For the SN8000 module, the on-board antenna has been qualified and approved for use under the MA certification. The SN8000UFL module has also been qualified and approved WITH THE STATED ANTENNA ONLY (see Industry Canada section for the specific antenna). NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can re-radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with these instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/ TV technician for help. This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. ANY CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS NOT EXPRESSLY APPROVED BY THE PARTY RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLIANCE COULD VOID THE USERS AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT Page 4 of 7 SN8200 and 8200 UFL Regulatory Certification v1.0 1.1.2 INDUSTRY CANADA This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and
(2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power (E.I.R.P.) is not more than that permitted for successful communication. The SN8000UFL device has been designed and certified to operate with the antenna listed below, having a maximum gain of 5 dBi. Antennas not included in this list or having a gain greater than 5 dBi are strictly prohibited for use with this device. The required antenna impedance is 50 ohms.
Antenna:

For an intentional or unintentional radiator, the OEM product guide should caution that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the users authority to operate the equipment. The OEM should not provide information to the end user that allows modification or change of RF characteristics of the end product. Also, the following conditions apply:
1. This device is granted for use in mobile only configurations in which the antennas used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a) a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and b) not be co-located with any other transmitters except in accordance with FCC and Industry Canada multi-transmitter product regulations. 2. Given the above two conditions and modular approval, further transmitter testing is not required. However, the OEM is still responsible for end product testing for any other compliance requirements
Toutefois, l'OEM est toujours responsable des essais du produit final pour toutes les autres exigences de conformit (par exemple radiateurs involontaires, etc) Page 6 of 7 SN8200 and 8200 UFL Regulatory Certification v1.0 1.1.4 OEM PRODUCT LABELING REQUIREMENTS The SN8000 and SN8000UFL modules factory labeled with the proper regulatory certification information including the FCC ID and the Industry Canada ID. The OEM should display a label referring to the enclosed module inside the end product. The end product should be labeled in a visible area as follows:
Contains FCC ID: QPU8000 Contains IC ID: 4523A-SN8000 CAUTION to utilize the above grants with the SN8000UFL module, the stated, approved antenna must be used (Microchip Technology TRF1002, 5 dBi). ALTERNATIVELY, the same type of antenna having a gain LOWER than 5 dBi may be used.
