Get a fully charged ION wristband (see Page 7 for Charging Instructions) and make sure the LED is flashing BLUE once every 5 seconds (indicating Bluetooth pairing mode). 2. Fully charged WARNINGS The ION wristband contains a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Rechargeable lithium ion batteries are potentially hazardous and present a if damaged, defective or improperly used. A healthy battery should only get slightly warm during charging. If the battery becomes hot, smokes, or gives off an odor during charging, terminate charging immediately and contact Milo Sensors. ION wristband should be kept charging at all times when not in use. fire hazard Wristband battery life Not currently active Not currently active DISPOSABLE CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLY & EXCHANGE 1. Insert an ION disposable cartridge into the ION wristband by aligning the metal pads of the cartridge with the magnetic strips in the wristband. Ensure that the cartridge is pressed all the way in the wristband. Avoid pressing directly on the thin membrane of the cartridge with your fingers. Use provided ION charger only to charge the wristband. 7 7. The home page will be displayed. 4 2. Remove the white protective paper from the bioadhesive. Discard. 3. Attach ION wristband with disposable cartridge to your wrist and adjust the strap until the wristband is snug against the skin. 4. To remove a spent cartridge, remove the wristband from your wrist, and pull out the cartridge. WRISTBAND EXCHANGE After wearing the ION wristband with a disposable cartridge for 24 hours, follow these steps to exchange the wristband (in addition, see Page 5 for ION disposable cartridge exchange):
1. Remove the ION wristband from the wrist. 2. End the ION Participant app v1.0 on the iPhone by double-
clicking the home button and swiping the app up. 3. Remove a fully charged ION wristband from the charger. 5 4. Attach the previously worn ION wristband to the charger. Ensure that this wristband LED flashes turquoise for 5 seconds, and then the LED turns red (indicating charging). 5. Follow Steps 2 - 7 in the Pairing Wristband instructions. 6. Follow Steps 1 - 3 in the Disposable Cartridge - Assembly &
Exchange instructions. STORAGE & USE Store the ION disposable cartridges in a refrigerator at 0 -
10 C when not in use (do not store below 0 C). When maintained at this temperature, they have a shelf-life of up to five days. The ION disposable cartridges have an operating lifetime of up to 24 hours. After 24 hours of use in an ION wristband, return the disposable cartridge to Milo Sensors. CHARGING WRISTBAND Note: The ION wristband should be fully charged before each use. Disconnect charger from wristband before pairing with iPhone. 1. Connect the ION charger to a wall outlet (120 V, 60 Hz). Note: do not attach charger to computer. 2. 11 Keep ION wristband and disposable cartridges away from liquids. They are not waterproof/ water resistant. The ION wristband is designed to be used in a temperature range of 50-86 F (10-30 C). Avoid using substances that contain methyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol or acetone while wearing the ION wristband. These substances may interfere with the ION wristband. Do not use the ION wristband or ION Participant app v1.0 as a tool to determine whether you should operate a motor vehicle or equipment, or perform any other dangerous act. If the ION wristband is out of Bluetooth range of the smartphone, a notification will be sent (connection is re-
established automatically with a notification). 8 TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Solution When I click the Bluetooth Icon to pair to the ION wristband, there is no device available to connect to?
1. Make sure that the wristband is fully charged. 2. Make sure that the wristband LED is flashing blue once every 5 seconds
(indicating it is in pairing mode). If the LED not flashing blue, attach the charger (connected to an outlet) to the wristband. Wait until the LED stops flashing turquoise, then remove the charger. The LED should now be flashing blue once every 5 seconds. The LED of the ION wristband is still solid red (or solid blue or green) when I remove the wristband from the charger?
Reattach the charger (connected to an outlet) to the wristband and wait until the LED stops flashing turquoise. Then remove the charger. DISCLAIMER This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. When I put the ION wristband on the charger, the LED continually flashes turquoise, but does not turn red?
9 1. If a wristband was previously paired, make sure that the wristband is in range of the smartphone running the app. When brought into range again, the wristband will automatically pair again. 2. Follow the Pairing Wristband instructions (page 2) to connect to an ION wristband. Remove the wristband from the charger. End the ION Participant app v1.0 on the iPhone by double-clicking the home button and swiping the app up. Reconnect the wristband to the charger.
