OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS OF THE COPRECI FULLY AUTOMATIC GAS CONTROL A) Operation from the TOUCH CONTROL The basic operations possible from the Touch Control are ON, OFF and Manual adjustment of flame height. 1 2 3 4 1: Led display. 2: ON\OFF 3: UP button 4: DOWN button A-1.- TURN ON THE GAS LOG UNIT FROM THE TOUCH CONTROL To turn on the gas log unit, push the ON/OFF button (2) on the touch control. The LED (1) will start blinking. At that time, the ODS pilot will start sparking and gas will start flowing to the ODS pilot. The ODS should be lighten in a few seconds. The LED (1) will blink for 10 seconds while the ignition process takes place. No other button can be pressed during those 10 seconds (the remote control will not react during that time). The gas log unit will be at that time in the MANUAL mode and ready to be used. If the ODS pilot flame is for any reason not lighten, the user needs to turn OFF the unit (see A-2) and start the process of turning it ON again. A-2.- TURN OFF THE GAS LOG UNIT FROM THE TOUCH CONTROL. To shut down the gas flow and the entire gas log unit, you must push on the ON/OFF button (2), and the LED (1) will start blinking. At that time the gas flow to the burner and to the ODS pilot will shut off. A-3.- INCREASE AND DECREASE THE FLAME HEIGHT FROM THE TOUCH CONTROL While the unit is on, push the UP button (3) or the DOWN button (4) depending if you want to increase or decrease the flame high. The led (1) will flash ones and the flame height will be adjusted. Flame can have 4 flame positions:
PILOT flame only, LOW burner flame, MEDIUM burner flame and HIGH burner flame. The user must observe the initial flame height of the gas log to adjusted to the desired flame height. If the UP button (3) is pushed while the flame is in the High burner flame, nothing will happened. Similarly, if the DOWN button (4) is pushed while the flame in the Pilot position, nothing will happened. A-4.- TROUBLE SHOOTING THE TOUCH CONTROL If the gas log unit does not respond to the commands of the touch control, verify the batteries of the electronic control box and the cable connection between the electronic control box and the touch control. If the LED (1) switch on without pushing any of the buttons of the touch control, the connection of the cable of the touch and the touch is in the other way round. If the trouble persist, please call your nearest certificate gas technician. B) Operation from the REMOTE CONTROL The Remote Control possibilities are turning ON and OFF the unit as well as controlling the flame height in the Manual mode of controlling the room temperature in the Automatic mode (Thermostatic controlled). The Remote Control has also a lock feature as well as the low battery alarm. The Remote Control communicates with the gas log unit (and its electronic control box) thought radio frequency. In order to operate properly, the Remote Control radio frequency must be learned by the Electronic Control Box on the gas log unit. The gas log unit can be operated with the Remote Control from a maximum distance of 10meters, (30 feet) if operated within the same room space. Because the Remote Control works thought radio frequency, the Remote Control does not need to be aimed to the gas log unit for operation. The user will be advised every time that the Electronic Control Box has received a signal from the Remote Control when a LED from the touch control (1) blinks ones. When this happened, push on SET (14). At that time. the ON display (5) will appear in the display, the ODS pilot will start sparking and gas will start flowing to the ODS pilot. The ODS should be lighten in a few seconds. The pilot flame display (1) will blink for 10 seconds while the ignition process takes place. No other button can be pressed during those 10 seconds (the remote control will not react during that time). The remote control at that time will be in the MANUAL mode and ready to be used. If the ODS pilot flame is for any reason not lighten, the user needs to turn OFF the remote control and start the process of turning it ON again. At that time, you must push the SET button (14) again. The OFF display (6) will appear in the display and the gas flow to the burner and to the ODS pilot will shut off. You can do this either in the MANUAL mode or in the AUTOMATIC mode. B-3.- INCREASE AND DECREASE THE FLAME HEIGHT IN THE MANUAL MODE While the MANUAL mode and the MANUAL display (10) is lighten, push the UP button (12) or the DOWN button (15) depending if you want to increase or decrease the flame high. The Flame display (1) shows 4 possible flame positions:
PILOT flame only, LOW burner flame, MEDIUM burner flame and HIGH burner flame. The level of the flame display (1) that you set will appear on the display and the flow rate in the gas log will be adjusted accordingly. If the UP button (12) is pushed while the flame is in the High burner flame, nothing will happened. Similarly, if the DOWN button (15) is pushed while the flame in the Pilot position, nothing will happened. B-4.- CHANGE FROM MANUAL MODE TO AUTOMATIC MODE
(THERMOSTATIC CONTROL) While in the MANUAL mode and the MANUAL display (10) is lighten, push the SET button (14) and the AUTO display (9) will start blinking. Push the SET button (14) again and the AUTOMATIC mode is set. At that time the temperature display (4) will start blinking. When the temperature display (4) is blinking you will be able to adjust the room temperature set by pushing the UP button (12) or the DOWN button (15) to adjust the desired room temperature. to push the SET button (14) to set the desired room temperature. When youve got the desired room temperature on the display (4), you need If the SET button (14) is not pushed, the temperature display (4) will stops blinking in a few seconds and the set room temperature set remain unchanged. B-5.- CHANGING THE SET ROOM TEMPERATURE IN AUTOMATIC MODE
(TERMOSTATIC CONTROL) When you want to change the set room temperature while in the AUTOMATIC mode and the AUTO display (9) is lighten, you can push the UP button (12) or the DOWN button (15). At that time the temperature display (9) will start blinking. Depending if you want to increase or decrease the set room temperature you must continue pushing the UP button (12) or the DOWN button
(15) until the new desired room temperature appears in the temperature display
(4). At that time you must push the SET button (14) to set that temperature as the desired room temperature. If the SET button (14) is not pushed, the temperature display (4) will stops blinking in a few seconds and the set room temperature set remain unchanged. B-6.- CHANGE FROM AUTOMATIC MODE (THERMOSTATIC CONTROL) TO MANUAL MODE While in the AUTOMATIC mode and the AUTO display (9) is lighten, push the SET button (14). The MANUAL display (10) will start blinking, then the push SET button (14) again. The MANUAL display (10) will stay lighten. This means that the manual option will be set up. B-7.- CHANGING THE DISPLAY FROM FAHRENHEIT TO CELSIUS When you have the temperature in Fahrenheit, push the ON/OFF button
(13) and the ON display (5) or the OFF display (6) will start blinking. After that push the ON/OFF button (13) and the UP button (12) together. The temperature scale in the display will change to Celsius (2). B-8.- CHANGING THE DISPLAY FROM CELSIUS TO FAHRENHEIT When you have the temperature in Celsius, push the ON/OFF button (13) and the ON display(5) or the OFF display (6) will start blinking. After that push the ON/OFF button (13) and the UP button (12) together. The temperature scale in the display will change to Fahrenheit (3). B-9.- TO LOCK THE REMOTE CONTROL KEYS To lock the remote control , you have to push the ON/OFF button (13), after that, the ON button (5) or OFF button (6) will start blinking, at that time you need to push the ON/OFF button (13) and the DOWN button (15) together. The key display
(11) will appear lighten. You can lock the remote control in the ON, OFF positions and during either the MANUAL or the AUTOMATIC mode. The LOCK features is designed as a CHILD SAFETY feature. If the remote control is in the MANUAL mode while locked, the gas log until will stay on until the remote control is unlocked used to turn it OFF. If the remote control is in the AUTOMATIC mode while locked, the gas log unit will continue with the thermostatic control, adjusting the flame high. If for any reason you have a LOCKED REMOTE CONTROL while the gas log is on and you need to turn it off, you can turn the unit OFF with the TOUCH CONTROL ON/OFF button or by taking one of the batteries of the electronic control out of the battery box. B-10.- UNLOCKED THE REMOTE CONTROL KEYS To unlock keys while the key display is lighten, you have to push on ON/OFF button (13) and the DOWN button (15) together, after that a key display
(11) should disappear. You can lock the remote control in the ON, OFF positions and during either the MANUAL or the AUTOMATIC mode. If for any reason you have a LOCKED REMOTE CONTROL while the gas log is ON, you can turn the unit OFF with the TOUCH CONTROL ON/OFF button or by taking one of the batteries of the electronic control out of the battery box. The remote control will let you know when batteries are low on power when At that time you will need to change the batteries of the remote control with B-11.- LOW BATTERY DISPLAY (REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES) the low battery display (7) appears. 3 (three) AAA (triple A) batteries. B-12.- TO TEACH THE RADIO FRECUANCY CODE OF THE REMOTE CONTROL TO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOX The Electronic Control radio frequency receiver must learn the radio frequency of the matching Remote Control. This must be done only ones by the installer or if the Electronic Control or the Remote Control have been damaged or replaced. A In order to this, you must turn the switch of the Electronic Control box (A) to the ON position. After that, you must push the ON/OFF button (13), and the ON display (5) or the OFF display (6) will start blinking. When that happen, push together the ON/OFF button (13), the UP button
(12) and the DOWN button (15) at the same time. At that time nothing appears to happen, but then you must push on the SET button (14) ones. The clock display
(8) will appear in the remote control. This means that the remote send the instructions to the unit control. The clock display (8) will disappear in a few seconds by it self. To know that the electronic control has received the signal from the remote control, you will be able to see that the led (1)of the touch blinks once while you do the previous procedure. To finish the learning procedure, turn the switch of the electronic control (A) to its off position. B-13.- TROUBLE SHOOTING THE REMOTE CONTROL If the gas log unit does not respond to the commands of the remote control, verify the batteries of both the remote control and the electronic control box. If the LED of the TOUCH CONTROL (1) flashes when pushing any of the buttons of the remote control, the communication between the electronic control box and the remote control and batteries are OK. C) Other general considerations of the System. C-1.- OPERATING TOUCH CONTROL AND REMOTE CONTROL AT THE SAME TIME If while using the Remote Control in the MANUAL mode you push any button on the Touch Control (ON/OFF, (2), UP (3) or DOWN (4)), the unit will receive the command of the touch control and follow it. If the command is to turn OFF the gas log unit, the gas log unit will be turned OFF, while the display in the Remote Control will continue to show the unit as ON (5). In this case, to be able to use the remote control again and to turn the gas unit ON you must follow first the steps to turn the remote control OFF (see section B-2) and then the steps to turn the unit ON (see section B-1). If while using the remote control in the AUTOMATIC mode (thermostatic control) you push any button on the touch control, the unit receives a command from the touch control, follows the command, while the display in the remote control continues to show the mode as AUTOMATIC (9). If you dont push any further button on the touch control, after 6 minutes the remote control will continue working in AUTOMATIC mode (thermostatic control). If you turn ON the unit with the touch control and after that you turn ON the remote control you will be able to use the remote control. C-12.- LOW BATTERIES OF ELECTRONIC CONTROL If the batteries of the Electronic Control have low power, the gas flow will shut off and the unit will not be able to operate until the 3 (three) C batteries are exchanged by new ones. No display of these batteries will be shown in the Remote Control display.
