Note: Top-off your battery charge if it is not charged to 100%
when first powered on. To turn off your device, press and hold the Power button, then select Power off OK. Getting Started: Using the Touch Screen Note: For optimal use of the touch screen, remove the screen protection film before using your device. Lock or unlock the touch screen When first powering on or after not being used for a specified period the device will go to sleep and lock (touch screen will be turned off to prevent unintended operations). To lock the touch screen, manually press the Power button. To unlock the touch screen, turn on the screen by pressing the Power button, then press the lock icon and drag it to the right. To manage screen lock preferences go to Settings Security Screen Security Screen lock 6 Getting Started: Using the Touch Screen (continued) Touch Screen Control Your device is equipped with a multi-touch display allowing you to perform multiple finger gestures, such as pinching the screen for zooming out, or spreading the screen for zooming in. Pressing Pressing the touch screen allows you to select a desired item or activate an application. Long pressing Long-pressing, or holding, an application allows you to drag and drop the application to another Home screen or to remove it from the screen. *Holding your finger on an application icon causes the icon to pop up slightly allowing you to drag it. Pinching Pinch or spread two fingers to zoom in or out of images on screen in Gallery, Maps, or Places. Swiping Use one finger to swipe back and forth between Home screens, through different images in the Gallery, or pages in open applications. To avoid scratching the touch screen, do not tap it with sharp objects. Note:

Getting to Know the Home Screen Once the device has been turned on and the touch screen unlocked, you will see the Home screen. From the Home screen you can view your devices status and access applications. The Home screen has multiple panels that can be used to organize your programs and appli-
cations. Swipe left or right to view other panels. See Pg 12 for more information on Home screen applications. To access Notifications, open the Notifications menu by touching and swiping your finger up on the right side of the Status bar. Select a Notification from the menu to view update information. Quick Settings Touch the right side of the Status Bar and swipe your finger up, then press the settings icon to open the Quick Settings menu. From here you can view and quickly change system settings displayed on the menu (e.g. turn on/off Notifications, adjust screen brightness, etc.). 9 Getting Started: Access Applications On the Home screen press the Applications icon Applications menu. to open the Manage Applications Open Press any application icon to launch the application. Grab Long-press any icon in the Applications menu to drag it to the Home screen. Move Long-press any icon on the Home screen to drag and place it anywhere on the screen. Drag icons to other tablet screens by long-pressing the icon and dragging it to the left or right of the Home screen until you see a new screen appear. When you reach the desired screen let go of the icon to set it on that screen. Delete On the Home Screen, Long-press the application icon you wish to remove, drag it to X Remove at the top of the screen, and release your finger to delete it. (this only deletes the icon from the screen, it does not remove the application from your system) Uninstall In the Applications menu, long-press the application you wish to completely remove from your system and drag it to Uninstall at the top of the screen. (some applications are part of the Android system and cannot be uninstalled). Download Press the Google Play Store application to search and download Android applications for your device.
*You must sign in to Google or create a Google account to access the Play Store and to use applications that interact with the Google server. 10 Getting Started: Customize Your Device Wallpaper To change the Wallpaper, press and hold your finger on the Home screen to bring up the Wallpaper dialog box. Choose Wallpaper from available options. Settings Press the Settings icon Settings menu and customize your device. to enter the Gently press your finger on the Settings list and move it up or down to scroll through Settings options. Change the display language 1. Go to Settings Language & Input Language 2. Select a language Adjust the devices volume 1. Go to Settings Sound Volumes 2. Drag the sliders to adjust the volume lever for each sound. 3. You can also adjust the volume by pressing and holding the Adjust the brightness of the display 1. Go to Settings Display Brightness 2. Drag the slider to the adjust the screen brightness. Turn on Wi-Fi 1. Go to Settings Wi-Fi 2. Press On/Off bar to turn Wi-Fi on or off. Volume up and Volume down buttons on the tablet case (see Pg 5 for button locations). 11 Tools and Applications: Email To set up or sign up for a Gmail account open the Gmail application on the Home screen, choose Existing if you already have a Gmail account or New to create a new account and follow the instructions on the screen to complete set up. To set up a personal or company email account open the Email application in the Applications menu, enter the email address and password for the email account you wish to add and follow the instructions on the screen to complete set up. You can reorganize the applications on the screen to match your preferences, move applications to other Home screen panels, add new application icons from the Applications menu, or Download applications from the Internet to enhance your devices functionality. Battery Management During charging the device will be powered on (the system will power on even when charging begins from a powered down state). When charging while the device is in use the battery icon will have a white lightening bolt in the center. When fully charged the battery icon will turn solid blue. Disconnect the power charger from the device when the device is fully charged. To maintain optimum battery life, wait until the battery is low before charging. Note:
When the battery is very low the system will show an alert and automatically shut down when the battery charge has completely run down. If your tablet shuts down due to a low battery, connect the adaptor to recharge. You can continue to use the device while it is charging, but charging time will be longer due to battery drain while the system is working. 13 Operational Tips Toggle Between Open Applications Press to display the list of active applications and select the application you wish to access. By doing this you can toggle between active applications without going back to the Home screen and/or closing the application that you are using. End Application Operation Press to display the list of active applications. Press and hold your finger on any application to open a drop down menu. Select Remove from list to end the operation of the application. You can also lightly touch an application on the list and swipe your finger to the left to remove it. Locating a Downloaded File Press to access the Applications menu then press Downloads to see downloaded files. The system automatically shuts down or powers off quickly after Startup. There is no response from the Power button or other operation buttons. Do not suddenly turn off or disconnect the tablet from the power adaptor when formatting, uploading or downloading files as this could cause data loss and application or system errors. Do not disassemble the device. Do not use alcohol, paint thinner or benzene to clean the device. Do not use the device in places where the use of electronic devices is prohibited. Comply with any restrictions placed on the use of wireless equipment. The performance of the wireless reception of the device could be influenced by the wireless equipment and networks.
