key to safe riding. Avoid uneven surfaces, potholes, surface cracks and obstacles. Always ride at a safe speed, maintaining full control over the vehicle at all times. Adult supervision is strongly recommended. PQWERBOARDm SAFETY WARNING This vehicle does not confirm to Federal Motor Vehicle Standards and is not intended for operation on public streets, roads or highways. Serious injury can result from un-

I Hand Controller |
Hand controller battery The hand controlier use a standard 27-A 12 Volt battery. (replacement battery can be purchase at any electronic retail stores) Note: if you notice that you're unable to communicate with your board, the bat-
tery should be replaced. Power switch The Powerboardm is equipped with an ON/OFF switch on the side of the battery box on your board. This must be tumed on before tuming your hand control on to start the board, turn switch to ON posi-
tion. Make sure to tum the board to OFF position when not in use. Leaving the switch at ON posi-
tion when the board not in use, may damage the electronics and shorten the battery life. Adjustments Under normal use the Powerboardm requires no adjustments. How ever, it is prudent to occasionally check all fasteners for tightness. The bushings in the trucks are specially formulated to provide shock absorption and positive steering control for the Powerboardm. Page 3 i Model # PB-2 Powerboard THROTTLE/BRAKE The throttle/brake lever is a variable control that regulates the speed of the board. By GRADUALLY pulling back on the lever, the board will gradually increase in speed. Releasing the lever will return it to _ the neutral position. GRADUALLY pushing forward on the lever will slowly increase braking force. THROTTLE/BRAKE SAFETY WARNING The Powerboardm is a powerful device. If you step on and pull the throttle to full power. You will likely BE THROWN BACKWARD FROM THE BOARD. If travel-
ing at high speed, pushing the lever forward quickly (engaging the brake) to full brak-
ing will likely THROW YOU FORWARD FROM THE BOARD. KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND USE THE THROTTLE/BRAKE CONTROL ACCORDINGLY HAND CONTROLLER BATTERY The hand controller uses a standard 9-volt alkaline battery. Switching the controller off when not in use will maximize battery life. If you notice unreliable communication with the board, the battery should pow replaced. POWER SWITCH The Powerboardm is equipped with an ON/OFF switch on the side of the battery box. To start the Powerboardm, turn the switch to the ON position. Make sure to tum the board to OFF when not in use. Leaving the switch in the ON position when the board is not in use may damage the electronics and batteries. ADJUSTMENTS Under normal use, the Powerboard requires no adjustments. However, it is prudent to occasionally check all fasteners for tightness. The bushing in the trucks are specially formulated to provide shock ab-
sorption and positive steering control for the Powerboard. RIDING YOUR POWERBOARD BEFORE YOU RIDE Be sure that you are thoroughly familiar with all of the features and controls discussed in the previous Wy section. All safety equipment should be worn, even when riding short distances or durations. Make sure that the area in which you plan to ride is appropriate (paved, level, free of obstacles, clear of power lines and radio antennas, and not crowded). POWERBOARDm SAFETY WARNING You are about to climb aboard a powerful motorized skateboard. If you have doubts about your ability to ride, DONT. Know your limits and ride within them. Even if you are an expert skateboarder, give yourself sometime to learn the Powerboard and ride conservatively, especially the first few times. Remember, the Powerboardm is silent, and others will not hear you coming. Give yourself adequate time and distance to stop. RIDING INSTRUCTONS Make sure the switch in the Powerboard is ON and the switch on the hand controller is OFF. Step onto the Powerboardrm and assume your normal skateboard stance (leaning forward, knees . slightly bent). Keeping your finger off the throttle/brake, turn the controller switch to the ON position. Page 4
. Uphill and Downhill Riding The Powerboardm, within reason, is far superior to an ordinary skateboard in uphill and downhill rid-
ing. On an uphill run, you will find you need to keep your weight over the rear wheels to keep them from slipping. If the hill is too steep, the board will bog down and continued use may overheat the mo-
tor. COMMON SENSE SHOULD PREVENT THIS PROBLEM. On downhill runs, the motor remains engaged at all times, providing some drag. You also have full brak-
ing control, so long-distance downhill runs are possible. Frequent minor speed corrections with the brakes are preferable to letting your speed build up and then braking suddenly. KNOW YOUR LIM-
ITS AND RIDE WITHIN THEM. POWERBOARD TM BRAKING WARNING NEVER RIDE DOWN HILL THAT ARE TOO STEEP TO MAINTAIN SAFE CONTROL OF YOUR POWERBOARDm. NOTE* SP-2 ONLY. NEVER RIDE DOWN HILLS THAT REQUIRE CONSTANT BRAKING, AS THIS WILL DAMAGE ELECTRONICS Nerning Your Powerboard The Powerboardm turns like any other skateboard. Apply pressure to the deck with your heels and toes and the board will turn in that direction. More pressure will result in tighter tums. In the hands of an experienced rider, the Powerboard is capable of making a 10 radius 180 turn. MAINTAINING YOUR POWERBOARD MAINTENANCE WARNING FAILURE TO FOLLOW MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. NEVER DISASSEMBLE BATTERY BOXES OR ELECTRONICS. DOING SO WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. Under normal use, your Powerboardm will require very little routine maintenance. Approximately e-ce a month, check all Powerboard fasteners for tightness. This will require an allen wrench and a whe different sized sockets or open-ended wrenches. Your Powerboard is not waterproof and should not be ridden in rain or wet areas to prevent electric damage. Always keep your board clean and free of i t
Routine Maintenance moisture. Drive wheel replacement It is normal for the drive wheel to wear faster than other wheels on your Powerboardm. If you spin the wheel regularly due to over-acceleration (burn-outs), it will wear more quickly. Drive Wheel Replace-
ment are available from Panamasia, Service Dept. see Parts List. Drive belt replacement Due to the superior design of the Powerboardm, the drive belt suffers very little wear. It is replaced along with the drive wheel as part of the Drive Wheel Replacement Kit. In the unlikely event that your drive belt breaks, a replacement can be ordered from Panamasia, Service Dept. see Parts List. Wheel replacement As with any skateboard, the wheels of the Powerboardm will wear out with use. Replacement wheels, bearings and spacers are available from Panamasia, Service Dept. see Parts List. Page 5 Bushing Replacement Although specially formulated for extremely long life, the bushings located in the trucks of your Powerboard1m will wear over time. It is recommended that they be replaced with the same special bushings that are standard equipment on the board. They are available from Panamasia, Service Dept. See parts list. Battery Maintenance The rechargeable batteries that power your Powerboard should last 2-3 years, if kept charged but will slowly decrease in capacity and eventually fail to hold a charge. To maintain maximum life, always keep your Powerboard1m charged, when storing for extended periods, plug in once a month to main-
tain charged. They are easily replaceable using the Battery Replacement Kit, which is available from Panamasia, Service Dept. See Parts List. Repair Information Many repairs that may be required for you Powerboardm are covered in the Maintenance section of this guide. Should your Powerboard 1m require repairs that are not covered under this section, contact Panamasia, Service Dept. with the nature of the problem and the serial number of your Powerboard-
for more information on how to obtain technical support or an authorized service center location. W/
