1 v-Hub 1 AC Power Adaptor (for v-Hub) 1 Ethernet Cable (for v-Hub) 2 Valta Sockets Section 3.2: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Please read the following safety and operating instructions before using the product and retain for future reference. For v-Hub WARNING: Use only indoors and in dry locations. Do not use this equipment (v-Hub) and all related accessories near or under water, for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, under the rain, aquariums, do not plunge any parts in water or any other liquid. Use only indoors and in dry locations. SAFETY IMPORTANT: When using Valta v-Hub device, basic safety precaution should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, damage to equipment, loss of property, server injury to persons or even loss of life, including the following:
Avoid using this product during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lighting. Use only the Power Adapter supplied with the package, if necessary order a new replacement AC power adapter from Valta or authorized retailers using Owner Operating Manual, Vers 12/2013 US/ Can Page 1 of 10 the original model number. Do not insert the AC power adaptor into an extension cord, receptacle or outlet unless the prongs can be fully inserted, failure to do so may cause electric shock or excessive heat resulting in a fire. Plug AC power adaptor directly to a proper grounded wall outlet. Do not overload power outlet and extensions cords, otherwise it can result in fire or serious electrical shock. To prevent overheating, situate the product away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other fixtures, appliances and products that produce heat. Unplug with caution the product from power outlets if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell or make unusual noise. There conditions may cause fire or electrical shock. Do not remote the cover or disassemble any components of this product. This product contains no user-serviceable parts. Unplug the product from the power outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or if aerosol cleaners, use a damp cloth or a microfiber cloth for cleaning. This product should never be placed near or over radiator or heat register, nor in any area where proper ventilation is not provided. Do not allow anything to rest on the v-Hub device, its power cord, or power adapter. Do not install the product where its power cord may be walked or stumbled on. Unplug the power from power outlet if the power adapter cord or power adapter prongs are damaged or frayed, if liquid has been spilled onto the product, if the product has been exposed to rain, water or any other liquid, if the internal components of the v-Hub or it power adapter are exposed. The power supply adapter is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position, the prongs are not designed to hold the power adapter in place if it is plugged upside down, for example do not use facing down outlets on a ceiling, under a table or in a cabinet. The equipment and accessories must be operated only for its intended use and not for any other purposes. For Valta Socket Owner Operating Manual, Vers 12/2013 US/ Can Page 2 of 10 Warning: Power Sources DO NOT plug your Valta Socket into a power outlet that differs from the source indicated for safe use on the Valta Socket. If you are uncertain of the type of electrical power supplied to your home, please consult your local power company. Warning: Earthing and Polarization Your Valta Socket has a three-wire earthing-type AC plug (a three-prong plug). This Socket is designed to be inserted into an earthing-type outlet only and will fit into the power outlet only ONE way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to plug your Valta Socket directly and/or fully into your wall outlet, DO NOT attempt to force it in. NEVER attempt to dismantle the Socket in any way (or to alter an extension cord) to make it fit into a two-prong wall socket. DO NOT attempt to defect the safety purpose of the earthing feature by using a three to two prong adapter. Instead, contact a local licensed electrician to install the proper polarized wall outlet. If you are not sure if your homes electrical wiring has proper earthing, please have it checked by a qualified/licensed electrician. Warning: Power Adaptor Safety When routing the AC power adaptor of the v-Hub, DO NOT place it near heavy foot traffic areas or pinched by items placed upon or against them. If your AC adaptors tip head and/or protective jacket begins to rip or frag, exposing the internal wiring, shielding, etc,. disconnect it from the power source and discontinue use of the AC adaptor immediately. See the Warranty Information section of this owners manual for important details. Warning: Liquid, Rain and Moisture: Avoiding Electric Shock DO NOT operate your Valta Socket near rain or water thats spilled or contained (e.g. bathtub, water bowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, Sauna room, in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool and the like). NEVER spill liquid of any kind on the Socket. DO NOT operate your Valta Socket if liquid of any kind is spilled onto or inside the unit. Warning: Object Entry: Avoiding Fire or Electric Shock NEVER PUSH objects of any kind into your Valta Socket through openings
(three-prong switch outlet) as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Warning: Overloading DO NOT overload wall outlets or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. Warning: NO User Serviceable Part inside If, for any reason, your Valta Socket is not operating properly, DO NOT attempt to remove any parts of the unit (covers, etc) to repair as you may be exposed to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Warning: Expose to Heat DO NOT expose your Valta Socket to direct sunlight or place it near wall heaters, radiators, heat registers, stoves, space heaters, or any enclosed space prone to temperature increase. Warning: Storm Precautions In the event of lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, you should unplug your Valta Socket from the wall outlet. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges. Warning: Use only indoors and in dry locations. Do not use Valta Socket near or under water, for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, under the rain, aquariums, do not plunge any parts in water or any other liquid. Use only indoors and in dry locations. CAUTION: Attachments DO NOT use attachments such as power strips and socket splitters as they may cause hazards. CAUTION: Proper Cleaning In general, the only cleaning necessary for your Valta Socket is a light dusting. Unplug your Socket from the wall outlet before cleaning. DO NOT use any type of liquid or aerosol cleaners. CAUTION: Damage Requiring Repair STOP using your Valta Socket and unplug it from the wall outlet immediately when you encounter one or more of the conditions below:
When the Socket is damaged Owner Operating Manual, Vers 12/2013 US/ Can Page 5 of 10 If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product If the product has been exposed to rain or water If the product does not operate properly by following the operating instructions If the product has been damaged in any way When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance this indicates a need for repair. IMPORTANT NOTES: Safety Instructions The operating voltage is limited. Maximum operating voltage is 120Vac. DO NOT use the unit with other operating voltages. The maximum output current is 15A. To reduce the risk of electric shock, DO NOT removes cover. Section 3.3: v-Hub Specifications 1. LED indicator/Blue LED: Indicates the v-Hub is currently online and working properly. 2.
