Included In Your Package Sold Separately Control Panel Cover Strobe Light The Guardian Battery Cover Remote control AC Adapter Before We Get Started What is ultrasonic sound?
Ultrasonic sounds are frequencies which are higher than the range of human hearing. However, these sounds are very irritating to nuisance pests, causing them to flee. Will I be able to hear it?
The range of sounds produced by The Guardian include both audible and inaudible sounds. Many people can hear sounds from both settings 1 and 2, on the SELECT-A-PEST dial. How long before theyre gone?
Although some customers report positive results in a few days, we do recommend giving The Guardian two to three weeks for best results. How does the infrared motion sensor work?
The Guardian uses an infrared sensor which detects the movement of a heat source, such as an animal. The Guardian will detect movement up to 100 ft. in front of the unit, with a clear line of sight. Why should I use predator sounds?
The Guardian uses pre-recorded mountain lion calls which creates a danger zone large pests will not want to enter. What is the coverage area?
The Guardian will detect movement and send sounds up to 100 ft. in front of the unit in a clear line of sight. 100ft The Control Panel 1 2 POWER MODE OFF MOTION DETECTOR CONSTANT PREDATOR SOUNDS NO YES RACCOONS, 2 CHIPMUNKS SQUIRRELS, CATS, 3 OPOSSUMS BIRDS, DEER 1 BATS, MICE, RATS, DOGS 4 SELECT-A-PEST 3 MAX MIN PREDATOR VOLUME 1 2 3 Power Mode Start by selecting one of two options: CONSTANT or MOTION DETECTOR. CONSTANT mode sends out a continuous stream of unpleasant sounds or wild cat calls. MOTION DETECTOR will only send out sounds when The Guardian detects movement. Predator Sounds Moving the PREDATOR SOUNDS switch to YES disables the SELECT-A-PEST mode, using predator sounds only. The volume of the predator sounds can be easily adjusted using the PREDATOR VOLUME dial. SELECT-A-PEST Dial The SELECT-A-PEST dial sets the ultrasonic sound frequency and has four main groups. These groups are labeled with pest names to provide a starting point to target your specific pest. Each group has more than one setting to help you dial in The Guardian to your needs. Please keep in mind that, just like humans, all animals have different hearing ranges. Different animals are affected by different sounds - or settings. Most importantly, make sure you are giving The Guardian at least one week on a specific setting before making changes. The Guardian Instruction Manual Power Options The Guardian can be powered by 6 C size batteries or by an AC adapter. To install batteries, remove the two screws that hold the cover in place and remove the cover. Install the batter-
ies as shown and replace the cover. Optional Accessories (Sold Separately) Remote Control Use the remote control to activate The Guardian if the pest is outside the motion detector range or too small to trigger the unit automatically. OPTION 1: Battery Installation OPTION 2: AC Adapter When using the optional AC adapter, plug the adapter into the wall. Lift the rubber flap on The Guardian and attach the cord. Installing The Guardian 1) Identify where your pest problem is. 2) Adjust the control panel based on your particular pest problem (see Control Panel section for further directions) 3) Place The Guardian at the pests level. If targeting smaller pests, put The Guardian lower to the ground and higher for large pests. 4) Do not place the Guardian directly in standing water. 5) Ensure there are no solid objects directly in front of The Guardian that might block the ultrasonic sound. 6) Monitor pest activity over the next week. Adjust the control panel settings as necessary. Allow up to 2 to 3 weeks for best results. Strobe Light The Strobe Light connects via a small 2-pin plug and twists on top of The Guardian. This optional accessory produces regular flashes of light that are irritating to nocturnal animals and can be used indoors or out. Specifications Sound coverage: 6,000+ sq. ft.
