work only for the Mute / Unmute function (3Click of the Bond Button). No. The receivers must be members of the same product family. If they are not, the Make a Cluster of Receivers procedure wont work. This is because only receivers which were designed to work together (as a single product) can be made into a Cluster. 17 SKAA cmd app Directions on how to use:
