Installation Instructions for Wireless Sensor Kit X220106 Wireless Air Sensor Install 1. Locate the air filter housing. 2. If present, remove the visual indicator from the filter. Existing visual indicator 3. A tee fitting may be used to install the wireless sensor while retaining the use of an existing indicator. The use of a Tee fitting is recommended when a wired sensor or switch is present. Removing a wired sensor from the system may cause a fault condition. CAUTION Turn off equipment before inspecting, removing or installing an indicator or sensor. The system is intended to be installed on both on-road and off-road equipment requiring predictive air filter maintenance. The Wireless Air Sensor and Easy Receiver are meant to be installed in conjunction with a GEOTAB GO device 7, 8, or 9. Tools 7/16," 1/2," or 5/8" wrench (depends on existing fitting size) for air fittings Diagonal cutters for trimming zip ties. Materials Teflon Tape The Safety Alert Symbol indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided could result in death or serious injury. Obey all safety messages following this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. The possible hazards are explained in the associated text messages. This manual contains specific precautions related to worker safety. The hazard alert image denotes safety related instructions and warnings in this manual. DO NOT install, operate, or perform maintenance on this wireless sensor kit until you have read and understood the instructions, precautions and warnings contained within this manual. 4. Place Teflon tape on the fitting prior to installing the sensor. Teflon tape 5. Install the wireless sensor in place of the existing indicator or tee fitting. X22010 Wireless Sensor Thread the wireless air sensor on the fitting and torque hand-tight. Do not overtighten. Note: Depending on the application, extra fittings may be required to complete the installation. Easy Receiver Install 7. Locate the GEOTAB device. GEOTAB device 8. Remove the dust cover on the GEOTAB device. GEOTAB device dust cover 9. Connect the cable to the GEOTAB device using this side of the cable. 10. Place zip tie around GEOTAB device to hold cable in place. Note how the zip tie fits in the groove. 11. Find a secure location to mount the receiver. Make sure that the cable can reach the GEOTAB GO device. Do not install the receiver in a metal box. Keep it in the open as much as possible. 13. Insert the other end of the cable into receiver. tugging on the cable once attached. Supplemental IOX cables Make sure the connector latches when inserted by slightly may be required to connect multiple devices to a single IOX port on a GEOTAB device. Contact your GEOTAB sales representative to get the correct cable. Receiver 14. Zip ties are provided for securing the Easy Receiver. A reclosable fastener (like Velcro brand or 3M Dual Lock, pictured left) is another option, but is not included in the kit. If using a reclosable fastener, select a flat surface on which to mount it. Clear the surface of dust, oil, and moisture before applying adhesive tape. Ensure that the receiver is held securely in place. 15. Trim the ends of the zip ties as close to its head as possible, as a safety precaution, so as to not leave sharp ends.
