(1) CAT-5 Ethernet patch cable 3 GETTING STARTED Thank you for purchasing Q! If you have used other network equipment before, you will find the installation and operation very simple and easy. 3.1 PRECAUTIONS Please read this manual carefully. It includes basic installation and operating instructions that will help you get optimum performance from your system. Please contact your authorized Levven Controls dealer or retailer for answers to any questions you might have. In addition, all of us at Levven welcome your questions and comments. 3.2 PLACEMENT There must be adequate clearance around the product. Use common sense when placing the product in a cabinet and do not stack other equipment on top. Place the product Levven Controls have a xx-foot (xx-metre) communication range. When deciding the best location for Q, include the distance needed to transmit from outside spaces like the back yard, garage, or patio. For optimum wireless reception, mount your Q vertically on a wall. Installing it flat on a non-metallic rack or shelf will yield a smaller wireless reception range. Ideally, install your Q in a central location in your home near your Internet or home network appliance for example your WiFi router or network switch. 3.3 NOTABLE PRODUCT FEATURES a) Q can connect to your wired home network (Ethernet). b) Q uses simple single-button pairing. Page 4 of 14 Q Operating Instructions Read & Save These Instructions 3.4 FRONT PANEL 3.4.1 LED This LED has 3 colors: red, green, and blue. On startup, the LED flashes blue. When startup is complete, the LED is lit solid green. 3.4.2 BUTTON This button has several functions but is primarily used to group the gateway to your existing Levven Controls device group. 3.4.3 RESET BUTTON This button is recessed behind the plastic enclosure and can only be pressed with a small object such as a paper clip or needle. It 3.5 DC POWER INPUT Qs included AC wall adapter will operate between 90 250 AC line voltage with a line frequency of either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. There is no need to convert or adjust the unit in any way. Page 5 of 14 Q Operating Instructions Read & Save These Instructions 3.6 POWER ON Install the wall adapter DC jack into Qs power port. Install the wall adapter into an AC outlet. 1. 2. 3. Qs LED will flash during power up and light solid green when ready. 3.7 GET THE APP The Levven Controls app is available on the Android Play Store and the Apple App Store. Search each store for Levven Controls. 3.8 CONNECTING TO YOUR HOME NETWORK Simply connect the supplied CAT-5 patch cable from your home network router or network switch to Qs RJ-45 Ethernet port. 4 USING Q 4.1 GROUP CONTROLLERS (IF USING MULTIPLE CONTROLLERS) All controllers in a building or area must be grouped together for smart features to work. Only controllers with no previously saved group can join a group. To begin, press and release the Pair button on one of the controllers in the group (C1). Press and release the Pair button on new controller being added to the group (C2). Press and release the Pair button on the first controller (C1) again to complete the grouping. Page 6 of 14 Q Operating Instructions Read & Save These Instructions 4.2 HOW TO PAIR SWITCHES AND CONTROLLERS TOGETHER Press and release the Pair button on the controller. The LED on the controller will flash green. NOTE: If there is no pairing request received within 60 seconds, the controller will quit the pairing procedure and the LED will return to a solid green indicator. Squeeze then quickly release both ends of the switch. On release, the switch sends a unique pair code to the controller. The controller LED status indicator will flash green/red to confirm receipt. Press Pair on the controller to confirm the pairing. The LED will flash green to indicate success. 4.3 HOW TO RESET THE NETWORK GROUP CONFIGURATION To clear the Qs network group, press and hold the Pair button for 5 seconds. The LED will flash red to indicate the network group information has been cleared. 4.4 CLEAR ALL SETTINGS / FACTORY DEFAULT To clear all settings and return Q to its factory default, first power on Q then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Check the AC wall adapter power connections and the AC outlet. Issue Smartphone App Does Not Connect Fix If the wall adapter is getting AC power, check the CAT-5 patch cable is connected to Qs RJ-45 Ethernet port, and that your home network switch or router is powered. Check that your smartphone is connected to your homes Wi-Fi network. (Levven) warrants that Q you have purchased shall be free of any defects in parts and workmanship if used under normal operating conditions for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, except this warranty shall apply only to the original purchaser. PLEASE RETAIN YOUR SALES RECEIPT, AS IT IS YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE COVERING YOUR LIMITED WARRANTY. THIS WARRANTY IS VOID WITHOUT SUCH PROOF OF PURCHASE. Defective units will be repaired or replaced without charge, at Levvens discretion, with a like or comparable product by the Dealer if presented with proof of purchase to the Authorized Levven Audio Dealer from whom Q was purchased.
