M O T O R O L A W H O L E H O M E W I F I Quick Start Included in the Package Motorola Satellite Motorola Router Power Supply Ethernet Cable Lets get started Download the MotoManage app from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and follow the instructions to install your devices. The app will have you scan the QR code on the units and automatically configure the units for you. Positioning the units around your home When placing the unit labelled satellite, you should try and position it halfway between the router and the area you want to provide WiFi coverage. Note that the satellite must be within range of your routers WiFi signal in order to sync with the router. The satellite will power up and attempt to sync with the router. While attempting to sync the Motorola logo will blink blue. If it continues to blink blue after a couple minutes your satellite is out of range, you must move the satellite closer to the router. After the satellite syncs with the router the Motorola logo will turn either green or amber. If the logo turns green, congratulations, the connection between the router and the satellite is good. If the logo turns amber, the connection to the router is weak. We recommend moving the satellite closer to the router to improve the signal. Wireless Router The MH7021 has a unique Wireless Network Name/SSID and Wireless Security Key/Password printed on the MH7021 back label. Set up your wireless devices to work with this SSID and security key, or with the SSID and security key you specified, if you changed them. Note that wireless performance depends on a number of factors. Please keep these things in mind:
Try to avoid interference from Bluetooth headsets and stereos, microwave ovens, WiFi-capable printers, and 2.4 GHz cordless phones and base stations. Try not to put the MH7021 close to these interfering devices. Wireless range can be limited by a variety of issues, including weak wireless clients and challenging building configurations. Front Panel Light The Motorola Logo will change colors to indicate the status COLOR DESCRIPTION Solid Green Connected with a strong signal Blinking Green Unit is powering up. Blinking Blue Unit is trying to pair with another device. Solid Amber Connected with a weak signal. Blinking Amber WPS is active and in discovery mode. Troubleshooting Tips What if I cant make an Internet connection right after installation?
First turn off the modem that provides your Internet connection for at least 8 seconds, then on, to see if that fixes the problem. Check that the MH7021s power supply is plugged into a live outlet, and that the Ethernet cable is connected securely. What if I am connected wirelessly but my connection seems slow or keeps dropping?
Please re-read the Wireless Router section above. What if I dont know my MH7021s Wireless Network Name/SSID or Security Key/Password?
The default values are printed on the bottom label of the MH7021. Use these unless you changed them. If you changed them, try to remember where you put the new values. If you have a device that connects wirelessly to the MH7021, it may show the Wireless Network Name/SSID and Password. You can also find this information in the MH7021 Configuration Manager. Information about using this is in the Configuration Manager section above. If all else fails, reset the device to factory defaults by holding the Reset button depressed for 10 seconds. (A paperclip helps.) You can then use the default values. Do you have any other questions? We have lots more information at www.motorolanetwork.com/mentor We like to help.
