1 Insert the small connector on the end of the AC power adapter into the DC IN jack on the back of your boombox. USB DC IN 9V AUX IN 2 Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a power outlet. Cautions To protect your boombox during thunderstorms, unplug the AC power adapter from the AC power outlet. Only use the supplied AC power adapter. 1 Turn your boombox over so the bottom is facing up, then press down on the OPEN and slide the battery compartment cover off the battery compartment. 2 Insert six type C batteries (no included) into the battery compartment. Make sure that the + and symbols on the batteries align with the +

Set your boombox upright. Cautions Use only type C batteries. Make sure that you insert the batteries correctly. If you insert the batteries incorrectly, your boombox may be damaged. Do not heat, open, or short-circuit batteries. Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not mix different types of batteries together (for example, alkaline, rechargeable, or carbon zinc). Do not mix old and new batteries. AMAM radio band FMFM radio band CDCD player AUXDevice connected to the AUX jack. Paired Bluetooth device Selecting the sound mode You can select a sound (equalizer) mode to automatically adjust the sound for the type music you are playing. To select the sound mode:
Press the Sound button one or more times until the sound mode you want appears on the LCD. You can select JAZZ, POP, CLASSIC, ROCK, or FLAT. Using a Bluetooth device Pairing with a Bluetooth device To pair with a Bluetooth device:
1 On your boombox, press the Source button one or more times until the indicator appears of the LCD. 2 Make sure that your Bluetooth device is turned on and within 33 feet
(10 meters) of your boombox. 3 On your boombox, press the boombox enters pairing mode, and the Bluetooth LED blinks. Your boombox remains in pairing mode for 30 minutes or until it pairs with a Bluetooth device.

Note Your boombox can store pairing information for eight devices. When your boombox is in Bluetooth mode, it automatically reconnects to the last paired device when the device is turned on, in Bluetooth mode, and within 33 feet (10 meters) of your boombox. If you want to reconnect with another previously paired device, make sure the device is within range, turn it on, and put it in pairing mode. Then press the
(Bluetooth pairing) button. Your boombox searches for the pairing information and pairs with the device. Playing audio from a Bluetooth device To play audio from a Bluetooth device:
1 On your boombox, press the Source button one or more times until the indicator appears on the LCD. 2 Make sure that the Bluetooth device has been paired to your boombox. See Pairing with a Bluetooth device on page 12. 3 To control playback from the Bluetooth device, on your boombox:

(play/pause) button to start or pause playback. Your boombox plays the audio files on the Bluetooth device. Rotate the volume control knob to increase or decrease the volume. Press the Tune +/

1 While CD is playing, press the Play Mode/Preset button three times. RANDOM appears on the LCD, and your boombox plays the CDs tracks in random order. 2 To cancel random mode, press the Play Mode/Preset button one or more times until RANDOM disappears from the LCD. Playing audio from a connected audio device To play audio from a connected audio device:
1 Make sure that your boombox is turned off. 2 Plug one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not provided) into the AUX In jack on the back of your boombox and to the audio out or line out jack on the audio device. USB DC IN 9V AUX IN 3 Press the
(power) button to turn on your boombox, then press the Source button one or more times until AUX appears on the LCD. 4 Adjust the volume using the volume knob on your boombox. Note You can also use the volume controls on the device to adjust the volume, but the volume knob on the boombox provides the best control. 5 Use the controls on the audio device to control playback. www.insigniaproducts.com 17 NS-BBTCD01_14-1152_MAN_V4_ENG.fm Page 18 Tuesday, October 28, 2014 8:31 AM Troubleshooting CD Boombox with Bluetooth Caution Do not try to repair your boombox yourself. Doing so invalidates the warranty. General Problem No sound Radio Problem There is noise or static when playing the radio CD player Problem CD will not play Possible cause The volume control may be set too low. The wrong audio source may be selected. The boombox may not be turned on. The AC power adapter may not be connected or may be connected incorrectly. The batteries may be dead. Possible solution Rotate the volume control knob to increase the volume. Press the Source button until you see the correct indicator on the LCD. See Selecting the audio source on page 12. Press the
(power) button to turn on your boombox. Make sure that the AC power adapter is connected securely and correctly to your boombox and the power outlet. See Connecting the AC power adapter on page 9. Replace the batteries. See Installing batteries on page 10. Possible cause The FM antenna is not fully extended or needs to be repositioned. Your boombox is not positioned correctly for AM band reception. The station signal may be weak. Possible solution Fully extend the FM antenna and adjust its position to get the best reception. Move your boombox around to get the best reception. Try another station. Possible cause The CD may be inserted incorrectly. The CD may be dirty. The CD may be damaged. Possible solution Insert the CD with the label facing up. Clean the CD. See Cleaning CDs on page 20. Try another CD. 18 www.insigniaproducts.com NS-BBTCD01_14-1152_MAN_V4_ENG.fm Page 19 Tuesday, October 28, 2014 8:31 AM CD Boombox with Bluetooth Problem CD skips while playing Possible cause You are moving your boombox. The CD may be dirty. The CD may be damaged. Possible solution Do not move your boombox while a CD is playing. The CD player should only be used on a flat, steady surface. Clean the CD. See Cleaning CDs on page 20. Try another CD. Bluetooth device The boombox can stream music from paired Bluetooth devices like smartness, notebooks, and audio devices. Problem Boombox will not start pairing mode Boombox is in pairing mode, but does not pair with the Bluetooth device Boombox was paired to the Bluetooth device, but will not re-pair Possible cause Bluetooth is not selected as the audio source. The Bluetooth device may not be turned on. You have not selected your boombox on the Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth device is too far away from your boombox. The Bluetooth device does not use a supported Bluetooth protocol. You have not selected your boombox on the Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth device is too far away from your boombox. Possible solution Press the Source button one or more times until BT appears on the LCD, then press the Make sure that the Bluetooth device is turned on.
(Bluetooth pairing) button. Make sure that the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode, then select NS-CBBTCD01-B on the Bluetooth device. See the instructions that came with the Bluetooth device. Move the Bluetooth device within 33 feet (10 m) of your boombox. Your boombox supports the A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth protocols. Make sure that the Bluetooth device you are trying to connect uses one of these protocols. When a Bluetooth device disconnects from your boombox, you have to re-select your boombox to re-pair to the Bluetooth device. Make sure that the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode, then select NS-CBBTCD01-B on the Bluetooth device. See the instructions that came with the Bluetooth device. Move the Bluetooth device within 33 feet (10 m) of your boombox. www.insigniaproducts.com 19 NS-BBTCD01_14-1152_MAN_V4_ENG.fm Page 20 Tuesday, October 28, 2014 8:31 AM CD Boombox with Bluetooth Maintaining Handling CDs To keep a CD clean, do not touch the play side (non-label side) of the CD. Do not attach paper or tape to the CD. Cleaning CDs Before playback, wipe the CD outwards from the center (not in a circle) with a clean cloth. If you cannot clean the CD with a dry cloth, wipe the CD with a slightly moistened, soft cloth, then dry it with a soft cloth. Do not use any solvents, such as paint thinner, benzine, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static spray designed for vinyl records. Cleaning your boombox To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your CD boombox from the AC power source when cleaning. The finish on your CD boombox may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other furniture. Use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts.
