Transmitter Transmits sound from the television and/or conversations to the receiver via a built- in 2,4 GHz wireless digital audio system (WDA). Receiver with neck loop Receives sounds from the transmitter via both WDA and Bluetooth. Works with headphones or hearing aids in T-position (telecoil). Charging stand Charging stand for receiver and transmitter. Transmits the signal from a connected landline to the receiver via Bluetooth. HearIt All has four main functions:

Use the enclosed cables and connectors to connect your television. Depending on the TV model, you can choose between the following connections on your TV:

Most televisions disconnect speakers when attaching a jack to the headphone output. Some at screen televisions may have a signicant delay leading to echo sound effects when used with hearing aids in MT-position. Please contact Phonic Ear for futher information. 8 Installation Connect cables to a landline telephone Connecting a landline telephone 1. Connect one end of your existing telephone line cord to the charger jack C8 and the other end to the telephone wall outlet. 2. Connect one end of the telephone cord to charger jack C9 and the other end to your landline telephone using the bell to bell telephone cord. 1 C8 C9 2 Connect power 1. Firmly insert the power supply connector into charger jack C6. 2. Firmly insert the power supply adaptor into your mains wall outlet. Do not turn on main power until a wireless connection between the charger and the receiver has been established.

Plug in the power supply after installation but do not turn on power until the wireless connection between charger and receiver has been established (see page 11). 9 Setup Wireless setup Wireless connections must be established before main power is turned on. HearIt All combines two wireless radio systems: Bluetooth and WDA. Bluetooth: Is a way of connecting and exchanging information between between Bluetooth enabled devices such as mobile telephones, laptops, PCs, printers, headsets etc. WDA (Wireless Digital Audio): Is a way of connecting and exchanging information between WDA enabled devices such as the HearIt All charger and receiver. 10 Setup Wireless setup for landline telephones Establishing a wireless connection between the HearIt All charger and receiver 1. Turn on the receiver by pressing receiver button R1 for up to ve seconds. 2. Turn on the main power for the charger. 3. The charger indicator C3 begins blinking rapidly while connection is in progress. 4. Once a connection has been established, the charger indicators C3 and R3 stop blinking blue. 1 R1 3 C3 4 C3 R3 Please note:
Once the wireless connection between HearIt All and a Bluetooth unit has been established, the units will automatically connect when they are within range of each other. If the connection is lost or power to the charging stand was turned on before wireless setup was made, connection can be established by a single push to charger button C5 at any time. Always turn on the receiver before attempting to connect charger and receiver. If the connection is lost because of low or no range or no receiver power, the connection will automatically be re-established once a suitable range has been reached or the receiver has been charged. If connection is lost because there is no power to the charger, follow steps 1 to 4 to re-
establish the connection. 11 Setup Wireless setup for mobile telephones Establishing a wireless connection between Bluetooth mobile telephones and the HearIt All receiver 1. Enter the mobile telephone menu to allow the mobile telephone to search for available Bluetooth devices. 2. Select the Bluetooth entry HearIt All. 3. Enter the pass code into the mobile telephone (8888). Select connect. A short beep will be heard in the hearing aid or in the headphones. 4. Once the wireless connection is established, receiver indicator R3 stops blinking blue. 1 2 R3 4 Please note:
Once a wireless connection between HearIt All and a Bluetooth unit has been established the units will automatically connect when they are within range of each other. The receiver can connect with both a Bluetooth mobile telephone and the charger at the same time. If one Bluetooth connection has already been established the receiver indicator R3 will not blink. During telephone conversations, the receiver indicator blue indicating that the wireless connection is active. R1 will illuminate

Choose between omni or directional microphone setting by a single short push to either transmitter button T2 or T3. 4. Turn on the receiver by pressing the receiver button R1 for up to ve seconds. 5. If sound is not immediately available, press the receiver button R2+
(volume up) for two seconds. 6. Once a connection has been established receiver indicator R1 turns white. If the connection is lost due to battery out, out of range or power off repeat steps 5 and 6. The indicator R7 blinks white if the transmitter is off or out of range. T1 1 T3 T2 3 R7 R2+

Charge receiver and transmitter before use. (See page 17) 14 Setup Receiver Setup Neck loop and T/MT function on HA In order to use HearIt All with hearing aids in T-position (telecoil), the hearing aid must be equipped with a telecoil tted by the hearing care professionel. Installing neck loop 1. Detach neck loop R10 from receiver jack R9 by pulling the loop wire. 2. Place receiver on the chest and place loop wire around the neck. 3. Reattach neck loop R10 to receiver jack R9. 4. Switch hearing aid to T (telecoil only) or MT (microphone and telecoil simultaneously) position. R9 1 2 R9 3 Please note:
Connecting headphones to the headphones jack signal to the neck loop. R8 disconnects the 15 Operation Indicators All indicators on the HearIt All receiver, transmitter and charger speak the same language. A steady illumination gives an indication that the function is ready whereas blinking generally indicates that something is wrong. LED indicators:
Blinking: Generally means warning Red/Green: Power and battery status Blue: Wireless Bluetooth functions White: Wireless WDA function The receiver must be turned on and charged before use, and the charger connected as described in the installation/setup chapter. Ensure in addition that headphones are connected and hearing aids are set in T- or MT-position. 16 Operation Charging If transmitter indicator T1 or receiver indicator R5 ash red during operation or units do not turn on when desired, it is time to charge the transmitter and/
or receiver. You can charge each unit separately or charge both at the same time. Place the transmitter and/or receiver in slots C1 and C2 respectively. Ensure that the power supply is connected to the charger and that the power supply adaptor is rmly attached to an active wall power outlet
(charger indicator C3 is constant green or ashing blue/green). Transmitter and receiver cannot be overcharged if they are left in the charger after completed charging.
17 Operation Charging when travelling 1. Connect Y-cord to the power supply and ensure that the power supply is correct connected to an active wall power outlet. 2. Connect the ends of the Y-cord to charging jack T4 on transmitter and/or charging jack R11 on the receiver. 3. Receiver indicator R5 and transmitter indicator T1 will illuminate red while charging. 4. Once charging is complete, receiver indicator R5 and transmitter indicator T1 will light green.

As the battery capacity of the receiver is larger than the battery capacity of the transmitter it may take slightly longer to charge the receiver. We recommend fully charging batteries before use, however, partly charging the units does not inict damage to them.
18 Operation Listening to the television Using HearIt All with your television 1. Place the receiver around neck (see page15). 2. Turn on the receiver by pressing receiver button R1 for up to ve seconds. 3. Place the transmitter rmly in the charger. 4. Turn on the transmitter by a single short push to transmitter button T1. 5. The maximum volume level has been reached if all ve receiver indicators R3 to R7 are illuminated. If the signal is still too weak adjust the volume on your television or contact your hearing care professionel for adjustment of the telecoil in the hearing aid. The volume setting is constantly displayed on the receiver. This is to allow others (i.e. a nurse) to see if the unit is on and working. When using HearIt All with your television, we recommend that you are seated.
20 Operation Communication Using HearIt All as a communicator 1. Remove the transmitter and receiver from the charger. 2. Place the receiver around your neck (see page15). 3. To turn the transmitter and receiver on make a single push to transmitter button T1 and hold down receiver button R1 for ve seconds. 4. Choose between omni-directional or directional microphone setting by pushing transmitter button T2 or T3 (see below). 5. Hold the transmitter in your hand pointing towards the direction of the sound. 6. To turn the transmitter and receiver off, make a single push to transmitter button T1 and hold down receiver button R1. Please note:
R2+ (volume up) for ve seconds to If no sound is audible, press button activate the wireless connection. Transmitter and receiver do not have to be in close proximity to the charger when using HearIt All as a communicator. When using HearIt All as a communicator, we recommend that you are seated.

Only make a single short push to accept or end a call. It may take a couple of seconds before the call is completely connected or disconnected. The telephone handset may be on the hook or off the hook during the conversation. This allow others to listen in or participate in the conversation. 22 Operation Mobile telephone conversations Accepting an incoming call 1. When a call comes in a ringing tone will be heard in the hearing aid or headphones and the receiver indicator R1 starts blinking blue. 2. Press receiver button R1 to accept the call. 3. You can accept a call from the mobile telephone or the landline telephone when listening to the television. Only make a single short push to accept or end a call. It may take a couple of seconds before a call is completely connected or disconnected. The ringing tone of the mobile telephone call may be the same sound as heard from the mobile telephone itself depending on the mobile telephone used. The receiver does not have to be in close proximity to transmitter or charger as it works independently as a mobile telephone headset while travelling. If the receiver is turned off when a mobile telephone call comes in, that specic call cannot be answered or ended using HearIt All.
23 Operation Making a mobile telephone call 1. Turn on the receiver by pressing receiver button R1 for up to ve seconds. 2. Enter the dial number on the mobile telephone and pick up the handset. 3. The call is automatically transferred to the HearIt All receiver. 4. To end the call press receiver button R1 or end the call on the mobile telephone. Rejecting an incoming call 1. When a call comes in a ringing tone will be heard in the hearing aid or headphones and the receiver indicator R1 starts blinking blue. 2. It is not possible to reject calls from the landline telephone using this procedure. 24 Advanced operation Changing WDA channel The WDA channel is preset, but can be changed. 1. Place the receiver and transmitter in charger. 2. Select the desired channel using channel button C4 on the back of the charger. 3. Press and hold the channel button C5 for ve seconds. 4. Time period of warranty This warranty will come into effect upon the date of the original purchase of this equipment, and will remain in effect for two calendar years from that date as long as the instrument remains the property of the original consumer. What is covered by this warranty Any electronic component which, because of workmanship, manufacturing, or design defects, fails to function properly under normal use during the lifetime of this warranty will be replaced or repaired at no charge for parts or labour when returned to the factory service centre. Transportationcost are to be met by the customer. If it is determined that repair is not feasible, the entire unit may be replaced with an equivalent unit upon mutual agreement of the manufacturer and customer. What is not covered by this warranty 1 2 Malfunctions resulting from abuse, neglect, or accident. Peripheral accessories as itemized within the product brochure, when such items are returned after 90 days from the original purchase. Batteries. Products marked with the crossed-out dustbin shown above are electrical and electronic equipment. The crossed-out dustbin indicates that waste electrical and electronic equipment may not be disposed of with unsorted household waste and that it must be collected separately. In developing and manufacturing your Phonic Ear product, we used high-quality materials and components that can be reused. Thus, when disposing of your waste electrical and electronic equipment, you must use a collection system designated for this purpose, regardless of whether you dispose of your waste at your local civic amenity site or whether your waste is collected from your household. Please contact your local authority for further information. How to remove batteries Transmitter:
1) Remove screw in the black clip on the rear side 2) Pull top part and bottom part apart by pulling hard and twisting gently 3) Cut battery away from the printed circuit board 4) Cut wires one at a time Receiver:
1) Unscrew two screws in the top corners on the rear of unit 2) Open top cover by lifting cover up in the top 3) Remove top cover completely 4) Cut battery away from the printed circuit board 5) Cut wires one at a time 30 The socket outlet must be installed near to the equipment and must be easily accessible. This product is intended for connection to the public switched analogue telephone network and may be operated in: BE, CY, DK, EE, FI, FR, GR, IE, IT, LV, LT, LU, AT, CZ, DE, HU, NL, PL, SK, SI, ES, SE, IS, NO, CH, BG, RO, TR, MT, PT, GB, and LI. 31 Warnings You should familiarize yourself fully with the following general warnings and the entire contents of this booklet before using your HearIt All. Misuse can result in sudden and permanent hearing loss HearIt All is not a toy and therefore should be kept out of the reach of children and anyone else e.g. people with learning difculties who might swallow parts or otherwise cause injury to themselves. Special attention should be paid to the smaller components in order to prevent children from swallowing them and choking. If a part is swallowed, see a doctor immediately. Always make sure to set the volume controls correctly according to your hearing. By using HearIt All with a sound pressure level that is too high, you may risk impairing your hearing. Never allow others to wear or use your HearIt All as incorrect/wrongful usage could cause permanent damage to their hearing. Dysfunction in HearIt All. HearIt All may stop functioning, for instance if the batteries are discharged. You should be aware of this possibility, in particular when you are in trafc or otherwise dependent on warning sounds. Interference Your HearIt All has been thoroughly tested for interference, according to the most stringent international standards. But new technical developments constantly bring new products into society, and some may emit electromagnetic radiation, leading to unforeseen interference in HearIt All. Examples include induction cooking appliances, shop alarm systems, mobile telephones, fax machines, personal computer devices, X-rays, computer tomography etc. Your hearing instruments are designed to comply with the most stringent Standards of International Electromagnetic Compatibility. However HearIt All might cause interference with other medical devices. Such interference can also be caused by radio signals, power line disturbances, airport metal detectors, electromagnetic elds from other medical devices and electrostatic discharges. Possible side effects The otherwise non-allergenic materials used in hearing instruments may in rare cases cause a skin irritation.Consult a doctor if you experience any side effects. 32 Warnings Use on Aircrafts The HearIt All should not be used on board on aircrafts unless specically permitted by the ight personnel. Implantable devices HearIt All is designed to comply with the most stringent Standards of International Electromagnetic Compatibility. However, HearIt All might cause interference with other medical devices such as debrillators and pacemakers. Please, contact the manufacturer of your implantable device for information about the risk of disturbance. Interference can also be caused by power line disturbances, airport metal detectors, electromagnetic elds from other medical devices, radio signals and electrostatic discharges. Do never exposure HearIt All to great heat by putting it in the oven, in the micro wave oven or by burning it. There is a risk that it will explode and cause serious injury. The safety of the use of HearIt All with auxillary input cable is determined by external signal source. When the input cable is connected to mains-operated equipment, this equipment must comply with IEC-60065, IEC-60601, IEC-60950 or equivalent safety standards. Installing neck loop 1. Detach neck loop R10 from receiver jack R9 by pulling the loop wire. 2. Place the HearIt Mobile on the chest and place loop wire around the neck. 3. Reattach neck loop R10 to receiver jack R9. 4. Switch hearing aid to T (telecoil only) or MT (microphone and telecoil simultaneously) position. Please note:

Only make a single short push to accept or end a call. It may take a couple of seconds before a call is completely connected or disconnected. The ringing tone of the mobile telephone call may be the same sound as heard from the mobile telephone itself depending on the mobile telephone used. If HearIt Mobile is turned off when a mobile telephone call comes in, that speci c call cannot be answered or ended using HearIt Mobile.
