Appendix 6. User Manual EZ Disk Users Guide Using EZ Disk for the first time (Driver setup) 1. Operating Systems that do not require additional driver set-up If you already have Windows XP , Windows 2000, Windows Me, Mac 8.6+, Windows CE3.0 Linux Kernel Version 2.4.0+ on your computer , the device will be automatically recognized and driver installation will start when you connect the EZ Disk to the USB port of your PC. 2. Driver installation for Windows 98 & Second Edition (SE) Since Windows98 & SE does not support mass storage devices, a one-time installation of the device driver is required
(1) Run the install.exe at intops_98dri folder in the CD
(2) Click install button, then install is completed 3. Instruction for Linux Kernel Version 2.4+
Operating in Linux(Using Linux 2.4.X Mount Command):
1) Log in root 2) Connect the product into the USB port 3) Pop up the terminal (xterm, hanterm) 4) With the command mkdir/mnt/ezdisk, generate a folder ezdisk 5) Mount the device with the command mount/dev/sda1/mnt/ezdisk 6) With the command cd/mnt/ezdisk, move to disk folder 7) With the command ls, command that the following mount was done. After completing read and write, dismount with the command unmount/dev/sda1 and remove the product from USB port Installation and Basic functions of EZ Disk 1. Installation As your PC recognizes the EZ Disk, you can use it for the following usages:
(1) If your OS is Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows 98 An EZ Disk icon will appear when you connect the EZ Disk to your PC. This means the preparation is completed, so that you can use the device immediately. After the set up is completed, you can save, delete, edit and move data like hard drives or floppy diskettes.
(2) LED Indicator The LED indicator blinks when EZ Disk is activated and data is transferring. You may loose date if you remove the EZ Disk while transferring the data (LED is blinking). 2. Removing the device
(1) Windows XP Double click on "Safely Remove Hardware" from the taskbar at the bottom right hand side of the screen. Click on
"USB personal storage device" , then click on "Stop". When "Stop a hardware device" screen appears, click on
"OK". You can unplug the EZ Disk when "Safe to remover hardware" appears.
(2) Windows 2000 or Windows Me Double click on "Unplug or eject hardware" in the screen. Select the device name you want to remove then click on
"Stop". After checking the message of Safely remove hardware", click on Stop. When the message reads that the device can be safely removed, you can separate the EZ Disk from the system.
(3) Windows 98 You can remove the device when the LED indicator is not blinking (standby mode).
(4) Mac OS 8.6+
Drag and drop the EZ Disk icon into Trash icon. Remove the EZ Disk when the LED indicator stops blinking.

(1) Locate and execute FlashManager_Intops_V417.exe " from the installation CD. 2. Password
(1) Apply a password as you format the dick using Run EZ Disk Manager.
(2) Plug the EZ Disk into the USB port. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, locate Password.exe and execute it to use the Secure area of disk. 3. Capacity Partition
(1) Format the disk with allocated partitions using EZ Disk Manager.
(2) After plugging the EZ Disk into a USB port, locate ModeChange.exe using My Computer or Windows Explorer and execute it. You can partition the disk into Public Area and Secure Area which will be accessed by a password. 4. When you forgot your password
(1) When you forgot your password, you need to reformat the EZ Disk. Run the EZ Disk Manager Program and format entire disk. Be cautious! Once you format the disk, you will not be able to recover the previous data. Precautions
(1) You can prevent data error by removing the device only when the system is in standby mode (LED is NOT blinking).
