Therepeaterwilltypicallybeinstalledatthemidpointbetweenthe panelandthewirelessdevicesbeingrepeated.Whenatransmission fromadeviceisrepeated,therepeateraddsabittothemessageto indicatetothesystemthatthemessageisnotcomingdirectlyfrom thedevice.Therepeaterwillnotrepeatalreadyrepeatedmessages. TherepeaterispoweredbyanACadapterandisequippedwitha rechargeablebatterywhichsupports24hoursofbatterybackup underconditionsoflocalpowerfailure.Whenthepowersourcefor therepeaterchangesfromACpowertobatterybackup,orfrom batterybackuptoACpower,therepeaterwillautomaticallysenda messagetothesystemwithintwo(2)minutes.Inaddition, supervisorymessagesaresentapproximatelyevery70minutesthat indicatetherepeaterstatus. TherepeaterisequippedwithastatusindicatorLEDvisiblefromthe frontoftheunit,andalearnbuttonislocatedonthesideoftheunit. Youshouldalsoavoidmountingsensorsinareaswherethereisa largequantityofmetalorelectricalwiring(forexample,neara furnaceorinautilityroom). Toinstallthewirelessrepeater:

1 Opentherepeatercase. 2 Attachthebasetothedesiredwalllocationwiththefour(4) Phillipsheadscrewsandanchorssupplied(seeFigure2). 3 Installthetamperscrew(seeFigure2).Withthetamperscrew installed,removingthecasefromthewalltriggerstamper. NOTE: Forthetampertoworkcorrectly,thetamperscrewmust beinstalledintoawallstud.Donotuseawallanchor. 4 Installthebattery.Observebatterypolarity. 5 Connectthe2conductorwiretothepowersupplyandtothe terminalconnectoronthecircuitboard.Makesurethewire passesthroughthegrommetandholeontherepeaterbasebefore connectingtotheterminal. 6 Attachtherepeatercovertothebaseandsecuretheassembly withthePhillipsheadcaselockingscrew.
