Square Golf gives you ball and club data by capturing images with high-speed camera and built-in infrared LED lighting. The launch monitor should be set up in a room with little to no sunlight. Additionally, the front of the launch monitor should not directly face sunlight. 9 GOLFLAUNCHMONITOR BALL PLACEMENT 10 TypeArea for ball hittingCenterFront-42cm, Right-23cmDimension15cm x 15cmTypeArea for virtual shotCenterFront-42cmDimension15cm x 15cm02Stickzone01Hittingzone0201 TARGET ALIGNMENT The default target line for the launch monitor is parallel to the front cover. You can reset the target line using alignment stick on the back of the launch monitor. When the alignment stick is placed in the `stick zone, the launch monitor adjusts the target line to match the alignment stick. When you restart the device, the target line resets to default. See figure below. 11 GOLFLAUNCHMONITOR020101Defaulttarget lineparallel to line of front cover of the launchmonitor02Resettarget lineDirection pointed by the alignment stick,up to +/-5 relative to the default target line TAKING SHOTS HITTING A BALL (FROM HITTING ZONE) To take a shot, place the ball in the `heating zone as shown in the figure below. Once the LED illuminates green, you can hit the ball. The club marker should be attached 20cm from the floor with the club upright as shown in the figure below. 13 GOLFLAUNCHMONITOR20cm VIRTUAL SHOT USING SWING STICK (FROM STICK ZONE) To take a virtual shot with a swing stick, place the ball in the `stick zone as shown in the figure below. Once the LED illuminates green, you can take a virtual shot with the swing stick. 14 01, 03, 060204, 0501Searching ballLED blinking blue02Placing ballPlace the ball in the `stick zone'03Ball readyLED blinks green04Shot readyPoint the stick to the ball and pause for more than 1second then LED illuminats green05Perform shotComplete shot using swing stick06SimulationData is processing - LED is blue SETUP AND SWING OF VIRTUAL SHOT When taking a virtual shot using a swing stick, the shot data is measured and analyzed by the balls position in your stance. During setup or downswing, it is considered as a completed setup/swing only if the target line of the swing stick is within a certain range
(-10cm to
+10cm) compared to the position of the golf ball. In the case of a completed shot, impact data of the shot is calculated by analyzing the path of the swing stick and the angle of the stick head. 15 GOLFLAUNCHMONITOR-10cm+10cm01020301Target line02Measure the angle ofthe head of the swingstick at the impactpoint to measure theface angle03Measure the 3D pathand speed of theswing stick head SHOT DATA Further club and ball data is available when using a patterned golf and a club marker is attached to the shaft. In the case of a virtual shot using a swing stick, the simulation is conducted by predicting the flight speed, direction, and spin of the ball by measuring the speed and path of the swing stick and the angle of the stick face.
