RouterBOARD 91x series Quick Setup Guide and Warranty Information RB91x is a RouterBOARD with a built-in 802.11n wireless device and one Ethernet port. Several models are available with 5GHz or 2GHz wireless. First use Connect antenna cables to the built in Wi-Fi connectors Device accepts 8-30V with a passive PoE powered Ethernet cable or with a power connector to the Power Jack Powering The board accepts power with the following modes:
With PoE to Ether1 port. It accepts 8-30V DC input (at the board; higher voltage needed to compensate for power loss on long cables; at least 18V suggested) from non-standard (passive) Power over Ethernet injectors (no power over data lines). The board does not work with IEEE802.3af compliant 48V power injectors. Direct input to the power jack 8-30V (select models only) Booting process RouterOS is the operating system of all RouterBOARD routers. Please see detailed configuration guide here:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Category:Manual#list This device doesn't come fitted with a Serial Port connector, so initial connection has to be done via the Ethernet cable, using the MikroTik Winbox utility. Winbox should be used to connect to the default IP address of 192.168.88.1 with the username admin and no password. In case you wish to boot the device from network, for example to use MikroTik Netinstall, hold the RESET button of the de-
vice when starting it until the LED light turns off, and Groove will start to look for Netinstall servers. In case IP connection is not available, Winbox can also be used to connect to the MAC address of the device. More infor-
mation here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/First_time_startup Extension Slots and Ports One Gigabit Ethernet port (With Auto MDI/X so you can use either straight or cross-over cables for connecting to other network devices). The Ethernet port accepts 8-30V DC powering from a passive PoE injector. Built-in 802.11b/g/n WiFi card (AR9342) with one or two MMCX connectors Only RB912UAG-2/5HPnD: miniPCI-e slot for either a 802.11 Wireless card, or a 3G modem (when a 3G modem is used in miniPCIe slot, USB port will become inactive. In RouterOS you can select which of the 3G modems you want to use, USB or miniPCIe). SIM slot is available for miniPCIe 3G cards. Only RB912UAG-2/5HPnD: USB 2.0 port Buttons and Jumpers RouterOS reset jumper hole (Reset2 in above image) resets RouterOS software to defaults. Must short circuit the metallic sides of the hole (with a screwdriver, for example) and boot the device. Hold screwdriver in place until RouterOS configuration is cleared. Reset button (Reset1 in above image) Holding this button during boot time will make the RouterBOARD look for Netinstall servers. Release the button after the LED light goes out. )3;?;()00 NetMetal series Quick Setup Guide and Warranty Information The NetMetal is a solid and waterproof outdoor device based on the RB92x wireless router model. It has high power wireless, and one Gigabit Ethernet connector, which support MDI-X auto detection. The device has two or three RP-SMA connectors for connecting external antennas (depends on model). The device is packaged with a 24V power adapter, a PoE injector and two mounting loops. There are four models available two Three-chain devices (with miniPCIe slot and without), and two Dual-chain models (with miniPCIe slot and without). Extra places for more RP-SMA connectors are available on the unit in this case. First use 1. Remove the lid, and connect the antenna to the RP-SMA connectors. Bend the cable with a large radius, so that it will be able to exit through the cable openings in the bottom of the lid. Put the lid back 2. Open the product bottom door, to reveal the Ethernet connector 3. The device accepts 12-28V Passive PoE from a PoE injector (please compensate voltage for loss due to cable length) 4. The default IP address from Ether1 is 192.168.88.1 for configuration 5. Depending on the antenna used, you must set its gain in the RouterOS software to ensure that EIRP meets the limit Username is admin and there is no password set by authorities. This is done in the Wireless menu. Powering The board accepts powering from the Ethernet port (Passive PoE):
Ethernet port accepts passive Power over Ethernet 12-28V DC. Package contains a 24V adapter and a PoE injector. Maximum power consumption of the device is 23W at 24V. Booting process Connect to wireless SSID MikroTik and open 192.168.88.1 in your web browser. Username is admin and there is no password. In case IP connection is not available, Winbox can be used to connect to the MAC address of the device. In case your SSID is password protected, use the serial number as the wireless password. More information here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/First_time_startup In case you wish to boot the device from network, for example to use MikroTik Netinstall, hold the RESET button of the device when starting it until the LED light turns off, and Metal will start to look for Netinstall servers. Mounting To tighten the device to a pole, use the provided metal hose clamp. Guide the loop around the device through the provided holes, and around the pole where it will be mounted. You should avoid connecting a loose Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port - secure the cable to a wall or the pole, so that the cable weight is not pulling the port. It is recommended to secure the Ethernet cable less than 2m from the device. This is to ensure that the cable doesn't damage the port by its weight, or doesn't fall out. It is possible to connect grounding wires to the PCB board mounting holes, but to do this, you must remove the PCB from the case. Expansion Slots and Ports Built in 5GHz 802.11ac wireless, AP/station/bridge modes supported One 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port, supporting automatic cross/straight cable correction (Auto MDI/X), so you can use either straight or crossover cable for connecting to other network devices. The Ethernet port accepts 8-30V DC powering from a passive PoE injector. See www.routerboard.com for more information. Contact support@mikrotik.com for support questions. 19-May-16 Buttons and Jumpers RouterOS reset jumper hole (no direct access, board has to be removed from case) resets RouterOS software to defaults. Must short circuit the metallic sides of the hole (with a screwdriver, for example) and boot the device. Hold screwdriver in place until RouterOS configuration is cleared. RouterBOOT reset button (access through the door) has two functions:
o Hold this button during boot time until LED light starts flashing, release the button to reset RouterOS configuration (same result as with reset hole) o Hold this button during boot time longer, until LED turns off, then release it to make the device look for Netinstall servers.
