Do not use the radio to listen to music or other audio programs while operating machinery. Doing so may cause distractions that could result in serious personal injury. This radio is capable of producing sound levels that can be dangerous to long-term hearing. Listening to music at high volume for any period of time may cause noise-induced hearing loss. The higher the volume, the less time required before your hearing may be affected. PRODUCT USE AND CARE When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like: paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause sparks, burns, or a fire. Keep the radio and its handle dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-

based products, or any strong solvents to clean the radio. Following this rule will reduce the risk of loss of control and deterioration of the enclosure plastic. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose to water or rain. Battery products do not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet; therefore, they are always in operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards when not using your battery product or when changing accessories. Take it to an authorized serviceman for electrical check to determine if the charger is in good working order. Do not disassemble charger. wire grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts are isolated from energized internal components with protecting insulation. Failure to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury. NOTICE: Always refer to the manual for any device recommended for use as an attachment or accessory. Listening to AM/FM radio, MP3 players, CD players, and other audio devices Charging 19.2 V battery packs and USB capable devices Streaming audio from BLUETOOTH enabled devices For complete charging instructions, refer to Charging later in the Operation section. ATTACHING VERSATRACK BRACKETS See Figure 1, page ii. Push the VersaTrack brackets into the slots on the back of the radio, as shown. Slide the brackets up to lock them in place. INSTALLING/REMOVING AAA BATTERIES See Figure 2, page ii. It is advisable to write down saved channels before replacing the AAA batteries. There is a 15-second time frame for replacing the AAA batteries. If the batteries are not replaced within 15 seconds, the radio will lose all settings previously stored in memory, and they will require reprogramming. Always use new alkaline batteries for replacement. WARNING: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Remove the AC power cord from the cord wrap. Loosen the screw in the battery door. Remove door and set aside. Install two new AAA batteries according to polarity indicators inside the battery compartment. Replace the battery door and tighten screw to secure. CHARGER ONLY OPERATION See Figure 2, page ii. A switch has been installed in the bottom of the AAA battery compartment. The purpose of this switch is to disable the radio circuits so that the charging functions of the radio/charger can be tested for compliance with California Energy Commission requirements for Battery Charger systems. If the switch is in the up position, the radio/charger will operate normally; if the switch is in the down position, the radio circuits will be disabled while the charger circuits continue to function normally. You should not need to operate this switch under normal use conditions. However, if you find that the radio is not working while the charger seems to work normally, confirm that this switch is in the up position. INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK See Figure 3, page ii. Place the battery pack in the radio/charger, aligning the rib on the battery pack with the groove in the battery port. Make sure the latches on the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is secured to the radio before beginning operation. Depress the latches to remove the battery pack. AC POWER CORD See Figure 4, page ii. The AC power cord can connect the radio/charger to a power supply when a battery is not available or when a battery has a low charge. The power cord has a pass-

through plug which allows you to connect the radio/

charger and another device to the same outlet. 8 - English OPERATION Always turn the radio/charger off before disconnecting it from the power source. NOTE: Always remove the battery pack from the radio/

charger before unplugging the unit from a power source, or before plugging the unit into a power source. Connecting the product to a power source with the battery pack installed could affect the performance of the radio/charger or the battery pack. CHARGING See Figures 3 - 5, page ii. Battery packs are shipped in a low charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should charge them before first use. If the charger does not charge the battery pack under normal circumstances, return both the battery pack and radio/charger to your nearest repair center for electrical check. This product charges battery packs in as little as 6 hours, depending upon the type of battery pack. Connect the radio/charger to an AC power supply. NOTE: Make sure the power supply is normal household voltage, 120 volts, AC only, 60 Hz. Install battery pack into the radio/charger as described earlier. Press on the battery pack to be sure contacts on the battery pack engage properly with contacts in the radio/charger. Do not place the radio/charger or battery pack in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature. The battery pack may become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. When the battery pack is fully charged, remove the battery pack. CHARGING A HOT BATTERY PACK When using a tool continuously, the battery pack may become hot. A hot battery pack may be placed directly into the radio/charger but charging will not begin until the battery temperature cools to within acceptable temperature range. When the battery pack cools to approximately 120F (40C), the radio/charger will automatically begin charging. CHARGING A COLD BATTERY PACK A cold battery pack may be placed directly into the radio/

charger but charging will not begin until the battery temperature warms to within acceptable temperature range. When the battery pack warms to approximately 32F (0C), the charger will automatically begin charging. LED FUNCTIONS See Figure 5, page ii. MODE LED Evaluating Charging Charged Flashing Flashing On ACTION Battery is being tested. If battery is hot or cold, charger will begin charging when temperature reaches an appropriate level. Battery is being charged. Battery pack is fully charged and charger is in Energy Save mode. If charger indicates Evaluate for longer than 30 minutes at room temperature, battery pack may be defective. Try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and reintalling the battery pack. If the LED status repeats a second time, try charging a different battery. If a different battery charges normally, dispose of the defective pack (see battery pack operators manual). If a different battery also indicates Evaluate for longer than 30 minutes, the charger may be defective. 9 - English OPERATION LCD DISPLAY See Figures 6 - 7, pages ii and iii. When the radio/charger is connected to a power supply and in the ON position, the LCD display will show the time, frequency, mode, and settings. NOTE: The illustrations of the LCD display shown in this manual are only examples of the frequencies you may see on your radio/charger and are not the exact frequencies that you may choose to listen to.

] symbol will be MENU NAVIGATION BUTTONS See Figures 6 - 7, pages ii and iii. Use the menu navigation buttons to turn the radio/charger on and off, control the volume, change frequencies, toggle between modes and set the time. TURNING THE RADIO/CHARGER ON AND OFF:

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the radio/charger ON and OFF. When the radio/charger is on and a battery pack is connected as the power supply, the [

shown in the LCD display. If the battery charge is low, a flashing low battery indicator will be displayed [

]. If the radio is connected to an AC power supply, the battery indicator will disappear. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME:

When the radio/charger is turned ON, the unit will return to the last volume setting used. To increase the volume, press the VOL + button. To decrease the volume, press the VOL - button. SWITCHING MODES:

To switch modes, press the MODE button. The selected mode will be displayed above the frequency. Press the MODE button until the desired mode is selected. There are four modes:

FM mode AM mode AUX mode BLUETOOTH mode AM/FM TUNING:

Use the SCAN buttons to manually tune to the desired radio frequency. The selected frequency is displayed on the LCD. Press the SCAN button to tune to a lower frequency and SCAN and press the SCAN frequency. NOTE: Briefly press either button (not press and hold) to tune one frequency step at a time. Press and hold either button to quickly find the next frequency with clear reception. To decrease interference or electrical noise, adjust the position of the antenna or move the radio/charger to a higher elevation. The antenna folds into the handle and out of the way when not in use. STORING A PRESET IN MEMORY:

The memory feature saves up to 20 frequencies as presets in the radios memory. You can save up to ten (10) frequencies each for FM and AM modes. Tune to the desired AM or FM frequency. Press and hold the PRESET button until the word MEMORY and the preset position number flash on the screen. Press the SCAN or SCAN button to choose a preset position number. NOTE: There are ten (10) preset positions for FM and ten (10) for AM. Only one station can be saved in each preset position. Press the PRESET button again to store the frequency. To tune to presets (FM or AM mode):

NOTICE: Attempting to charge devices rated more than 2 Amps could damage the USB dedicated charging port and/or the device. Connect one end of a USB cable (not provided) to your USB device. Connect the other end of the USB cable (not provided) to the USB dedicated charging port to begin charging the device. NOTE: The USB dedicated charging port provides power only; it does not provide any communication capabilities. When the radio/charger is operating on battery power, the USB dedicated charging port will continue to function for approximately 1 hour after turning the radio OFF. If a connection cannot be established within five seconds, the radio/charger will make itself available to other BLUETOOTH enabled devices. BLUETOOTH enabled devices must be within 30 ft. of the radio and set to search/scan in order to pair with the radio/charger. Select Craftsman Stereo from your devices list of available BLUETOOTH signals to pair the device and the radio/charger. No password or PIN is required for connection. When the device has successfully paired with the radio/charger, bt will stop flashing. NOTE: When a device is paired to the radio/charger, information for connecting to the device is saved in the radio/chargers memory. When streaming audio from a BLUETOOTH enabled device, press the SCAN button to go to the previous or next track. To disconnect the BLUETOOTH enabled device, press and hold the PRESET button. When the device is disconnected, bt will begin flashing in the LCD display and the radio/charger will begin searching for another device. ATTACHING THE RADIO/CHARGER TO A VERSATRACK TRACKWALL (NOT INCLUDED) See Figures 12 - 13, page iv. The VersaTrack brackets included with your radio/charger can be used to secure the product to the VersaTrack trackwall. NOTE: To purchase a VersaTrack trackwall, visit your nearest Sears retail store or go to www.sears.com. Ensure that the trackwall is securely installed to the mounting surface and the brackets are attached to the radio correctly. Place the product on the trackwall by aligning the rib on the brackets with the grooves in the trackwall as shown. Slide the tool down until it is fully seated on the trackwall.
