Section Three: FCC Notice 3.1 FCC Compliance This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures:
-
-
-
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
-
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. FCC Caution: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. IMPORTANT NOTE:
FCC Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. HON HAI PRECISION IND. CO., LTD. declared that J07H081 is limited in CH0~78 from 2402 to 2480 MHz by specified firmware controlled in USA. This device is intended only for OEM integrators under the following conditions:
The transmitter module may not be co-located with any other transmitter or antenna. As long as conduction above is met, further transmitter test will not be required. However, the OEM integrator is still responsible for testing their end-product for any additional compliance requirements required with this module installed (for example, digital device emissions, PC peripheral requirements, etc.). IMPORTANT NOTE: In the event that these conditions can not be met (for example certain laptop configurations or co-location with another transmitter), then the FCC authorization is no longer considered valid and the FCC ID can not be used on the final product. In these circumstances, the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the end product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC authorization. End Product Labeling The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following: Contains TX FCC ID:
MCLJ07H081. Manual Information That Must be Included The OEM integrator has to be aware not to provide information to the end user regarding how to install or remove this RF module in the users manual of the end product which integrate this module. The users manual for OEM integrators must include the following information in a prominent location IMPORTANT NOTE: To comply with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements. The antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Industry Canada Statement Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
1) this device may not cause interference and 2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device Appendix

(FOR Loop antenna only) Report No.: RF940606H08B Reference No.: 951108H01 25 Report Format Version 2.0.5 4.2.3 TEST PROCEDURES a. The EUT was placed on the top of a rotating table 0.8 meters above the ground at a 10 meter semi-anechoic chamber. The table was rotated 360 degrees to determine the position of the highest radiation. b. The EUT was set 3 meters away from the interference-receiving antenna, which was mounted on the top of a variable-height antenna tower. c. The antenna is a broadband antenna, and its height is varied from one meter to four meters above the ground to determine the maximum value of the field strength. Both horizontal and vertical polarizations of the antenna are set to make the measurement. d. For each suspected emission, the EUT was arranged to its worst case and then the antenna was tuned to heights from 1 meter to 4 meters and the rotatable table was turned from 0 degrees to 360 degrees to find the maximum reading. e. The test-receiver system was set to Peak Detect Function and Specified Bandwidth with Maximum Hold Mode. f. If the emission level of the EUT in peak mode was 10 dB lower than the limit specified, then testing could be stopped and the peak values of the EUT would be reported. Otherwise the emissions that did not have 10 dB margin would be re-tested one by one using peak, quasi-peak or average method as specified and then reported in a data sheet. NOTE:
1. The resolution bandwidth and video bandwidth of test receiver/spectrum analyzer is 120kHz for Quasi-peak detection (QP) at frequency below 1GHz. 2. The resolution bandwidth is 1MHz and video bandwidth of test receiver/spectrum analyzer is 3MHz for Peak detection at frequency above 1GHz. The resolution bandwidth of test receiver/spectrum analyzer is 1 MHz for Average detection (AV) at frequency above 1GHz. 3. The resolution bandwidth of test receiver/spectrum analyzer is 1 MHz and the video bandwidth is 10 Hz for Average detection (AV) at frequency above 1GHz. 4.2.4 DEVIATION FROM TEST STANDARD No deviation Report No.: RF940606H08B Reference No.: 951108H01 26 Report Format Version 2.0.5 4.2.5 TEST SETUP For the actual test configuration, please refer to the related item Photographs of the Test Configuration. 4.2.6 EUT OPERATING CONDITIONS a. FCC ID: MCLJ07H081 Modular Approval Request Letter Advance Data Technology June 22, 2005 Dear Application Examiner, HON HAI PRECISION IND. CO., LTD.s ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate, FCC ID: MCLJ07H081, would like to have your authorization as a Full Modular Approval for portable exposure condition. The requirements of Public Notice DA00-1407 have been met and shown on the following statements. 1. The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding.: The radio portion of this module has been shielded, please see exhibition External Photo. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs. The EUT has buffered data inputs, it is integrated in chip BCM2045-95PIN. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. The chips RF converter which will influence the frequency radiation, have to be 1.5VDC powered. The USB interface provides 3.3VDC, so there are regulators in front of these chips, the part number of this regulator is BCM2045-95PIN. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of section 15.203 and 15.204(C). The EUT meets the FCC antenna requirements. The spurious emission, unique antenna connector and photo of antennas are shown in the test report. 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration The EUT was placed on an extended card which connected to Notebook Computer as a stand-alone configuration. The EUT was tested via the outside a Notebook Computer. Please see section Photographs of Test Configuration in the test report. 6. The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number. Please see exhibition Label Sample for the FCC ID of this module. And also in the exhibition Users Manual, there are instructions give to the OEM on how to label the end product. ADT No. 940606H08 FCC ID: MCLJ07H081 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. The EUT is compliant with all applicable FCC rules. Detail instructions for maintaining compliance are given in the Users Manual. 8. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure is compliant with all applicable RF exposure requirements. The EUT requirements. RF Exposure is addressed in the RF exposure exhibition. Please contact me if you have any further questions. Thanks for your attention.
