1. TheSensorisattachedtostandardcottonbriefsusingthemagnetsononesideoftheSensor andamagneticCapwhichclampsthesensortothebriefsatthepointofurination. 2. TheSensorisattachedtospecialDryBuddywiredbriefsusingthesnapsononesideofthe Sensor.Thesewiredbriefsareusedinplaceofstandardbriefs. UsingtheSensorwithitsCap TheSensorisattachedtostandardcottonbriefsatthepointofurinationbyplacingtheCaponthe insideofthebriefs(touchingthepatient'sskin),andthemagnetsoftheSensoroppositetheCapandon theoutsideofthebriefs.Inthecaseofmalebriefsthathaveaflap(openingforurination)theSensor shouldbeplacedtowardsthebottomoftheopeningandontheinsidelayerofcloth. Whenthepatienturinates,theurineisabsorbedby(soaksinto)thecottonbriefs.Whenthematerialof thebriefsbetweenthetwomagnetsiswet,thesensorwillbetriggeredandawirelessONsignalsentto theReceiver.RemovingtheSensorsmagnetsfromthewetbriefsstopsfurthertransmission. UsingtheSensorwithDryBuddyWiredBriefs Page2of10 AfterthepatientwearstheDryBuddywiredBriefs,theSensorsmalesnapsareinsertedintothefemale snapsoftheBriefstilltheyarefirmlyattached,andtheVelcroonthebriefsattachedaroundtheSensor tohelpkeepitfirmlyinplace. Whenthepatienturinates,theurineisabsorbedby(soaksinto)thecottonbriefs.Whenthematerialof thebriefsbetweentwoadjacentwiresiswet,thesensorwillbetriggeredandawirelessONsignalsent totheReceiver.RemovingtheSensorfromthewetbriefsstopsfurthertransmission. GeneralNote:WhentheSensorsenseswetness,ittransmitstheONsignalforafractionofasecond. ThisissufficienttotriggerthewirelessDryBuddyFLEXReceiver(s)andgeneratethealarm.TheSensor staysinasleepstatefortwominutes,afterwhichtimeitwillagaintransmittheONsignalifitsenses wetness.Thiswillberepeatedtwo(2)times,afterwhichthesensorwillstopsendinganyfurtherON signals.However,tosensetheurineandtransmitasignal,theSensormustsenseaquickincreaseinthe wetnesslevelforaboutonesecondtobecertainthatthewetnessisbeingcausedbyurineandnot perspirationorsomeothergradualfactor.TheReceiver(s)onlyneedthefirstONsignalfromtheSensor tocauseit/themtogenerateanalarm,andwillcontinuetogeneratethealarmuntiltheReceiver(s) is/areturnedOFF.FurthertransmissionbytheSensorisnotneeded,anditisadvisabletodisconnectthe sensorfromthewetbriefssothattheSensorsbatterypowerisnotwastedwithrepeatedtransmissions forthesameincident.Werecommendthatthesensorbepromptlyremovedfromthewetbriefs.Before washing/cleaningtheSensor,pleasebecertaintoturntheentiresystemOFFbypressingtheRemotes OFFswitchtwice(2times),ormanuallypressingtheMPSbuttonontheReceiver. THEDryBuddyFLEXREMOTE ThepurposeoftheDryBuddyFLEXRemoteistomakeusingtheDryBuddyFLEXsystemconvenientforthe caregiver/parent,andtherebyhelpthepatient(child). Plugthereceiverintoa110V120VAC60Hzpoweroutlet.Thisisthetypicalwallpoweroutletfoundin homesandbuildingsintheU.S.A,Canada,andsomeothercountries.TheReceiverwillbeOFF,andno LEDlightswillbeon. 1. ToturntheMainPowerSupply(MPS)on,manuallypresstheMPSswitchontheReceiveronce, orpresstheONbuttonatthebottomoftheRemote.Asinglebeepwillsound,andtheLEDat thebottomrightoftheReceiverwillturnBlue.ThissingleBluelightindicatesthattheReceiver isinitsREADYstate,andcanreceivetheSensorsignalwhichwouldturnitsalarm(s)on. 2. AccessoryalarmscanbeaddedtoeachDryBuddyFLEXReceiver.EachReceiverhastwo12VDC 500mapoweroutletsontherightside.Anyaccessorywhichworkswiththispowerandhasa suitablepowerplugcanbeattached.Asexamples,DryBuddyprovidesasoptionalaccessoriesa BedShakerandanAudioAlarm,whichusethese12Vpoweroutletsandcanbesetonornextto thepatientsbed.ThesealarmswouldsupplementthealarmsoundingfromtheReceiver.When theReceiversalarmisturnedONorOFF,theseattachedalarmswillalsobeturnedONorOFF. 5. TheAlarmTestSwitch(ATS)isusedtotesttheReceiversalarmandallattachedalarms,by providingpowertothemandturningthemallON.TheATSswitchwillneedtobedepressedfor afewseconds.Atthistime,theLEDonthelowerleftoftheReceiverwillblinkRed.The accessoryaudioalarmvolumecontrolcanbeadjustedatthistime.WhenintheATSmode,the builtinspeakersvolumecannotbeadjusted,andthisspeakersvolumemustbeadjustedwhen outoftheATSmodebyusingthe+orbuttonasdescribedin3.YoumustexittheATSmode bypressingtheMPSbuttononceortheRemoteOFFbuttononce.Thiswillagainplacethe ReceiverinitsREADYstate,andtheBlueLEDwilllight. 6. TurnalloftheReceiverstotheirREADYstatebypressingtheONbuttonontheRemote.Every ReceiversBlueLEDshouldlight.ThisindicatesthattheRemoteissynchronizedwiththe Receivers. 4.
