General information about babybeep First of all, we would like to thank you for your preference. Having said that, we would like to draw attention to some general aspects, before entering into the merits of the operation of the product. babybeep is a system able to support the activity of parental control, or anyone who has under their care children up to 4 years of age during transport by car, as indicated by Italian Law 117/2018 and subsequent variations. babybeep - The Anti Abandonment Pad - allows you to meet the requirements of the Law, simply by placing it on the baby car seat, noting the presence of the child once it will take place in the car seat itself. The system is completed by the application babybeep, available on the App Store and Play Store - respectively for iOS and Android - so as to be able to warn the parent or guardian in the event that, moving away from the vehicle, is detected the presence on board the child. babybeep works even if the parents smartphone is inadvertently left in another place, or if it is off or with the function Bluetooth disabled, as the pad is equipped with an integrated audible warning device. If the babybeep system detects abnormal and risky behavior, will send a message through the servers of the Service Center of Innovation Prime S.r.l.
- containing the last detected location of the smartphone - to emergency contacts configured at the time the association between smartphones and babybeep was created. The abnormal and risky behavior is derived from the presence of the child on board the vehicle and assuming the absence of parental or guardian, detectable by the absence of the smartphone associated. 1.1. Keeping the pad in the position shown in Figure B1, open the pad hinge until the battery port is visible. (see Figure C) Insert the batteries in the battery port following the indicated polarities: once both batteries are correctly positioned, the pad will emit a short BEEP. 3. Close the hinge within 30 seconds of the BEEP and remove your hands from the pad at least 50 centimeters away. A long BEEP will signal the start of the automatic calibration phase. At this stage always stay at least 50 cm away and DO NOT place objects or bodies on the pad babybeep, otherwise the accuracy of the product in the detection of the child will be altered. After about 10 seconds, at the end of the automatic calibration phase, the Babybeep Pad will emit 3 short Beeps (BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!). The calibration phase is finished and the product is ready to operate and be combined with one or more smartphones. 2.3. The Application will ask for the consent of the user. Figure C USERS GUIDE BABYBEEP - 7 2.4. How to config emergency contacts on babybeep Before making the association between the Pad babybeep and the smartphone, the Application requires you to enter the data relating to the person using the smartphone and the emergency contacts necessary for the system to send alarm messages if babybeep detects situations of potential danger. The system requires you to enter at least 3 emergency contacts as required by law, up to an unlimited number of people to notify. Once this step is completed (Figure F), the system is ready for pairing with your smartphone. 2.5. Easy pairing between babybeep pad and your smartphone After the procedure described in point 2.4, position yourself near the pad that we have already installed on the seat as indicated in point 2.1. With your smartphone handy, place one hand over the Babybeep Pad. WARNING: no need to press hard because the pad sensor detects the presence and not the weight. After the first BEEP click on the button of the Application babybeep, on which will appear a message indicating the product code (Figure G) that was automatically detected by the system. At this point, remove your hand from the pad and enter the name we want to assign, such as the name of the child. The matching process is over! The Babybeep pad is ready for its daily use. 2.6. Adding other smartphones to babybeep It is possible to combine an unlimited number of smartphones with the Pad babybeep. To make further combinations, you must proceed as follows. After downloading the babybeep application on the new smartphone, as indicated in point 2.3, carry out the easy pairing process described in point 2.5. 2.7. The system supports an unlimited number of pairings between smartphones and babybeeppads. (Figure H with screened sequence) 2.8. What to do in case of pairing failure between babybeep and your smartphone If the matching process between the Babybeep Pad and the smartphone fails (see Figure L), we recommend repeating Figure F Figure G Figure H 8 - USERS GUIDE BABYBEEP the above mentioned in point 2.6, making sure that the product emits the BEEP when we put our hand on the Pad. In case you do not notice the BEEP, check the correct battery placement. If the batteries are not correctly positioned, they shall be suitably housed by verifying the correct polarity and repeating the product activation as indicated in point 2.2. Then perform again the facilitated coupling procedure described in point 2.5. After the easy matching procedure between the Babybeep Pad and at least one smartphone has been completed, the system is ready for its daily use. 3. babybeep daily use In everyday use the babybeep Application can report the following conditions:
"Not on board": the child is not sitting on the car seat equipped with babybeep and the smartphone is at the transmission range Bluetooth compared to the Pad babybeep. (Figure M)
"On board": the child is sitting on the car seat, while the smartphone associated is within reach of Bluetooth transmission compared to the Pad babybeep. (Figure N).
"Its still in the car": the child is still sitting on the seat equipped with Pad babybeep, but interrupts the Bluetooth transmission with the associated smartphone (Figure P). In this condition the pad will emit a BEEP every 10 seconds, while on the smartphone associated will appear an alarm message along with a countdown that starts from 120 seconds and a button OFF. If the OFF button is not pressed, interrupting the countdown, at the end of the 120 seconds messages will start to emergency contacts (Figure Q)
"The Pad babybeep emits a BEEP": when it detects the presence of the child
"The Pad babybeep emits two BEEP": when the child rises from the seat equipped with Pad babybeep that is NOT connected with a smartphone.
"The Pad babybeep emits four BEEP": when the child gets up from the seat equipped with Pad babybeep which is connected with a smartphone. Figure L Figure M Figure N Figure P Figure Q USERS GUIDE BABYBEEP - 9 4. What happens if I FORGET IN THE CAR THE SMARTPHONE PERFECTLY WORKING WITH BLUETOOTH ON AND AT THE SAME TIME THE CHILD IS ON BOARD, SITTING ON THE PAD babybeep?
The babybeep system is able to identify if the user has potentially forgotten the smartphone in the car. This function is activated if the smartphone associated with the pad on which the child is sitting is stationary for more than 10 minutes. In this case, the pad will start to beep every 10 seconds and the smartphone will be notified of potential danger by sound and vibration. If the user does not mute the alarm, an sms will be sent to emergency contacts with the associated smartphone location. .. I LEAVE MY SMARTPHONE AT HOME AND HAVE THE CHILD SEATED IN THE CHILD SEAT WITH A BABYBEEP PAD?
In this case, at the moment when the child will take position on the car seat, the Pad babybeep will find the failure to match with an associated smartphone. After issuing a BEEP that signals the acquisition of the presence of the child, it will continue to issue a BEEP every 10 seconds to remember the presence of the child on board. The sequence of the BEEP can be interrupted only by approaching an associated smartphone
(for example by going back on your steps to recover your phone). I SIT THE CHILD ON THE CHILD SEAT EQUIPPED WITH A BABYBEEP PAD, WITH A SMARTPHONE ASSOCIATED AND CONNECTED VIA BLUETOOTH AND DURING USE THE PHONE RUNS OUT OF BATTERY OR INTERRUPTS BLUETOOTH COMMUNICATION. In the cases indicated, the important point is that the system has initially recognized an association with a Smartphone. If the Bluetooth connection is interrupted due to:
the pad babybeep will begin to emit a BEEP every 10 seconds through the built-in buzzer alarm and until the condition remains so. .. THERE ARE TWO PEOPLE ON THE CAR WITH babybeep AND BOTH MATCHED THE PAD?
Battery phone run out;
Voluntary switching off of the telephone;
Voluntary shutdown of Bluetooth;
The Pad babybeep will match with the first smartphone that will respond to the research carried out by the pad itself as soon as the child is detected by the presence sensors. Notifications will only reach the smartphone that connected to the pad. If the communication should cease (for example, its user gets out of the vehicle) the child alarm notifications on board will reach the same user, which can cancel them aware that the other person is with the child. If the other users smartphone is switched off, or has been forgotten at home, the pad will start to emit a BEEP every 10 seconds, fulfilling its function. .. DOES THE BABYBEEP PAD BATTERY RUN OUT WHILE USING THE SYSTEM?
Given that during use the battery level is displayed on the application babybeep with a percentage from 100% (FULLY CHARGED) to 0%
(EXHAUSTED), it is recommended to change the batteries of the system when the charging percentage is close to 10%. Otherwise the system will not be able to operate. For battery replacement please refer to the procedure indicated in section 6.2. .. CAR CHANGE OR CHILD CAR SEAT CHANGE?
The Pad babybeep is equipped with an intelligent sensor that continues to update its calibration. In the case of radical changes, such as a new car or a new child car seat, we recommend repeating the activation of the product to ensure that babybeep can operate in the new environment as accurately as possible. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Move the Pad babybeep already installed on the car seat in the new car or place the Pad on the new car seat as described in point 2.1 4. 2. Open the pad hinge until the battery port is visible. (see Figure C) 3. Remove a battery for at least 5 seconds and then insert it again. The pad will emit a short BEEP. Close the zipper and at least 50 centimeters away within 30 seconds. A long BEEP will signal the start of the automatic calibration phase. At this stage always stay at least 50 centimeters away and DO NOT place objects or bodies on the pad babybeep, otherwise the accuracy of the product in the detection of the child will be altered. After about 10 seconds, at the end of the automatic calibration phase, the Babybeep Pad will emit 3 short Beeps (BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!). The calibration phase is finished and the product is ready to be combined with one or more smartphones. babybeep is ready for everyday use again. There is no need to repeat the association between the pad and the smartphones previously associated. 5. 5. babybeep other features 5.1. How to clean babybeep outyer lining The outer covering of the product is made with a special fabric with peculiar antibacterial characteristics. It is therefore not necessary to wash it. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid damage. To keep the surface of the Babybeep Pad clean, simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth. Only if necessary you can spray on the damp cloth a non-aggressive product for the sanitization of the fabric, such as those commonly used for sofas and armchairs, taking care to remove excess product once the cleaning is finished, always using a cloth moistened with only water. Only in case it is extremely necessary, you can remove the product and wash the fabric by hand with lukewarm water (30 degrees). In order not to alter the special characteristics of the fabric, it is recommended to perform this operation only in case of extreme need, maximum for 8 times. The following is the procedure:
1. Open the hinge and remove the batteries. 2. Remove the product, taking care that the inside is stored in a clean and dry place. Do not tamper with the connections, sensors, the audible alarm and the electronic circuit. 3.
