It provides the function of a base station, simultaneously charging and performing data synchronisation for up to 8 Earplugs. Feature summary Charging of Earplug(s) Wall or desk mountable Data synchronisation with Minuendo Smart Alert digital service (cloud) through WiFi LED status indications for connected Earplugs and Dock Status Single main power inlet. Status reporting for automated offline notifications (when registered to an active Cloud Account) Automatic Firmware updates (when connected to server via WiFi). 6 Safety Information Please read and follow all safety information contained with these instructions before first use of the Smart Alert docks. Retain these instructions for future reference. Warning:
Ensure that mains power lead is connected to the Dock before connecting with the mains power socket. Ensure that the mains socket is off before connecting the mains power lead. Do not remove the back panel while the Dock is connected to mains power. Do not rely on the mains socket on/off switch. Remove plug from socket. Any repair or serving of the Dock should be performed by Authorised personnel only. Ensure the Dock is mounted so that no foreign objects can fall into the Earplug stations. Mount and use the Dock indoors only. The Dock should not be used in environments that are considered flammable or explosive atmospheres. The Dock contains electrical components that may cause ignition. Do not use it in environments where sparks may cause fire or explosion. The Dock should not be used where there is a risk that the Dock could impede an exit or escape route. The Earplug should be fully dry before connecting with the Dock. Do not place any object into the Earplug stations other than the Earplug. Caution:
When using the Dock on a desk, ensure that the mains power lead does not cause a trip hazard. Ensure that the Dock is suitably secured to the wall or desk so that it cannot be knocked off. Ensure that the mains power lead is regularly inspected for serviceability. The Dock should not be used for more than 5 years from the date of manufacture stated on the packaging. Do not remove Earplugs from the Dock by pulling on the Earplug cables Do not remove the Earplug from the Dock by pulling on the centre of the Collar Unit. Extract the earplug by gently pulling the Earplug holding the right hand side pulling in an upward rotational movement. Do not pull directly away from the Dock. Ensure that the Right hand side of the earplug Collar Unit (with the 4 electrical pins) and LED is inserted into the Dock. If the Earplug becomes stuck in the Dock station do not use force to remove the Earplug. Consult with the distributor or supplier for technical support. 7 Pairing to WiFi Network Using Standard WiFi Mode 1) Ensure Dock is in WiFi Pairing mode (Dock LED Blinking BLUE) 2) On a mobile phone. If on repeated attempts your Dock and WiFI does not connect consult your dealer for technical support or your IT department. 9 Advisory With the Dock in the approximate position where it will be wall mounted, pair with Router and confirm Dock Status (Dock LED Ref Fig 1-E) is solid GREEN, before mounting to the wall. Check the signal strength of the planned WiFi router using a mobile phone. If low signal strength for that WiFi network either:
(a) reposition the Dock to a location with stronger WiFi signal or
(b) Select an alternative network if available Avoiding mounting the Dock on metal surfaces or close to other devices that might impact WiFi connectivity; such as in close proximity to Microwave ovens, TVs or radio transmission equipment such as two-way radios. Consult with your IT service team for the appropriate mechanism to use for Dock pairing such PEAP. The Dock will connect with WiFi networks working on 2.4GHz only. It will not pair with 5.0GHz networks. Wall Mounting Instructions Wall mounting is recommended. The height of the Dock when mounted should be set so the mains power lead reaches a mains socket safely and the Dock is at a comfortable height so that all users are able to reach the Earplug without stretching. The maximum height from the floor at which the Dock should mounted is 1.6 metres. Measured to the upper (top) edge of the Dock. The Dock should mounted such the top of the Dock is level. Level Fig. 2 - Mounting Level It is recommended that the Dock is mounted to a wall in a suitable location close to where users would normally put on, take off, and store their Personal Protective Equipment. 10 Wall Fixings The Dock should be mounted using all 4 holes and fixings that are appropriate to the construction type of the wall. As wall materials vary, screws and fixings are not included. For advice on suitable screw systems, contact your local specialised dealer. Maximum diameter head: 3.9 mm / 5/32 inch Check the construction of the wall to which the Dock will be mounted. Pay special attention to identify any services that may be within the wall or below the surface. If in doubt consult a builder to perform a site survey to identify the type and location of any hazards. The hole for the fixing should be performed by a competent person using the appropriate tools and personal protective equipment. The hole dimensions in the Dock are 3.9 mm / 0.153 inch.
