To use these multimedia buttons, you have to install Key Maestro multimedia keyboard driver first. Page 1 of 10 System Requirement Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating system CD-ROM drive (for CD and Video operation) Standard sound card (for CD and Video operation) The system supporting ACPI or APM II (for power management buttons) ATX mother board and ATX power supply (for power management buttons) Installation 1.Insert the disk labeled 'Key Maestro Input Device Driver' into your disk drive. 2.Open File Explorer to find 'Setup.exe' from the disk. 3.Double -click the 'Setup.exe'. 4.Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup. 5.The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on the taskbar. The operating system needs to restart, if you are running under Windows NT4.0, Windows2000 or Windows XP. Uninstallation Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver. 1.Click the Key Maestro driver icon and select 'Exit' command to exit the driver program. 2.Click 'Start' (on the left-bottom taskbar). 3.Move cursor to 'Programs' in 'Start' menu. 4.Move cursor again to 'Key Maestro'. 5.Select 'Uninstall Key Maestro'. 6.Click 'Yes' to confirm you want to uninstall. Page 2 of 10 Using Three Power Management Buttons Your keyboard has the power management keys which are Power off, Sleep, and Wake up three keys. They are also can be called ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) keys. Note: There are other situations for the users of Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0, please refer to the section ACPI Key Enabled for more detailed information. Power off closes the operating system and powers down the system. P.S. Although this key is a standard key under Windows 98, Windows 98 processes it as a Sleep key. Sleep puts your system to sleep (power-saving) mode. Any key will wake up your system and return to the previous working status. P.S. Windows NT 4.0 does not support Sleep function. This key will be processed as Power Off by KeyMaestro driver if the option is enabled. Wake up wakes up your system and returns to the previous working status. Page 3 of 10 Using Multimedia Buttons There are a row of multimedia keys on the top of keyboard. The functions are described as below. Note: These keys are reprogrammable (Except Volume up and Volume down). They can be configured as a string, a combination key, a web site, an existing file, or a function the driver pre-defines for you. To reconfigure these keys, click the Key Maestro icon on the taskbar to select Configuration 1 or Configuration 2 command. Help displays this help file on the screen. My Favorite opens My Favorite folder for you to select your favorite web site. WWW Home launches to your Internet Browser application which should be pre -installed. If you have installed two browsers in your system, the system default one will be opened. Mostly the system default is the later installed one. WWW Search launches to your Internet Browser application and go to the Search Engine web site. Shortcut provides you to create an easy access to the documents and programs you use most often. The default setting for Shortcut button is to launch Windows accessory program 'Notepad'. Page 4 of 10 Volume Control controls the volume to up or down of your audio output to the speakers. Note: All these keys are not reprogrammable Mute mutes the sound output. Repress this button to resume. Previous / Fast Backward skips backward to the previous file/track or play backward fast when pressing once quickly. But, if you are using 'Vendor Player', you have to press and hold the button and then the file/track will play backward fast
(The 'Vendor Player' is only for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT4.0 users). Stop stops the playing. Next / Fast Forward skips forward to the next file/track or play forward fast when pressing once quickly. But, if you are using 'Vendor Player', you have to press and hold the button and then the file/track will play forward fast

Page 5 of 10 Play/Pause When the CD or Video is playing, press this button to pause it, and press the button again to resume it from the current position. Commands in the Menu If you click the Key Maestro icon on the taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following options. Show/Hide Vendor Player Display (only for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0) This command is to show or hide the Vendor player display, and appears in the menu only when Key Maestro is playing multimedia files. The location of the display is available for you to move by using mouse. The red square an 'X' inside on the upper-right corner in the display can close this display window directly, instead of clicking this command. Continuous Play (only for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0) This command is to keep the playing continuously in a loop. A word 'REPEAT'
will be shown on the Vendor player display if this command is checked. ACPI Key Enabled (only for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0) The ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) keys, Power off, Sleep, Wake up, are the power management keys of your keyboard; they are processed and performed by Windows, not Key Maestro driver. Page 6 of 10 As these ACPI keys are performed not completely under Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0; the Key Maestro driver provides an option to enable the ACPI keys. When the option is enabled, the driver will take Windows' place to process these keys. The default state of this option is disabled. If you want to enable the option, click the 'Key Maestro' icon on the taskbar and then select 'ACPI Key Enabled'
command. Depending on your system compatibility in ACPI, you may decide whether the ACPI keys are enabled and performed by driver or not. In case some errors occur or system hang due to setting conflict or other unpredictable reasons, you had better disable the ACPI keys and check the motherboard setting of ACPI. OSD Enabled This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name
(button label) will show on the left-bottom corner on the screen. There are part of the multimedia keys are performed by Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP directly. At this time, the OSD will not be displayed on the screen. OSD Color This command is to set the color of the OSD. You can select a favorite color to distinguish from the background. Configuration 1 & Configuration 2 These two commands are to change the settings for the Multimedia keys. Page 7 of 10 There are two Configuration windows, you can see the reprogrammable buttons lining there. The names in the first column are the fixed button names and the names in the second column are the Button Label showing the current settings. Click on the button you wish to reconfigure. The Button Customization dialog box will appear. 1.Select a type for this button. As a string You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 3000. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient. As a combination key In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all. Type in a web site address If you want to attach a web page to the button, select 'Type in a web site address' and type in the URL of the page in the 'Address' field or click the Favorite button to select the web page from your favorites. Select a file on your computer Type in the path to an often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer. Page 8 of 10 Pre-defined Functions You can click 'Select' button to see the list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for this button, or you can click the 'Default' button to set back to be the original pre-defined function. 2.In the Button Label box on top of window, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button. 3.Click 'OK' to confirm your selection Help Select this command to bring up this Help file you are viewing now. About Select this command to see the information of this Key Maestro driver, including the version number and web site which you can update the driver. Exit Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again. If you really want to remove (uninstall) the driver, you have to exit this program first. Please refer to the Uninstallation section above. In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this multimedia driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.
