This cordless telephone system has many complex features and the operation key has different functions under different working conditions. If an Error appears on the LCD display this means the cordless software system has stopped working. This may be caused by incorrect operation, interference or power fluctuations. To reset the Base, take off the base unit power adapter and plug-in again. To reset the handset, remove the battery pack and plug in again. 21 Tips for operational problem The power light is off on the base unit. Has the AC power cord been installed as outlined in the INSTALLATION section?
Is the power outlet working?
Does the power outlet control by a wall switch that is turned ON?
The handset LCD display "STBY" does not show when the battery is plugged in. Is the battery pack securely inserted into the handset?
Is the battery pack charged?
If the battery is secure and charged, check for a defective battery by interchanging batteries with one in a working handset and see if the problem follows the battery. Can't get dial tone to dial a call or answer incoming call. Is the handset channel group & security code number set same as base unit?
Are you waiting for the handset to ring before you answer a call?
Communication range is poor Experiencing unusual static or interference. Is there a metal object between the handset and base antenna?
Can not use the dial tone to call out. Do you have DTMF service? If not, please refer to Programming to set to PULSE dialing. Sometimes get a "fast" busy signal from the central office. Wait for dial tone before dialing. Having trouble in answering calls by pushing any keys. Wait for the ring coming out from the handset before answering. Did you program other handset as the Preferred Ringing Handset?
Is the handset out of range?
IMPORTANT Your cordless telephone is like a sensitive radio or TV appliance - it needs a friendly environment for best performance. Avoid installing the base near metal surfaces or objects that could "block" the antenna from handset signals. Avoid placing the base near electronic appliances that might be sources of radio frequency interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators, TV sets, light dimmer switches. Still have a problem after you have tried everything. In case that any fault or trouble still persists after you have precisely checked and corrected, contact your distributor or qualified serviceman. It is not recommended that the user should do more than tips as mentioned above. Do not try to dismantle the unit to avoid electric shocks. 22
