Features Operational Range: Your monitor's typical transmission/reception range is 650 feet (198 m) depending on battery power and possible obstructions (e.g., walls) that radio waves encounter. Power Light: The Power Light will illuminate green whenever the unit is turned on, whether the unit is stationary (plugged into adapter) or portable (using battery power). Channel A/B: If interference occurs, change BOTH your Babys Unit and Parent's Unit to the alternate frequency channel. The WhisperConnect Nursery Monitor operates over public airwaves. Transmission from your Baby's Unit may be picked up by another product if it is on the same frequency. Your Parents Unit may also pick up transmission from another product if it is broadcasting on the same frequency. Sound Lights: Sound Lights light up when the Parent's Unit receives sounds. The more lights that are lit, the louder the sounds. Low Battery Indicator: When battery power in the Parent's Unit is low, the Power Light/Low Battery Indicator will flash. To recharge, attach the AC adapter to the Parent's Unit, plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet, then set Power/Volume Dial to ON. Out-of-Range Indicator and Alarm: All Sound Lights will light up and flash, and an alarm will sound on your Parents Unit if:
The units are taken out of range of one another. The units are set to different channels. Power to the Baby's Unit is lost. A strong interfering signal starts on the selected channel. The Out-of-Range Indicator and Alarm can only be stopped by re-establishing contact between the two units or by turning off the Parent's Unit. This alarm feature is designed to give you confidence and reassurance that your Evenflo WhisperConnect Nursery Monitor is functioning properly. Parent Unit Finder: Press the Parent Unit Finder Button on Baby's Unit to activate the locating signal. Once the Parent's Unit is located, turn Power Switch OFF then ON to deactivate the signal. Additional Parent Unit: You may expand WhisperConnect capacity by adding additional parent units (sold separately). Please consult the owners manual included with the additional parent units for expand warning and safety instructions. oo Using Your Monitor The Babys Unit Parent Unit Finder Button Power/Volume Dial Antenna AC Adapter Power Light Microphone The Baby's Unit primarily sends sounds to the Parent's Unit. When used as a walkie-talkie it can also receive sounds. It is powered by a hardwired (non-removable) AC adapter. 1. Place the Babys Unit on a hard flat surface 5 to 10 feet away from the baby. DO NOT place it on a soft surface or it may tip over. 2. Direct the front of the Babys Unit towards the baby. Be sure that there arent any large objects blocking the path between the Babys Unit and the baby. 3. Fully extend the cord, and plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. 4. Turn on the Baby's Unit by rotating the Power/Volume Dial; adjust the volume. The Power Light will glow green. 5. Slide the Channel Switch to Channel A or B. Ensure the Babys Unit is set to the same channel as the Parent's Units. 6. When receiving sounds from the Parents Unit, have someone listen to the Babys Unit to check volume level. AC Adapter Talk Low Battery Indicator Button Power/Volume Dial Channel Switch Speaker Adapter Jack The Parent's Unit receives sound from the Babys Unit and is powered by either rechargeable batteries (already in the unit) or by the AC adapter included with the unit. To Use as Monitor:
1. Ensure Parents Unit is charged. To charge, connect AC adapter (provided) to Parents Unit and plug into standard wall outlet. To charge while monitoring, set Power/Volume Dial to ON. A full charge requires 12 continuous hours. 2. Check the channel switch. Ensure the Babys Unit is set to the same channel as the Parent's Unit. 3. Use the Parent's Unit in a different room from the Babys Unit. 4. Place the Parent's Unit where you can easily monitor it by sight or sound. When using the adapter, plug it into a standard wall outlet. When using batteries, wear the Parent's Unit using the belt clip or place it where you can easily see or hear it. 5. Turn on the Parent's Unit by rotating the Power/Volume Dial; adjust the volume. The Power Light will glow green. If the Power Light flashes, it indicates that battery power is low and Parent's Unit needs to be recharged. NOTE: All sound Lights will light up and flash on the Parent's Unit if it is not properly receiving signals from the Baby's Unit. 6. Have someone speak into the Baby's Unit to verify sound transmission. 7. Turn the Parents Unit OFF when not in use. To Use as Walkie-talkie:
1. Set both Parent's and Babys Units channel switches to same channel (either A or B). 2. Set all Power/Volume Dials to ON and adjust the volume. 3. Hold Parent's Units 12 - 18 inches from mouth. 4. Speak from Parent's Unit to another Parent's Unit, press and hold the bottom of theTalk Button, being speaking when hearing a beep tone at speaker.(Two beep tone means the connection is unsuccessful and need to press the Talk button again) 5. Speak from Parent's Unit to Baby's Unit, press and hold the top of the Talk Button, being speaking when hearing a beep tone at speaker.(Two beep tone means the connection is unsuccessful and need to press the Talk button again) 6. Speak from Parent's and Baby's Units, press and hold both top and bottom of the Talk Button. Adjust as necessary. 8. Turn the Parent's Unit OFF when not in use. Troubleshooting Guide NOTE: If, after checking all of the solutions below, you believe that your WhisperConnnect Parent/Baby Unit is damaged, please call ParentLink at 1-800-233-5921. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION Power Light isnt working. | Unit isnt getting power. Make sure BOTH units are properly plugged into the wall and the outlet is switched on. Make sure both the Parent's Unit and the Babys Unit are set to the same channel. e Recharge battery by attaching the AC adapter and plugging it into an outlet. Reception is poor due to static, buzzing or interference. Other household appliances, cordless phones, fluorescent lights or motors may be disrupting the signal. Parent's Unit may be out of effective range. Battery is weak. Turn off, unplug or move the device that is causing the problem. Move the Parent's Unit closer to the Babys Unit. e Recharge battery by attaching the AC adapter and plugging it into an outlet. All Sound Lights flash and alarm sounds (Parent's Unit only). Parent's Unit is outside the transmission range of the Babys Unit. Babys Unit and Parent's unit are on different channels. Baby's Unit is not turned on, or not plugged into a working outlet. Battery in Parent's unit is weak. Move Parent's Unit closer to the Babys Unit. Make sure that both units are set to the same channel. Turn the Power Switch on the Baby's Unit to the ON position. Check the AC outlet to be sure it is working. Recharge battery by attaching the AC adapter and plugging it into an outlet. Power Light flashes Battery is weak.

Babys Unit is picking up sounds from the Parent's Unit because they are too close to each other. Volume may be set too high. Move the Parent's Unit at least 10 feet away from the Babys Unit. e Lower the volume. A neighbor has a similar baby monitor, cordless phone or walkie talkie that is transmitting sounds on the same frequency channel. Parent's Unit is picking up sounds or static from outside your home. Change the frequency channel that is in use. Be sure to change the channel on BOTH units.
