MyNet-810x Introduction MyNet-series Broadband Internet Gateways are designed for small business and home (SOHO). Each of MyNet gateways provides the easiest and safest way to share your broadband Internet access such as DSL modem or cable modem. MyNet-series are an integrated high speed Internet gateway and firewall with dual speed switch of a 1 & 4 port 10/100M auto-sense for users to immediately network and access the Internet economically and effortlessly. All users can have Internet access simultaneously via single IP of Cable/xDSL account. Designed for workgroups of up to 253 users, the MyNet-810x can be seamlessly configured through a user-friendly interface. The above product has the built-in DHCP Client and PPPoE client to work together with Cable Modem and xDSL, and contains the DHCP server for the automatic Local network. For the various application of equipment, WAN (Internet) port s IP information can be composed manually. ; One Installation guide Chapter 2. Hardware Installation Hardware installation You must check the internet is possible to use prior to connection of MyNet-8101 &
MyNet-8104 into LAN. In case that the internet does not work, you can ask your internet service provider the internet shall be working normally. Connect MyNet-810x to ADSL/Cable Modem Once you are sure that the internet is working normally. If it is verified to work normally, install it according to the following procedure. 1) Turn off the PC. 2) Turn off the power of ADSL/Cable Modem. 3) Move and insert LAN cable from PC LAN connected with ADSL/Cable Modem into the WAN Port of MyNet-8101, MyNet-8104. (Again certify that WAN Port of ADSL/Cable Modem and MyNet-8101,MyNet-8104 is connected to the LAN cable.) Connect the computer to MyNet-8101, MyNet-8104 1) Use the hub to connect the computer to MyNet-8101 If the hub is used, you can use the internet upto the maximum 253 numbers of computers. If you connect the hub to MyNet-8101, connect the LAN cable provided with the product to the UPLINK port and the hub s port of MyNet-8101. By using the LAN cable, connect the LAN card and hub of PC. 2) Connect the computer to MyNet-8104 MyNet-8104 has the high-performance switch with the built-in, 4 numbers of computer to the maximum without the additional equipment can be connected. By connecting the maximum 253 numbers of computers in connecting with hub, you can use the internet. You can connect to the LAN card of computer and LAN 1~4 port of MyNet-8104. (It is possible to connect directly up to maximum 4 numbers.) And there can be two cases that the dynamic IP is assigned and static IP is assigned. a) In case that the dynamic IP is assigned from internet company. Figure 4-4 in case of flow IP being assigned
- As figure 4-4, select the part of Obtain an IP Automatically.

- In order to connect to ADSL, select the WAN IP Address as the above figure by Obtain an IP Automatically and insert User name, Password, Service Name to the part of PPPoE. Then select Enable and Connect for PPPoE and press the submit button. CONNECT ON DEMAND is the function that when the user tries to connect the internet, PPPOE client works and is connected to ADSL network. If this function is made to do Enable , it connects when it does not connect directly to ADSL network and the user tries to start communication. If it is used like the next menu, Max Idle Time and the user s communication is halted as much as the set time at the Max Idle Time , it is disconnected and it is changed to stand-by mode. After this, if the user starts the communication, at this time, it is connected to ADSL network. If the internet is not used at the condition of ADSL connection, Max Idle Time will be automatically disconnected. After disconnecting, according to whether of CONNECT ON DEMAND being working or not, if CONNECT ON DEMAND is in the condition of Enable , it is changed to stand-by mode and observed by the user s observation. If it is the condition of Disable , immediately it will be reconnected. Accordingly, if CONNECT ON DEMAND is not used, you had better not establish the Max Idle Time very little. ____________________________________________________________________________________
** According to ISP, the method of connecting and use is different. Therefore, if each function is not used properly, you can meet with using internet not properly. Accordingly, if there are some problems in using internet, it is necessary to verify the connected service type to ISP. ** There is the case that the service is provided to only MAC address of LAN card which they provided for themselves in terms of ISP partially. In this case, the user shall verify the MAC address of LAN card provided by ISP and change it. Verification of MAC address can be implemented by record in LAN card or using the command of winipcfg(windows 95/98/ME) or ipconfig(windows 2000/NT) in the condition of LAN card installation.
