Default IR mode Normal operation RF pairing Delete pairing information Stuck key Timeout Simultaneous keypress (multiple keypress) Standby mode ID setup for a device 2.3.1 Default Vizio IR mode This is the default mode when user takes the remote control out of box, it will able to transmit IR code for IR receiver without any setup after insert battery. 2.3.2 Normal operation mode This is the normal operation when target device is turns on; remote is paired with target device, micro-
controller is in active mode, keyboard/remote function as RF (2.4GHz) HID device. 2.3.3 RF (2.4GHz) pairing The RF (2.4GHz) device needs to be paired before enable its function. This remote control equipped with a 2.4GHz RF module. It must pair with the target device before use it as a RF (2.4GHz) remote control. 2.3.4 Delete pairing information After remote control paired with target device, if user want go back to default IR remote mode, press and hold buttons <Q> + <P> + <Space> on keyboard for 5 seconds, then release all of them will erase the pairing information. 2.3.5 Code set ID setup for a device This function is heavily depends on target device and many mutual active between target device, remote control & user. There is a load list contain devices, brand names and code set IDs table stored in target device. This load list is for setup IR database code set ID for an IR device. For example user has a Philips DVD player. User intends to use this remote control to control this DVD player. Setup the code set ID, DVD device should be selected. Then select brand name Philips. Under the brand name Philips, there may have multiple code sets. Each code set represents a physical remote control. After make the selection, the remote control will set a control code set. Target device application can assign default code set for each device, or leave it blank. 2.3.6 Stuck Key time out function The remote control will shut down after 25-30 seconds when the last key transition to consume minimal power. After all keys are released, the remote resumes normal operation. 2.3.7 Simultaneous Keypress If more than one key press is detected, the remote control will stop sending signal. 2.3.8 Standby mode The standby mode of the remote control shall be entered as soon as possible after the pressed key is released.
