Hold down the [MODE] button by following the instructions described in the precautions guide. The AP-90M will have to be reset as its default. Enter Step 7 DFS function and channel auto setting The DFS function automatically avoids radio-frequency interference to Weather radars. The DFS conditions differ, depending on your location. NOTE: Whether or not the DFS function is enabled on a frequency is regulated by the local law, and cannot be disabled by users. The Wireless Bridging is not activated if a channel is used that requires the DFS function or if automatic channel selection is set. Refer to the PDF instruction manual on the Icoms website for setting details. The usable wireless LAN frequencies and channels differ, depending on your location. After setting a channel in the setting screen, restart the AP-90M. The AP-90M will then search for a weather ra-
dars signal for approximately 1 minute. While searching for a signal, [WIRELESS 1 or 2] will blink, and access to the AP-90M will be paused. When a weather radars signal is detected, the operating channel automatically changes to a different channel to avoid the interference. The DFS function pauses on the new channel, if the chan-
nel does not require the DFS. CONNECTION GUIDE WIRELESS ACCESS POINT AP-90M Read the PRECAUTIONS leaflet first, if you have not done so. Thank you for purchasing this Icom product. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reason-
able protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in ac-
cordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interfer-
ence to radio communications. However, there is no guaran-
tee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and re-
ceiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Other precautions For information about operating the PC or external devices, refer to their instruction manuals for details. The optional power adapter may at some time need to be replaced, depending on its life expectancy. The life of a pow-
er adapter differs according to the environment or condition in which the adapter is used. We recommend replacement when it has been used for ap-
proximately 5 years (When used under the ambient temper-
ature of 25C; 77F). Contact your local dealer for details. RF Exposure Warning This equipment must be installed and operated in accor-
dance with provided instructions and the antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other an-
tenna or transmitter. End-users and installers must be pro-
vided with antenna installation instructions and transmitter operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. FOR CANADA Canada, Industry Canada (IC) Notices This device complies with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
