Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 3 3 44 Quick Start Guide This quick start guide will assist you to setup your receiver within minutes. You must read the entire users guide to learn how to use all the unique features of the Rhinosat FTA digital satellite receiver. Setup:
Unpack your receiver box and plug into wall socket. Turn on the receiver and wait for opening screen to show on your TV screen. Select Installation. Then Ant. Setup. Selecting the Ant. Setup will take you directly to the antenna setup screen where you will select the appropriate satellite for your region. Select your antenna number Select your Satellite Select your LNB frequency Select your 2nd LNB Freq. if you have one Select no to 12 volt Select no to 22khz tone Select your DiseqC A for 1, B for 2 etc Or Auto if you prefer No for C/Ku Band Then press the blue button (CH Search) On your remote control NEXT 5 5 Once you select your satellite you might Notice that the strength & quality bars are gray. This means your system is looking at a non active TP. You can not begin downloading channels If your bars are gray. You may get a Message after channel scan saying (No channels Found). Move your yellow bar by using down arrow key to Transponder until it is highlighted with yellow. Move the right arrow to switch TP from your first TP to the second or third or fourth TP which ever comes first with yellow bars on the strength bar and the quality bar. Meaning as you move the arrow to the right and once the S & Q bar becomes Yellow this means you have locked on the first active TP, so leave it there and do not switch any further and now you are ready to begin scanning For all free to air channels. Then move the arrow to bottom of screen and Highlight the (Search Sat). This has three selec tions init. Search Sat or Search TP or Network Search. Push the right Arrow and select search TP. NEXT 6 6 Once You moved selection to (Search TP) now Press the dark blue button on your remote Control and which appears on your screen as
(Advanced Search). Note : Advanced Search is similar to features of Smart Search or Blind Scan. You will now get a smaller screen with a Menu called Search options. Highlight the Fourth option on Search Type (Satellite) and Push the right arrow and change option to TP. Once on TP , you are now ready to perform an advanced system search. The receiver is now going to search for all active transponders and download the channels accordingly. Now move your selection to the last option At the bottom of the small sub screen and Select Search, then press OK on your remote Control. The system now will switch to the Search screen to begin channel downloading NEXT 7 7 You will immediately see the channel download Screen which is a TV/Radio list of all free to Air channels being downloaded. The first screen will look black foe few seconds until download be gins. This is a normal effect. Please wait For channel listing to show after few seconds. In few seconds, the download begins and the Channel names will show inside the block. Whil e system is downloading channels, you will see the yellow bar on the right saying (Searching). Once searching is complete, it will turn into
(View). Please hit View and system will perform a saving data procedure then goes into the main screen to watch your television. Depending on your software version, you may Have different download screens. One might Look like the one on the right and the other may Look like the one above. Either way, the result is The same. Now, you can watch your free to air programs And you can also check the program listing when available by pressing EPG (Electronic Program Guide). You can get 7 day EPG if available on your satellite of choice. If you do not get EPG data This is because your satellite of choice does not Support EPG. Do not forget to set the clock in your Rhinosat To get full EPG (program listing). Check time setting section in this manual to see details. You will not get EPG if you do not set the correct time zone in your receiver. Last channel automatically saving 10 10 GENERAL INFORMATION For Your Safety This FTA-Model 725i has been manufactured to meet international safety standards. Please read all of the safety and operating instructions before operating the product. And keep all safety and operating instructions for future reference. 1. Main Supply : 90-250V AC, 50/60Hz, 30W 2. Overloading Do not overload a wall outlet, extension cord, or adapter as this may result in fire electric shock. 3. Liquids Do not expose the FTA-Model 725ito rain or moisture. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing water and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. 4. Cleaning Disconnect the FTA-Model 725ifrom the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a light damp cloth for cleaning. 5. Ventilation The slots on top of the FTA-Model 725imust be left uncovered to allow proper airflow to the unit. Do not stand the FTA-Model 725ion soft furnishing carpets. Do not expose the FTA-Model 725ito direct sunlight or do not place it near a heater. Do not stack electronic equipments on top of the Brand Name. Keep distance about minimum 10cm from the wall when its installed. 6. Attachments Do not use any attachments not recommended by product manufacturer as they may cause hazards. 7. Connection to the Satellite Dish LNB Disconnect the FTA-Model 725ifrom the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the satellite dish. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN DAMAGE THE LNB. 8. Connection to the TV Disconnect the FTA-Model 725ifrom the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the TV. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN DAMAGE THE TV. 9. Earthing The LNB cable MUST BE EARTHED to the system earth for the satellite dish. The earth system must comply with SABS 061. 10. Location Place the FTA-Model 725iindoor in order to prevent potential damage from lightning, rain, or direct sunlight. 11. Servicing Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 11 11 GENERAL INFORMATION Unpacking Make sure you have received all the items in the FTA-Model 725iSatellite Receiver carton. FTA-Model 725i Remote Control Unit Users Guide Batteries RCA CABLE General Operation Throughout this manual you will notice that the everyday operation of your FTA-Model 725i is based on a series of user friendly on screen display and menus. These menus will help you get the most from your Brand Name, guiding you through installation, channel organizing, viewing and many other functions. All function can be carried out using the buttons on the RCU, and some of the function can also be carried out using the buttons on the front panel. If at any time when you using the menus you want to return to the normal TV mode, press the TV/AV button. The FTA-Model 725i is easy to use, always at your command and adaptable for future advances. Please be aware that new software may change the functionality of the Brand Name. In the case of your facing difficulties with the operation of your Brand Name, please consult the relevant section of this manual, including the Problem Shooting, or alternatively call your dealer or a customer service adviser. 12 12 GENERAL INFORMATION Remote Control Unit (RCU) Key Function Turns power ON/OFF of the DSR When watching a channel, mutes the sound 0 ~ 9 Enter number of the required menu item or select a channel number to watch. Refer to the manuals supplied with the equipment for the installation of outdoor equipment such as the dish antenna. You can start from this Installation wizard which enables end-users to set up the receiver from a factory default or you can push CANCEL to set up the receiver from the main page. You can choose your preference for language and you can push NEXT to move to next step or simply push CANCEL to go to a main page. In next page, you can set up a timer and see a full list of satellite and push NEXT to set up an Antenna set up and channel search through this installation wizard. 19 6 MAIN PAGE You can set up all the necessary functions and settings for the FTA-Model 725i in this main page The main menu has 5 sub-menus as follows.

: You can select maximum 16 antennas with the combination switches. 2) Satellite

: Enter the proper LNB frequency referring to your LNB using numeric key on the RCU or use KEY PAD displayed by pressing OK key. If you have a dual LNB, enter the proper value in the both of value box. 4) Switches (0/12 Volt, 22KHz Tone/ DiSEqC) : You can select the switches with which you want to configure the antenna. 5) C/Ku band control : You can select C/Ku band control by switches types. 21 8 USER INSTALLATION 6) East, West Limit
: Press E key on the RCU until your antenna will be reach to be easternmost and then press OK key on the RCU. The message of Would you like to set East limit of DiSEqC motor? will be displayed for your confirmation, please select OK button by pressing OK key on the RCU and then East limit value will be changed as SET. The usage of West limit is same as East limit. 7) Reset DiSEqC limit
: If you want to reset the East limit or West limit, place a cursor on Reset DiSEqC Limit button and then press OK key on the RCU. The message of Would you like to reset limit for DiSEqC positioner? will be displayed for your confirmation, please select OK button by pressing OK key on the RCU. The cursor will move to the East limit button so that you can reset the limit. After that, please reset West limit same as before. After setting all necessaries, please push
CH Search on your Remote to finish antenna setup menu and move to channel search page.

* Precondition for using USALS function.
-> Check if the position of the antenna motor is on 0degree.
-> Now the maximum limit of the antenna is 1 meter. When you choose the satellite of which you want to use the USALS function, its direction and longitude will be displayed. Input Your Longitude and Your Latitude.
(Please refer to the manual attached to the USALS Motor.) It will search for Satellite Location and automatically go to the Channel Search screen. After setting all necessaries, please press Go to Sat Position to finish USALS antenna setup menu and move to channel search page. 24 2 USER INSTALLATION Channel Search-1)DiSEqC 1.2 1) Antenna

: Select a satellite using keys or if you press OK key. Then, the list of satellite will be displayed so that you can select easily. You can see the information of the selected satellite in the right side.
: After selecting a satellite, please select Position button and then keep pressing E or W key on the RCU until selected satellite is locked. If the satellite is locked correctly, the white color of signal label bar will be changed to yellow. When you press OK key on the RCU, the message of Would you like to set the value of current positioner? will be displayed for your confirmation. 4) Transponder

: You can press Edit key on the RCU and choose Modify TP On/Off to change the values in these functions. 25 3 USER INSTALLATION 6) CH Search/ Advance
Selection : All/ FTA Only You can search either All channels or FTA only
Sort : FTA/ CAS/ A~Z/ OFF You can search either FTA channels, Scrambled channels, A~Z or all channels.
NIT : On/ Off Search Channels transmitted by satellite network information table (NIT)
Search : SAT/ TP/ PID 1) Search channels in one satellite which selected on Satellite column. 2) Search channels in one TP which selected on TP column. 3) Search channels in one PID which selected on PID column 7) Delete TP
: You can press Edit key and select Delete TP to delete any of the transponders listed. 8) Rename SAT
: If you want to change the name of a satellites, select a satellite and press Edit key and choose Rename SAT and keypad dialog box will be displayed and then you can change the name of a satellite by using an arrow keys on the key pad. 9) Search : After all the set up for a channel search, you can press SEARCH to scan the channels by a satellite, TP or network.

keys or if you press OK key, the list of satellite will be displayed so that you can select easily. You can see the information of selected satellite in the right side. 4) ~ 9) Please refer to DiSEqC 1.2 type antenna. After searching for SATELLITE 1, choose another satellite on the CHANNEL SEARCH screen. It will automatically locate the satellite and search for SIGNAL to start channel searching.

Re-Sync When all location of searched satellites are shifted by unknown reason, you can realign all of them at once if you adjust one satellites location. 28 6 USER INSTALLATION MultiSAT Search FTA-Model 725i enables end users to have a multi-SAT search in each antenna type such as Fixed, DiSEqC1.2 and DiSEqC1.3. After all the necessary antenna set-up, simply press CH Search/ Advance key to open a search options. You can choose one of the options and press SEARCH and you are automatically moved to multi-sat search box and you can choose all the satellites you are searching for.

Re-Sync When all location of searched satellites are shifted by unknown reason, you can realign all of them at once if you adjust one satellites location. 29 7 USER INSTALLATION System Setting System Setting menu allows you to change the principal option and to set other items proper to your environment by pressing OK key on the RCU. 1) OSD Language Select your desired OSD Language. 2) Audio Language Select your desired audio language to be in the top priority under the condition that this language is supported from the channel. 3) Subtitle Language Select your desired Subtitle Language. 4) LNB power The default value of LNB power is ON. Select Off in the case of the LNB power is not necessary. 5) Screen Format If your TV supports 16:9 screen format and selected channel provides 16:9 format program, select 16:9. 6) TV type Select the type according to your TV type. 7) Display Info Bar You can select the second Info Bar displayed on the screen. 8) Start On Channel If you press OK key, then the channel list is displayed. You can select one channel of the list, the selected channel starts whenever you turn on FTA-Model 725i. 9) DiSEqC Repeat Select your DiSEqC. 30 8 USER INSTALLATION Parent Lock This function allows you to lock the channel with your password in order to prevent from accessing the channel by your children or any other person. And also you can protect your installed data and information using Install Lock.

How to use Parent Lock 1) If you activate parent lock function, go to the TV channel Manager Page. 2) Press Open command box and select Lock 3) Select channel which you want to Lock 4) Press OK then symbol is marked. 5) Exit this menu and Turn off the FTA-Model 725i Note : To activate Parent Lock, you have to turn off FTA-Model 725i once. And turn on the FTA-
Model 725i and select channel which is locked. Then enter your password.

Note : Default password is 0000 Warning : Do not forget your password in order not to fail to operate FTA-Model 725i Factory Default If you want to bring FTA-Model 725i back to the factory default condition, select Factory Default and press OK key. Then Warning message will be displayed. To confirm select OK and press OK key. Warning : You will lose all of data and information which was installed. 32 1 GENERAL FUNCTION The following describes the basic functions of your FTA-Model 725i while watching satellite TV or listening to satellite radio. FTA-Model 725i enables you to watch various scrambled channels by inserting the Smartcards according to your choice. While watching, the current channel information will be shown on the bottom of the screen if you press INFO button on the RCU. Select Channel If you want to select channel, use CH key on the front panel, PR+, PR- key on the RCU or numeric key on the RCU to select a channel and press OK key on the RCU. In addition to the above normal function, FTA-
Model 725i provides more convenient channel change function. While watching, press OK/LIST key on the RCU or front panel. Then channel list will be displayed on the screen. If press EXIT key, the channel list will be disappeared. You can sort channel list by All, Favorite group, Satellite, Alphabet, CAS as follows. 1) All 2) Favorite group 3) Satellite 4) Alphabet
: It shows you all channel list sort by alphabet.
: You can make favorite group in the menu of channel manager. It shows that group, and you can select one favorite group, then channel list belongs that group will be displayed.
: If you select Satellite, the list of satellite searched in FTA-Model 725i will be displayed. Then you can select satellite you want. After that, you can see channel list belongs to the satellite.
: If you select A or B channel list(head of channel name A or B) will be displayed. 33 2 5) CAS: If you select CAS, you can sort the channels by CA system. GENERAL FUNCTION Pause the frame Press PAUSE key on the RCU to pause the screen. To bring it back to the normal mode, press PAUSE key once again.
* Only video will be paused during PAUSE function. (Audio is active.) Previous channel recall Press PR key on the RCU to move the previous channel which you watched before. TV & Radio switching While viewing TV channel, press TV/RADIO key on the RCU to move radio mode. Press this key once again, it will bring you back to the TV mode.. TV & VCR mode While viewing satellite channel, press TV/AV key on the RCU to move TV mode. Press this key once again, it will bring you to the VCR mode. To move satellite channel, press this key once again. Note : In this case, you can see the current mode through LED display on the front panel.
*This function will be provided with Scart Connector. 34 3 GENERAL FUNCTION Channel Information Every time you change channels, you will receive program information for a few second. While viewing channel, you can see the current channel information anytime, pressing INFO key on the RCU. Note : The channel information can be displayed for 2,4,6,8,10, or 12 seconds on the screen. (You can arrange the time by the System setting menu.) Volume & Audio Control 1) Volume Control To increase or decrease volume, use key on the RCU or VOL on the front panel. Note : FTA-Model 725i has 18 volume levels and this shall be controlled from the adjusted volume level of your TV. 2) Mute To mute the sound, press button on the remote control. To bring back the normal sound condition, press key once again. 3) Audio Control Press the key repeatedly to select one of three possible Audio settings (Left, Right and Stereo) The current audio condition will be displayed in the channel information 4) Language Selection Press the AUDIO key on the RCU to repeatedly select audio-language. This is dependent on the transmission of audio signal which supports Multi-
language. 35 4 GENERAL FUNCTION Position If you need to adjust the antenna more accurately to watch a clear channel, press POSITION key on the RCU and then the position bar will be displayed. Press E or W key on the RCU to adjust for clear channel. Otherwise, you can use this function for manual search instead of Auto tracking. 36 5 CHANNEL MANAGER FTA-Model 725i provides most powerful channel managing function in the world and this function allows you to have a more interesting and useful operation as well as viewing channels simply. Channel Manager Channel manager consists of TV channel manager and Radio channel manager. Press OK key placing the cursor on the TV Channel. Note :Since the usage of Radio Channel manager is same as that of TV channel manager, in this menu only TV Channel manager is explained. In this menu you can see the channel list which FTA-Model 725i searched in the left side and in the right side, Current channel information is displayed. Press MENU key on the RCU, then command menu will be displayed TV channel manager has 4 short-cut color keys as below;

PREVIEW OFF You can turn off the picture on the screen 37 6 CHANNEL MANAGER Favorite Channel When you select channel manager, default favorite list will be shown on the screen as Favorite 1. Select your favorite channel and then press OK key. Then will be marked at rear of your selected channel name. And if you want to delete the channel name in the favorite channel list, press OK key once again, then the mark will be disappeared. After the selection of favorite channels press EXIT key and press FAV key to see if each of the favorite groups are properly selected.

How to make favorite group 1. When you enter channel manager, the default favorite group will be shown once on the screen as Favorite 1. 2. In the channel manager page, press FAVORITE 1 ~8 key and select FAVORITE, then Favorite group 1,2,3 will be displayed. After that, select group and cursor channel what you want and press ok key by group. Move channel In the TV channel Manager Page, press Edit key on the RCU and select MOVE in the command box. Select a channel by pressing OK key and move the cursor to the location in which you want to move the selected channel and press OK key. Then, you will find the selected channel has moved to the desired location and channel no. also changed in order accordingly. And check whether changed on the channel list or not. the channel number is 38 7 CHANNEL MANAGER Lock Channel In Main Page, press SORT key on the RCU, and then select Lock on the command menu. This Lock command allows you to lock the channel. First select the channel, which you want to lock, pressing OK key and then will be marked at rear of your selected channel name. Note : To perform this function, you should set up the Parent Lock which is explained after. Rename Channel In Main Page, press Edit key on the RCU, and then select Rename CH on the command menu. This Rename CH command allows you to rename the channel. First select the channel, which you want to lock, pressing OK key and then Keypad Dialog Box will be displayed. Edit your desired name entering word or number.
(If you select , it deletes the previous word) And check whether the channel name is changed on channel list. 39 8 CHANNEL MANAGER Delete channel In Main Page, press Edit key on the RCU, and then select Delete on the command menu. This Delete command allows you to delete the channel permanently. First select the channels, which you want to delete, then selected channel number will be changed to If you cancel the selection, press OK key again, then the number will be back as it was If you decided to delete, press EXIT key and then Message box will be displayed. Press OK to delete. And check whether changed exiting on channel list. the channel number is Warning : The deleted channel can not be recovered unless you search again. Please be careful when you decide to delete channel. Sort Method In Main Page, press SORT key on the RCU, and Sort Method will be displayed. This Sort method has 4 sub commands and it allows you to sort the channels as provided. You can sort the channels by Lock, Scramble, SAT name and CH name. Place the cursor on your desired line, and then press OK key. And check whether the channels are sorted exiting on the channel list. Note : Radio Channel Manager is same operation as TV channel Manager. 40 9 ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE (EPG) FTA-Model 725i provides EPG function for you to get access to the TV Guide (or Radio Guide if you are listening to radio channels) which will give the titles of the current and next programs on different channels. The information is only available from the network the channel you are watching belongs. to which Press EPG key on your RCU or select Program Guide in the Main Page Two different types of EPG available, which is GRID EPG and SCHEDULE EPG

*GRID EPG You can see the channel list in the left side and Program schedule for selected channel will be displayed in the right side. The time will be displayed relating to the program schedule. Select one channel and placing the mark on the time of Program name which detail information you want to know. Then you can see the program details in information box. Note : A No data available message will be shown if the selected channel does not provide EPG date. EEPG FUNCTION will work on DISHNET PACKAGE.
*SCHEDULE EPG If you press Schedule EPG Key on RCU. , then Attention Dialog box will be appeared on the screen. After receiving EPG data, it will move to SCHEDULE EPG page. Then EPG schedule for 2 days will be updated . If you press EEPG key on RUC in SCHEDULE EPG PAGE, Attention Dialog box will be appeared on the screen. Then EPG schedule for 7 days will be updated . 41 1 TIMER The TIMER function allows you program the timer with various ways. This function is one of the strong point of FTA-Model 725i To activate the Turn on time and/or Turn Off the time, Select YES and enter your desired time. Note : The FTA-Model 725i display the time which is given by Satellite, so it may be a some differences between actual time and FTA-Model 725is time. Time Adjust To activate the Turn on time and/or Turn Off the time, select YES and enter your desired time. And you can also select channel which will be turn on or turn off. Note : Easy timer is default for the first time. Time Reservation Time Reservation allows you to program the various timer function. You can set the timer daily, weekly, monthly and yearly 42 2 ANTENNA DIRECTION HELP Although you entered correct value in Antenna Set up menu, if your antenna is positioned incorrectly, you could not receive signal form the Satellite. So FTA-Model 725i provides Antenna Direction Help in order for you to have exact information for the pointing of your antenna. First select your desired Satellite name and then the location of selected satellite will be displayed. In case of that the location of the satellite is changed, you can re-set up the new location. Second, enter the value of Longitude and Latitude of your location. If you entered correct value of your position, place your cursor on Compute and press OK key. Then FTA-Model 725i show the exact information of antenna pointing. 43 3 GAME GAME FTA-Model 725i provides you with three different types of very exciting video games. The video games are simply available at the sub-menu of the main menu Utility. No sound or picture. The satellite dish is not pointing at the satellite. Bad picture / blocking error. No signal or weak signal. The satellite dish is not pointing at the satellite. Signal is too strong. Adjust the dish. Check the signal level in the Antenna Setup menu. Check the cable connections, LNB and other equipment connected between the LNB and the receiver, or adjust the dish. Adjust the dish. Connect a signal attenuator to the LNB input. Satellite dish is too small. Change to a larger dish. LNB noise factor too high. Change to an LNB with lower noise factor. The LNB is faulty. Change the LNB. 46 6 TROUBLE SHOOTING Problem Possible causes What to do No Welcome Menu on the screen after you switched on the FTA-Model 725i for the first time. The system is connected by SCART leads and TV is not in AV/EXT mode. If the system is connected by SCART leads, switch the TV to the appropriate AV input. The system is connected by RF leads. Check the UHF channel fixed in your system and tune the UHF channel properly.. There is interface on your digital satellite channels, an existing terrestrial channel or video signal. leads and The system is connected by RF the output channel of the FTA-Model 725i interferes with an existing terrestrial channels or Video signal. Change the FTA-Model 725i output channel to a more suitable channel, or connect the system by SCART leads. The RCU is not working. Battery exhausted. Change the batteries. RCU is incorrectly aimed. Aim RCU at FTA-Model 725i, or check that nothing blocks the front panel.
