Ethernet jack. The jack is used to connect the phone to the network, as well as provide power to the phone. two Extension Microphone jacks. You can connect up to two extension microphones to ensure better coverage of the larger premises. The connection jacks are located on the back of the phone. Network and Power Connection The Mitel 6970 Conference Phone functions within the 802.3af Power Over Ethernet (PoE) power limit. If your Ethernet Network does not supply PoE power, an optional PoE Power Adapter must be used to provide PoE power to the Mitel 6970 Conference Phone. Connecting to the Network and to Power If your network provides 802.3af compliant inline power, the phone is powered through the network. 1. Connect a LAN/Ethernet cable into the network port marked with at the back of the phone (See Figure
). 2. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable directly into the network jack on the wall. If your Local Area Network does not supply PoE power, you must purchase an optional PoE Power Adapter to supply PoE power to the Mitel 6970 Conference Phone. NOTE: This product is designed for indoor use only and for ambient temperatures at or below 40 C (104 F). NOTE: The phone must be connected only to indoor routed PoE or Ethernet wiring.
